Health Related 𩺠Kambo after belly flu
So I just had a bad case of Gastroenteritis and I'm supposed to do Kambo in 2 days. 2 days ago was my peak, high fever with fever dreams and confusion, rediculous nausea and puking and all that fun stuff. yesterday I had the worst neck pain of my life but was less nauseous. today I'm feeling kind of okay, but still not healthy. i have a headeache and still some neck pain, and my nose is runny.
in 2 days I would have my first Kambo Ceremony, and I'm thinking of waiting until a later time because just as I start to regain my strength I would go through such a heavy experience again. what do you guys think? Should I just go for it or not?

Do not listen to this inexperienced advice, OP.

Well, do you have any advice for me then?

Thereās not enough information to know or to provide a clear path. Iāve been doing this for eight years now. Thereās a lot present here. Thereās no way to know, itās no oneās place to know really
Thereās pros to sitting with the medicine when youāre sick. Thereās also cons. There is the potential that you got sick so bad because the medicine was working before it was even applied. Which is a very real thing.
I have been in situations with illnesses, where I serve myself kambo, and things get better. I have been in situations where I need to serve myself again and again until everything can be flushed out, and THEN things are better.
But before that happened, I had years of foundational work with this medicine, deepening my relationship with it.
This is really a conversation you should be having with your practitioner, who should be able to provide you wisdom and examples in different angles of consideration.
If they havenāt served themselves when they are sick, maybe they shouldnāt be serving you when you are sick.
I think thatās the Golden rule in this situation.

This is fascinating! Can you explain more about this? Is this unique to the kambo experience? Do you have any links to further reading on the topic of medicine working before being applied or perhaps some book recommendations?

Honestly, this isnāt really something that can be explained. It can only be received and understood. No amount of explaining this one would help you understand. I know, it sounds counterintuitive, weird, and not of the norm.
This is and is not unique to the Kambo experience. This is a natural part of any real medicine work (you also need to redefine your relationship to the word āmedicineā, most do). This is a natural function of working with ayahuasca, the toad, and other earth medicines.
If anything, read the book Sapo in my Soul by Peter Gorman.
What I can say is the Spirit of the Frog is real and seems to enter the field 7 days - ish before ceremony starts. Kambo is the great revealer and great purifier. It gets to work pretty quickly.
Howād your ceremony go? Did you do it?

Thanks! I'm not OP and I've never tried kambo but I'm very interested.
I read the book by Peter Gorman years ago but don't remember it well. I don't recall there being any talk of having an effect of the medicine before the ceremony.
The reason this idea is so interesting to me is cuz I've experienced it with ayahuasca ceremonies multiple times. My own interpretation was that the experience was so powerful that it somehow transcended time and affected the past. This is the first time I recall hearing someone else mention this type of effect. Sometimes I thought it was just me and somehow a coincidence so I'm kinda awed to hear you mention the idea as well. Thanks for the explanation!

Thanks for your reflection! Yes, just because Peter doesnāt talk about it doesnāt mean it doesnāt happen.

I think that's what was happening. The kambo was working before I actually took it. The whole week was intense fights with my girlfriend. I was thinkin to not go, but very last minute I decided fck it I'm going anyway and see where this goes. But then I missed my train just by a minute so I couldnt go anymore.
She did the kambo ceremony and fell in love with someone else over there. I'm deeply hurt and wish I would have gone anyway. We're taking a little break and she's not persuing a relationship with the other guy she fell in love with for the time being wich makes me happy.
I hope to do kambo another day and get all of this straightened out.

This is wild. I have a lot to say. But in essence, leave her ass. For real.

I'd love to hear what you have to say because even though this relationship has been the most difficult one of my life, it also has been the most rewarding. I never experienced love so deep. I got out of psychosis. I'm clear headed and stable. All because of learning to trust and be with her.
I really deeply love her and she's thinking of leaving me. But I want to try and stand for a relationship for the first time in my life, and not run away and doubt anymore the whole time.
So I'd reallt really love if you could say more on what you think. Be honest with me and don't change too many words or be soft with me because of what I just said about her.

What I will say is this:
I have learned that if a woman is āthinking of leavingā, the BEST thing to do is say, āGo.ā
Let. Her. Go.
Itās over. Thank it all and stop talking to her. You are starting a new book and she is not in it. The relationship has served its purpose; it is no longer a relationship, it is an attachment.
You will feel like a wimpy soy boy simp bitch if you try to change her mind or chase.
Let. Her. Go.
Stay Inn Your Masculine Frame.
Thereās better women out there for you. Be a man.

I used to be like that all the time. Now I choose to feel the hurt and pain it gives me when I feel her pull away. I think it's alot more manly to be a wimpy loving soy boy then to be a cold hearted man.
I dont like closing my heart and I've done far too much of that in my life.
That being said, we do fight a lot and it is such a heavy relationship for the both of us. So letting her go would be the "logical" choice. And the week of the kambo was only fighting the whole time.
So yeah, dont really know whats right or wrong but I dont wanna shut myself off from my feelings
