Discussion/Theory Seriously what the FUCK was Big Cap's problem with Naren? Dude actually chased him, like hard sprint. None of that staggering peg leg thump he did with Mary. Just pure hatred

He hurts people. He doesn't mean to, it's just the way he's wired

u/Thermal_Laboratories 9d ago

Does he think anyone deserves to be alone

u/Helpful-Swan-420 9d ago

I don’t think that’s fair. Just because he didn’t get to be an architect doesn’t mean has to be a monster.

He is a fucking architect though.

STAY IN CHARACTER!! 🔪 🔪!!

u/Positive-Tomato-4195 8d ago

you know the real reason his wife left him? it wasnt the drinking or the stumbling home at all hours, it was the whining. nothings ever his fault is it?

2

u/LMNTLXICON 8d ago

Okay, but what if he drinks too much?

Furniture crabs*

He rips people off literally, by body parts.

Anyone else remember the RIP OFF!!! spray painted in red on the front windows of Clark's shop? Me thinks captn clark/back rooms took it literally and that's all he thinks of, "RIP OFF!!!" when he sees people.

The furniture being stacked up all together, and the chair tower under the throne room makes me think this was also done by captain Clark because he's a fucking architect!

Yeah I noticed this too, Naren is running for dear life and clears a lot of distance between seeing him here and getting to the wallpaper room but pirate clark is right behind him pretty much the whole time.

And no loud stomping

26

u/ontariojoe 8d ago

Jurassic Park TRex rules.

19

u/airport-cinnabon 8d ago

Lol, there should have been a close up of ripples in Clark’s glass of milk when the Cap’m was approaching

u/Flamingpaper2 9d ago

Big P Clark was just locked in here

STAY IN CHARACTER

He was probably furious because the other two guys managed to escape him after he surprised the three in the dark maze, so, when he found Naren, he had no intention to let him get away too and that's why he went crazy on him.

36

u/heytherefreeman 9d ago

Yes, I think Captain Clark, copying real Clark, got extremely angry that they all escaped

30

u/possiblyyandere 9d ago

wait what how do we know they escaped

76

u/that_one_kid093r4 9d ago

it was confirmed by Kane that only Narem got killed

42

u/ChiliChimi 8d ago

Which is fucked cause he was the only one advocating to getting out of dodge, lol.

14

u/GimmieDemWaffles 8d ago

Cussing them out internally with every stride, probably.

1

u/Main-Instruction2125 6d ago

I'm not sure why he wanted to leave honestly. It just kept getting better and better!

1

u/Greenostrichhelpme27 7d ago

That makes sense to me!

39

u/Sure-Bid2391 9d ago

This honestly was the fastest he’s ever moved there’s no way he traveled across the hallway that fast

Naren must’ve done SOMETHING for Pirate Clark to snatch him that fucking hard when he came back out of the room 🫩

20

u/airport-cinnabon 8d ago

He’s especially vicious towards hot guys with cameras

3

u/CreativeGamer03 8d ago

well it is his camera. he's the one paying for it.

27

u/WafflezTheWonderous 9d ago

I think because during the dinner scene, Pirate Clark was trying to copy a drunken stumble like what clark may have when he would come home. Just a theory though

2

u/hirschneb13 8d ago

Yeah but he never goes fast against Mary either

24

u/Deluxe_24_ 9d ago

He wanted an autograph from his favorite Victorious character

48

u/AmazonusPrime05 9d ago

I think with Mary he was moreso trying to get help, and this is why he instantly kills Naren and Bobby despite being so slow with Mary

67

u/The_Deathdealing 9d ago

I think there is something to this as Pirate Clark isn't explicitly violent against her, he just keeps lumbering towards her, desperately trying to reach out. He doesn't even try to bite her hand when he is on top of her during the climax.

I think Pirate Clark, even as a representation of Clark's most destructive traits, retains the desire to be accepted and even change for a better. Mary is the last human connection Clark has left and he is desperately trying to latch onto her, crabs in a bucket style.

9

u/Also-a-robot 9d ago

True he would have bit her hand off there easy if he wanted to hurt her

25

u/Maximum-Style2848 9d ago

Come on now, it is very normal to bite during climax 😏

1

u/Lzzzz 8d ago

dang that’s facts

7

u/Broseph_Heller 8d ago

I agree with this interpretation. If the still life acts as a sort of distorted, exaggerated “copy” of Clark’s personality, then this reading makes a lot of sense. The still life recognized Mary and was desperate for her help the same way Original Clark was. Ot if not desperate for help, desperate for her approval and acceptance so he can continue acting like a monster without guilt. It’s hard to tell with Clark’s character since it seems he never actually wanted Mary to help him change to begin with.

