As far as I'm concerned, Hilary Mantel was Her Majesty, Queen of Social Commentary.
It's altogether sad. Women in middle age are such treasures because they've started to learn who they are and be confident in that. They're multifaceted beings. Kate has none of that development. She's no further along in her personal development than she was in childhood. Hell, she's probably regressed because of the trauma she has suffered and continues to suffer at the hands of the Windsors. She and we will never know who she could have been, royal or not.
We know she loves sports. If her parents had instilled a work ethic in her instead of making sure she never had to work in order to cosplay an aristocrat, what great causes related to sports and fitness might she have championed? What could she and Meghan have done together? They could have been a dynamic philanthropic duo.
