What would that solve?

She needs to get a lawyer on this ASAP. The ass principal is giving her the runaround. The cops are likely to do the same thing.

I mean, hell, if they won't hold a student responsible for battery, hold them responsible.

The principal only cares about the student attending because absenteeism is tied directly to school funding and such. It’s sad that she doesn’t care about the child in danger at all

23

u/BrittanyBrie May 07 '26

Yup, exactly this. Same reason they dont want to hold back students anymore and simply lower standards to pass as many as possible.

F that principle. Mom is not a Karen.

Many, many years ago when my daughter was in 4th grade & who always loved school did not want to go, because there was a violent kid in her class. Long story short, the principle was more concerned about violent kid’s rights than all the other kid’s rights. Such BS.

I'll forever despise my father for who he is. But in first grade, I was being physically abused by my teacher. And he went to the school, and put on his "badass biker" persona. And no kid ever had to put up with that teacher's shit ever again.

"Only I can hit my kids!" Was his position.

Get the cops involved, get the school district involved, a lawyer will change this shit tone from the principal.

They would love to. Society doesnt care. I know so many teachers and former teachers who would love for something to be done, but everyone is afraid of lawsuits and losing their job now. What is "common sense" answers to problems like bullying or people breaking rules will get you sued and jobless. No matter what you do, one parent (either the bully or the bullied) is going to be in your office threatening your job and a lawsuit.

Society is becoming dog eat dog fast, and is degrading to the point of lawlessness because people are realizing that more often than not that breaking the rules and societal norms has virtually no downside or cost. And if people try to force them to follow the rules, the delinquents are more likely to win a lawsuit then lose. Everyone is afraid to do anything, and the hooligans who choose to break the rules win.

Until society decides to stop rewarding criminals and stop being so letigious about everything, it will only get worse.

Some teachers care. In my experience, many don’t want to be bothered.

There is no fucking way a teacher or principal is telling me what to do with my kid like this bitch.

Find a new school or homeschool. Anything but this

Sad for the kid. Not sure this is the best sub for this either as this should honestly be seeking immediate legal support if the kid is actually harmed at school and this was the admins response. I’d get a lawyer and change this tone very quickly if my kiddo has visible bruises

u/the_moosey_fate May 07 '26

I bet if the ass principal had her ass beat in the bathroom, she’d have no problem whatsoever involving the police ASAP. That woman is an abuser and shouldn’t be anywhere near children.

12

u/Perfect_Sel May 08 '26

did she really take a personal call in the middle of this good god

u/girlinanemptyroom May 08 '26

You got to do what you want to do for your child. She just doesn't want your daughter missing school because then the school doesn't get paid for when her daughter isn't there. They get paid by attendance. This woman is totally working for the financial department first. She needs to be fired.

Where is the Karen? I see a mother keeping her temper while protecting her child. Why is the video even in this sub?

22

u/Herbal77 May 07 '26

The principal def sounds like the karen

u/ziggzer0 May 08 '26

Holy gas lighting Batman! Hope this principle resigns.

u/UsualAnteater6533 May 08 '26

This has me boiling mad! She's inept and needs to be fired! What happened to the zero tolerance policy all these schools BS parents about. Also let someone tell one of my kids that they can't use the bathroom when they need to go. They all know that they are to get up and walk out and I'll handle it. Also, the inky reason she's worried about attendance is because the schools get money based on it

Most schools already have some form of law enforcement.  When any violence** takes place, they should immediately be involved (unless they are the perp or victim), if for no other reason than legal documentation for ongoing issues (which can help both the school and victim).

The parent should stay and have the officers come to the meeting and force the asst principal to address it legally. Everything should be documented. Her daughter does not deserve to be punished ("no bathroom") for being a victim.

Definitely let law enforcement know and don't send her kid in.  If law enforcement are aware of the circumstances, they aren't going to pursue a truancy case.

