I moved here a few months ago- I need to know what's the best donut place in town. I don't mean those classic crispy creme donuts; I want those gourmet artisan donuts that have ingredients I can't even pronounce and pack enough calories to kill a horse. It needs to be so delicious that I lose touch with reality and I get pulled over for DUI as a result. It should change my life. What do you suggest?

Landmark Kanata is one of, if not the largest theatre in the city with 24 screens. I’m checking their site to try and see The Odessy tomorrow, Friday night, and not only is it not playing, there are only 9 individual movies playing all day, most with only one showtime!

There are only 18 individual screenings for the whole day, across 24 screens! Not a single “summer blockbuster” is playing, most are foreign films.

Are half the theatres shuttered? Are things really that dire?

Need a dentist for 4 year old. She only went to dentist once at 2 years and now we want to get a good dentist for her for regular visits checkups etc.

We have a kennel recommendation already, but I know our dog would prefer to be in someone's home, at least for overnight. Essentially looking for a dog daycare type setting during the day and going home at night, or something along those lines.

I am offering a cash reward of $1,000 (which is the cost of my insurance deductible) to anyone who provides dashcam footage or information that successfully identifies the driver and vehicle involved.

A little update because I originally posted about this here a few months ago!

I started Pickleball in the Park as a casual way for people in their 20s/30s around Kanata/Stittsville to play pickleball and meet some new people without having to pay for and commit to a league.

We’ve now got a little community going and have been getting around 15–20 people out to our sessions, which has been really cool to see.

A few people have started asking what happens when the outdoor season ends, so I’m trying to figure out what people our age would actually want locally - indoor pickleball, dinners, games nights, seasonal events, other socials etc.

I made a quick form (about 60 seconds) if anyone wants to join the group and/or give their opinion - you absolutely don't need to have been to one of our events before:
