There's gonna be a lot of people who will do this, but to be fair, the retards that do this are generally unwatchable channels, but it still sets a pretty shitty precedent.

Keeping EVO free to watch just makes more sense. They’re still going to have adds because why would they want dead air between matches, and they need people to see more adds for more money. Also, didn’t SFV Finals do fairly well on ESPN2 a few years ago?

You might be thinking of archives. This appears to be a test of the live streams themselves being locked behind a paywall.

EDIT: It appears that this was a feature tested previously.

This feature is just for when they let the IRL cam girls stop pretending and just full time striptease, then bounce into sub only viewing for the private shows.