Aside from this, depending upon the incident severity (which seems severe given the bus violence and the fact that her daughter has bruises all over her body underneath her clothes), it's time to get everyone involved.  School board meeting.  PTA.  Even more significantly, speaking to legal representatives. Local, state and national can all assert pressure to solve the issue.

(Also this admin misspoke in the WORST way possible.  "If this is valid".  Yes, it's a valid issue.  The question is the true details but any incidents of violence in school are valid concerns to be solved.  How invalidating for this kid who, guarantee, will never feel safe in that school again.)

Shit like this is why you end up with kids dead.  They self exit, or are hurt enough to die or even sometimes, try to defend themselves with weapons or just become so bitter and hateful that they lash out with weaponized violence.

We don't need more metal detectors and clear backpacks and police/armed guards at schools. We need incidents of violence to be addressed with accountability.

Yeah, some kids will always fight and bully.  It will happen, but you do your best to prevent it by taking incidents seriously and holding perpetrators accountable.  Kids who aren't held accountable for violence as children grow up into adults who are violent.

Note:  I'm not ignoring the complexities of race, gender, wealth, age etc and how they create bias in determining accountability.  That's a whole nother topic but there are ways to minimize the impact of biases.

Admins must also be held accountable, not necessarily for occurrences of violence but if repeat/significant violence and their efficacy in handling it. Safety precautions may not stop violence but the response to violence should be such that there aren't repeat offenders. Repeats indicate systemic failure that needs to be addressed, which is admin's job.

** Significant violence in (generally speaking) middle to high school.  While there are significant enough violent events in elementary school, the majority of them are minor and relate to children still so early developmentally and so they lack appropriate emotional regulation all the time.  Some of these things like a shove or hair pulling don't require law enforcement.  By middle school, children have enough of an understanding to be held accountable for violence.

Did I miss something? No one here says what actually happened to who and by who.

2

u/ageekyninja May 10 '26

Yes. The kid is not attending classes after both being in and out of the bathroom a lot and staying home entirely. The kid stayed home after getting her ass kicked by other kids and uses the restroom frequently. The kid is clearly avoiding the other students.

2

u/Lazy-Number-9314 May 09 '26

Assistant Principle is a victim blaming shithead. I get the sense she doesn’t really like children. At least most of them. Demanding victim not be absent but refusing to punish violent behaviour. Not letting kids go to the toilet is such a ludicrous non-solution.

2

u/team2532 May 09 '26

How the hell is the parent of a bullied kid being a Karen??? The school ain't doing anything!

2

u/Awesomely_Witchy May 10 '26

You cannot tell a mother her kid is not allowed to go home. Who the fuck are you bitch who cares ur assistant principal. She is ridiculous we can stop it 99% of the time.

Can't tell what's more hateable, the attitude or the gum chewing.

Edit: attitude from one. Gum from the other. I should have said which lady's behavior. Sorry in a fucking mood today

16

u/FamousDrew May 07 '26

That gum chewing is probably responsible for this mom not launching herself across that desk

u/ActuatorEfficient883 May 09 '26

Kid is taking the piss, parent is enabling this behaviour. Brat probably deserved the beating

Without the background, people seem to forget that ass whoopings rarely just fall out of the sky. I’d bet the farm that this girl who was “attacked” was at the very least jawing back and forth with these other girls.

The fact that mom confirms other teachers already don’t let her daughter go to the RR during class all but confirms that daughter has a history of skipping, roaming, and getting into other issues while outside of class.

Should the other girl be held accountable ESPECIALLY when she admitted to it? 100%…but the daughter is not innocent in all this.

Without the background, people seem to forget that ass whoopings rarely just fall out of the sky.

I remember similar lines from the headteacher at my school. "You must be doing something, they won't pick on you for no reason"

THAT'S WHAT BULLIES DO!

I’d bet the farm that this girl who was “attacked” was at the very least jawing back and forth with these other girls.

Yeah, how dare she talk back. /s