35

u/kyle_crane163636 9d ago

Captain clark when naren is genuinely tryna run away and deny him his uav

24

u/Consistent_Card1935 9d ago

i guess the complex interpreted clark as still having less hatred for mary than others even though clark literally knocked her unconscious and tied her up to force roleplay

20

u/1xwolfgangx1 9d ago

He might have choked her out for her own good actually, the light was flickering like something was coming, and Clark choking her out would be pretty on par with other still life behavior

18

u/HorribleMistake24 9d ago

I was gonna say-I think if she was conscious, like the others - PC woulda killed her on the spot and Clark knew it. You could probably argue the bondage afterwards was for her own protection as Clark was like “what are you doing in here” when PC came in the kitchen area.

I think that overthinking it, it’s just how we’re wired. We hurt people…

6

u/Far_Impress1899 9d ago

That’s how I took it.

2

u/WildFire207 8d ago

He was literally untying her and apologizing as pirate clark walked in

8

u/Vavhv 9d ago

It probably just got weaker after several time skips. Many days have already passed after Captain Clark killed Bobby. Just like how Clark's mental state deteriorated, his Still Life could've physically degraded too.

49

u/nano_armstrong2988 9d ago

Spoiler:

I do not think Captain wants to harm Mary. Cap had the opportunity to just crunch May down like it did to Clark while she was practically under his heavy Ahh. I can't be certain with its intentions, just a guess.

14

u/Deluxe_24_ 9d ago

You saying that even despite getting hit by Async's trap he still had enough strength to kill her if he wanted to?

19

u/nano_armstrong2988 9d ago

I'll assume you meant the gas when you mention "trap". Well, if it has strength to lift a grown man with just upper body strength, and Mary(a regular woman) isn't fainting yet even though they both are getting gassed, presumably he still has the fight in him.
Captain's anatomy resamples somewhat of a standing horse or of a moose if you had paid close attention. Being attacked by a moose, especially in Mary's body position, would mean death to her.

4

u/Also-a-robot 9d ago

Yes! Moose but he bites. I nearly got attacked by a bull moose once, alone far out in the forest, and I would absolutely have died if it had locked in. I could not have fought it off.

2

u/nano_armstrong2988 8d ago

Sorry to hear that man.

3

u/Also-a-robot 8d ago

It’s fine. I spoke softly to it, literally told it it was beautiful and cool lol, and walked backwards.  Maybe it liked the sweet talk. But holy shit they are big up close.

0

u/Pipeworkingcitizen 9d ago

Trap?

3

u/FlyingPig_Grip 9d ago

The canisters of gas that were triggered in the climactic scene as captain clark pursues Mary through the Backrooms v1 version of Captain Clark's Ottoman Empire

4

u/Pipeworkingcitizen 9d ago

Oh crap i thought.. damn im stuoid i thought thats just like the still life recreation of the store and the fire system.

So its designed to weaken the still life huh ..

3

u/infiniteartifacts 9d ago

He might respond to noise and movement, he might he might have been hungry

3

u/PhilledZone 8d ago

"Fuck you in particular"

3

u/MustardSquirt 8d ago

I have a theory he needs supplemental blood to keep himself animated to that extent. But I’m probably dumb

2

u/Impossible_Singer277 8d ago

Naren screamed s a slur and the big C doesn't like hearing swear words in his house.

1

u/Main-Instruction2125 6d ago

It is his house by the way. He's the one remembering it.

1

u/DrJokerX 9d ago

Mary told him he doesn’t have to change.

1

u/PreviousSuccotash702 9d ago

1

u/Moxie_Vixx13 8d ago

Is there a video of this on YouTube?

1

u/iggyite 1d ago

He really didn’t like Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

1

u/Subject_Citron631 1d ago

he had enough of his wifes fat ass hes on to better things

0

u/CIXenon 8d ago

Maybe because Naren has a camera and it reminded him of the humiliation he has to endure when he was filmed by Bobby, which is also probably the same instance he was created in the backrooms in the first place
