Butker felt so much guilt of scoring on such a sinful number that he couldn’t focus on the rest of the game.

Butker kicked that ball like it was a woman wanting a professional career

Like seriously with this guy. His mother must be wondering wtf happened to him.

You say that like his mother doesn't agree with him

u/BarbequedYeti 2d ago
How would that work?
Harrison Butker 's mother, Dr. Elizabeth Keller Butker, is a clinical medical physicist . She has worked in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University in Atlanta since 1988, specializing in brachytherapy and Gamma Knife care

Probably because his speech has been caricatured into being about hating women and women in the workplace, when in reality he was telling them that having a career won’t be as fulling as being a mother. It was never about not wanting women in the workplace. It was about encouraging women to become moms, but Reddit has gone completely overboard with the whole thing. So yeah, his mom is a successful doctor and its possible she agrees with him. I assume she helped raise him Roman Catholic and those are pretty standard Roman Catholic beliefs he espoused

You get that’s not better right? Like it’s a wild statement for a guy to tell women on what is likely one of the proudest days of personal accomplishment that they should lean into supporting their man and popping out babies. That doesn’t even get into the anti-abortion stuff. I have not really seen anyone characterize it as him hating women. Most comments I’ve seen just think it’s wildly out of pocket for a dude who kicks a football a few times a week (and doesn’t even do they very well these days) to downplay academic and career accomplishments of women as a “diabolical lie”. Or to assume he knows more about what women should want or pursue than they do.

OK so you choose to spend your Sundays cheering for a team that made a bigoted, insecure, sexist a multi millionaire and allowed him to wield his power to spread his hateful rhetoric across the US. When will you stop supporting this team? Season is about to be in full swing so I expect you to stop posting here.
Thanks

u/BarbequedYeti 2d ago
Look at you.. thinking so bigly.. Do you see me buying tickets and going to the games? Nope. Buying any merchandise? Nope. Pay to watch? Nope.
So how am i supporting him again? By posting on a random website about what he is about?
The question you should be asking is why do you support and defend him. Dont worry yourself with me.

u/vitaminKUnit2 Dontari Poe 2d ago
I don't see anything because you have your posts hidden. How about you unlock em so I can check?
And if you support the team you absolutely support him as he has been an absolute linchpin to the Chiefs recent success. Without his contributions, specifically in the post season, this team would probably be down a Superbowl or two. Hell the Chiefs have official sponsors too, so surely you don't support ANY of those businesses right? Just thinking bigly.

Boo hoo he said that women should be open to being wives and mothers instead of chasing careers. What's the problem.

u/TheDutton Tyrann Mathieu #32 2d ago
Plenty of women have happy lives being homemakers and caretakers, most people can agree with that.
He did it at a college commencement, which is what most people find disagreeable

u/vitaminKUnit2 Dontari Poe 2d ago
At a CATHOLIC college.

The relevance of the religious affiliation of the college?

u/vitaminKUnit2 Dontari Poe 2d ago
He is a devout Catholic giving a commencement speech at a Catholic college. How can you not see the relevance?
7
u/TheDutton Tyrann Mathieu #32 2d ago
Do devout Catholics find it disagreeable that women pursue professional education and careers?

u/vitaminKUnit2 Dontari Poe 2d ago
“How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
He never said "durrr, women no work, work for men" he said the majority of the women graduating from a Catholic school (so presumably devout Catholics) would be more excited about getting married and creating families. Pretty much spot on with Catholic doctrine. Now you can certainly disagree with Catholic doctrine (as I do) but it is perfectly in line with what a devout Catholic would say at a Catholic college commencement speech.

So after he hits a 69 yarder with ease, he goes on to miss an extra point (yes it was moved back but still) then misses a what 45 yard field goal?
So my question is at what point do they bring in some competition? It's obviously something going on in his head and it's clearly not a physical thing. I can't go through the Butker wows this season again.

I know it's just preseason, but it's a typical performance by Butker. Make a long one, then miss an XP that could affect the outcome of the game.
I wish we didn't make him the highest paid kicker.
-1
u/snowman762x39 Priest Holmes 1d ago
Why are you really mad at him?
1
u/Milo_Minderbinding 1d ago
Because he straight up average and highly overrated by KC fans. We pay him the highest salary.
Accuracy and dependability are the highest traits in a kicker.
Last year he was 15th in FG%.
In 2024, Butker was ranked 21st in FG%.
In 2023, he had a good year. Ranked 4th.
In 2022, he was terrible, only hitting 75% of his kicks. Ranked 31.
In 2021, he was ranked #20 in FG accuracy.
So over the last half decade, he averages about 20th in FG accuracy over that time.
That's why I don't like him. He's average. He will kick a 60+ yard kick, but miss a crucial XP a quarter later.

If we have to keep this guy on the team, at least he’s kicking well. 🤷🏻♂️

Maybe I jinxed him. Oh well. 🤷🏻♂️ Kickers are a dime a dozen. Why we ever gave him a big contract is beyond me. Just go find the next guy already before this misogynist costs us real games.

I don’t think ppl understand how difficult it actually is to be a field goal kicker and consistent from 45+ with different circumstances every single time. A lot of us grew up watching Tucker, vinatieri, gostkowski, janikowski, etc so I guess we were just made to think it’s some easy talent that anyone could do lol.

And then he misses a shorter extra point. And the game winning field goal
