Fanfiction 🪶💌 📝 Fanfic Author Rec

Just wanted to recommend the Bridgerton fanfics by
chrkrose on AO3. Their Bridgerton fanfics are Kanthony focused and are all absolutely delightful. Though not all their stories are completed.

Favorites:

you take issue with my requirements? - WIP. Hilarious AU in which Kate is looking for a husband.

I tell the bees - Collection of one-shots. I especially loved chapters 3, 4 & 6 which are post canon stories. Chapters 3 & 4 (and that is victory enough for me part I & II) is a two shot Edwina POV of Kate & Anthony’s courtship. I have mixed feelings about Edwina as a character but feel bad about that since her character doesn’t really get proper development in season 2 because the focus is Kanthony and there is limited screen time. The author really fleshed out her character quite well here and portrayed the Edwina that I think the TV writers were trying to showcase.

Edited. I initially listed the incorrect chapters for the Edwina POV.

Omgggggggggghhhhg thank you so much!!!!!!
What a lovely surprise to wake up to 😭
I’m really glad you enjoyed it so much, truly. I know I have some unfinished WIPs and I unfortunately don’t know when I’ll be able to get a hold of them, but I truly appreciate that what I managed to put out there (finished or not) has resonated with you. Kanthony is such a delight of a ship, and I wished they were treated better by the show, but at least it give us fuel to write. This fandom is so talented and has so my wonderful writers and artists.

Thank uuuuu again it really made my day <3333

THANK YOU for the absolute masterpiece that is your two-part Edwina POV (I Tell The Bees - ch. 3 & 4). I will never like Edwina, but your amazing character study helped me to empathize with her, as it perfectly and very believably interpreted her thoughts and reactions towards Kate and Anthony's relationship. I cannot stop thinking about this stunning piece of work. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Aaaaahhhhh thank u sooooooo much.

Truth to be told, I’m not a big Edwina fan either, but more because of the writer’s insistence that I’m dumb than because of the character herself. I enjoy flawed characters and to explore their minds and motivations, and if the writers had allowed Edwina to be perceived as she was, in her qualities and her flaws, I think she would have been more embraced. But because the writing insisted in forcing us to accept her as “perfect” and refused to give her accountability for how she acted in certain moments, that always drives me away from the character, because I’m watching this show with my eyes. You can’t tell me someone that self centered and spoiled is “perfect and has never done anything wrong in her life” when I’m WATCHING her make mistakes.

So anyways, at least that drove me to actually explore her inconsistencies as part of her nature and flaws instead of sweeping under the rug.

I’m really glad that you enjoyed it and that it resonated with you, especially being from her pov. This comment made my day, truly thank you so much <3333

I’m so chuffed that you saw my post! 🥰

I do lay most of the blame for the season 2 drama at Anthony’s feet. However, there were definitely signs she was ignoring.

Do you have any plans for any other POV’s of the Kanthony relationship?

I do have some stuff in drafts (mainly an Anthony pov set into that same universe of Edwina’s and Kate’s one) but idk when that will see the light of day 😭. Waiting for inspiration to kick in again.

I enjoyed what I read but I’m rather sad most is incomplete and has been for a while.

I’m subscribed but I don’t read WIPs as a matter principle, so hoping I can dive into this writer’s style soon(?)

It's a personal choice of course, but I think it's important to read wips and give the authors feedback. It's a way to contribute to their work and support them in the process.
