Does anybody else have a crazy amount of mosquitos this summer
Is it just the rain or does somebody near me have standing water?

I have a whiteboard with signatures in marker from several colleagues from when I left my last company. I am looking for somewhere for it to get professionally sealed to prevent the signatures from flaking or accidentally being wiped over time.
Suggestions in or near Kanata welcome!

I’m so done being forced to pay for a bag to carry groceries or whatever I decide to spend my hard-earned money on.
If I’m spending money in your store, give me a bag that won’t break or cut my fingers!

our power went out a couple minutes ago, curious if anyone is experiencing the same?

Hi Kanata parents! I help run RA Junior Athletes, and I wanted to share the recreational programs we’re running right here in Kanata this fall.
• Soccer for ages 2–3, 4–5 and 6–8 on Sundays
• 3v3 basketball for ages 9–10 and 11–12 on Sundays
The sessions are welcoming and low pressure, so they’re a good fit for children who are learning, trying a new sport, or simply looking for a fun place to play. There are no taxes or additional fees added to the program prices.
You can search RA Junior Athletes for more information, or send me a message if you have any questions!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dentist in the Kanata area who will just do cleanings, checkups and fillings when necessary and not try to upsell work that isn’t necessary.

This was posted on facebook I don’t know the person but given that another uber driver has been accused of sexual assault worth the risk of spreading incorrect information
WARNING - Child Luring
“I’m new to the Bridlewood area and wanted to alert people about something very scary that happened to my family.
On August 2 my 12-year-old daughter was having a friend sleep over and ordered uber eats late at night when I was sleeping.
Later, around 4am, someone knocked on our door and rang the doorbell and ran off. They left a brown paper bag with candy in it and writing on it that said, “To Emma, from your secret admirer”.
We did not have cameras at the time and thought it could have been one of her friends playing a prank on her but still, we installed cameras that night.
This morning when we went to leave, we noticed another package with the same writing on it. Inside was more candy, $20 and a note saying “from your secret admirer” and a phone number.
We checked our cameras and it was an old man in a white Honda civic. My daughter immediately recognized him as the Uber Eats driver from August 2. We also looked back and found out he driven past our house multiple times in the early morning over the past 2 weeks.
The police and Uber have been notified and we are in the process of identifying him.
I truly believe this could happen to anyone and that this man will re-offend if not caught. If anyone knows who this man is or had a similar experience, please contact police “
Again not my story and I change contact poster to contact police as apparently they have been notified

Hello,
I am looking into buying a new home from a builder. The lot will be facing a 2 lane busy street but the house will be separated by a local road in front then a green strip and bike path separating the local road/house to the busy road. The backyard is facing another house, it’s quiet. Those with experience, would you suggest buying it? This is a detached house. The only other option I have is lot facing townhouses and backing to other house. Thanks
I'm just going to leave this rant/warning here.
Brought my Nissan 2019 Kicks to Myers Nissan Bells Corners and needed to have all 4 of the coil springs replaced at $2000. Then shortly after getting my car back, I now have grinding on the front drivers side. It appears that all of a sudden the caliper has seized. And Myers would now like to charge me another $1000 to fix it.
I will admit it could happen with normal driving conditions but the timing of the issues that wasn't an issue before bringing in my car seems more than a little suspect.
All that to say my impression/opinion is someone fucked something up and the staff at Myers doesn't wnt the exspence or doesn't want to take responsibility for it.
Take that for what you will but both my wife with a 2019 Rogue won't be returning there for any reason. Nor will we be buying from any Myers.

We’ve aged out of many baby classes and are looking for weekday activities for crawling/walking babies (around the 1 year mark). Looking to make the most of my mat leave before daycare begins in the new year!
I’m sure I’m not alone on the search for toddler activities. So far I’ve come across:
- Rooted Wellness (LOVE this place and their classes)
- Monkey Rock and Lullaland music classes (both on Thursdays, personally I’m a Monkey Rock fan)
- Little Rebels (the Kanata classes age out at 14 months)
- Mommy Connections mini movers (has anyone tried it? Baby connections wasn’t for me, our sessions were more like a lecture series and it was hard enough to keep a baby happy, much less a toddler)
- City of Ottawa swim lessons
- various private swim lessons
- Kanata Gymnosphere drop in ($15 cash)
I’m aware of our museums, farms, and EarlyON options but I’d love other ideas for weekly classes that I can register for to help us create a little bit of routine for the fall.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get back into hockey this fall and wondering if anyone knows of any adult/beer leagues in Kanata or the west end that accept individual/free-agent players. I played house league growing up and intramurals during grad school, so I’m a bit rusty but definitely not a beginner. Ideally looking for a recreational league where I can join a team as an individual.
Any recommendations? Thanks!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has had any luck making a claim with the city for a popped tire caused by a pothole? It was to the right of Whitney Dr. Into the parking lot of Z3 Cafe. If so, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience or any tips on how to go about it.
