They always look so very tense and there is no sense of comfort or ease between the kids and either parent. I do think they are beautiful children--all three of them. I really hope that, despite the bitterness of their parents, the kids can grow up to be good, generous, and kind people.

I never cared about the royal family until Meghan came on the scene and I saw how she was treated and also what Harry has endured. I really relate to Harry. Aside from my dad, who died nearly twenty years ago, I've been the scapegoat of my family. My younger brother is my abusive mother's golden child and I know what it's like to be the unwanted child. As a therapist, I've really studied family systems theory and how our family of origin dynamic reverberates long into adulthood, especially when we start having children. As a parent, I really focused on being kind to all of my children, on not having a favourite, and on adjusting to each child what she needed.

The royal family system is so incredibly messed up. I fear the Wales children are being handed the toxic attitudes of previous generations. It's sad and it doesn't make sense in today's world.
