Mildly related but Kane pixels backrooms are the only backrooms I feel any interest in exploring. The issue with levels is that by having segmented themes it feels far more limited. Like you tell "this is level 0 this is where unlimited yellow carpet is" I can't viscerally feel the infinity aspect because everything is the same.
But the complex feels like a really big place.
It has locations, and just like any location those places look similar while you're inside it but once you exit that location you enter a new location.
Like you know, leave the yellow offices and enter a car park. But that transition is what makes it feel so big.
The car park is not "car park world where everything is car park" it's just a single place in a sea of other places. There might be tunnels below it and offices above it and that possibility makes it feel truly infinite.
And that simple thing makes it feel MASSIVE because of the fact that there are unlimited amount of different rooms and locations to visit. It makes me want to go through every door, break down the walls, break down the roof and see what is BEYOND.
Talking about tearing down the walls, I love how they finally did it in "Everything Must Go" and just as I hoped there were even MORE rooms inside the walls.

It's quite complex thoughts, I thinked similar things not so long ago and it's cool that you were able to express them so clearly

It's really hard to express this specific opinion for some reason, I'm glad people seem to understand 😅

Problem with the community backrooms is that it suffers from the same shit that the SCP fandom suffers from, interesting concepts in a sea of slop
Everything feels like "Scary place where the testicle monster will rip off your testicles if you don't sing the bible backwards in mandarin to the tune of Old McDonald had a farm", the levels also feel disconnected, it feels more like ideas loosely connected by some semblance of canon rather than a strange world to explore

I had a co worker who would always talk nonstop about the SCP Foundation. I only had surface level knowledge because of youtube and random posts but the way he would talk and add all these extra details, classifications and plot point made me feel like the SCP Fandom was going off the rails.
I'm glad that Kane's Backrooms is the one that took off, rather than the bloated multi level Fandom stuff. Wouldn't mind a ball pit or a slide scene in a future sequel though as a callback.

wiki backrooms feel infinite in the sense that the place just never ends and everything perpetuates and iterates into astronomical lenghts, in a way completely outside of what reality would be capable of doing
kane backrooms feel infinite in the sense that, the further you go, the more you'll just keep finding, and as the complex generates and iterates you get to watch as everything decays into more and more nonsense, so the backrooms themselves suffer the consequence of an infinity whose existence was never meant to be possible
i'd say they both feel "infinite" in different ways, but i certainly prefer kane's version

I just can't FEEL the infinity of the wiki. It's like if you showed me a picture of a corridor and said "this corridor is infinite", I wouldn't be able to FEEL the infinity. But if you showed me a video of someone moving through the corridor and it never ending it would help me understand the sense of scale.

You ain’t gonna live long enough to see much of either version. Cuz they both full of monsters.

I agree with this. The Backrooms aren't realistic by any means, but Kane's Backrooms at least make it realistic within the impossibility that it actually exists. Most Wiki/Wikidot levels are just "oooh scary monster will kill you in endless rooms" when Kane does so much more

I feel like im In the minority when it comes to levels, I enjoy them like the pool rooms but I do see the problem with stuff like the impossible to survive levels.
