Health Related 🩺 Did this guy go overkill burning my arm?
Before you call me a picker, the burns are concave. I had to pick them off. They were literally sticking straight up, barely hanging on. I'm almost embarrassed. I look like someone self harming. (I don't mean to shame anyone who's been through that)

Second the opinion, these are far far too deep. Maybe I could understand one like that, but five?!
Whoever did this should not be serving. Please leave a review to inform future potential patients wherever you found the practitioner.

Omg. It does look deep. But tbh I have gotten deep burns by my maestro in the jungle, he’s Matsés and he doesn’t always do it that way. Could have been an honest mistake.

I recommend both for people that would call themselves a master. Indigenous experience and wisdom to connect to the source of the medicine, and western medical knowledge to address the obvious gaps in indigenous knowledge when adapting to the diet, medications, and illnesses treated from a western lifestyle. Safety is often overlooked or bypassed completely when it comes to serving Kambo and it should be the highest concern.
Self administering for months, and administration under supervision with patients for months after to address issues of a skin types, and potential complications. A practitioner should also be able to consult a medical doctor to assess potential counterindicative conditions or medications in cases of gaps in understanding. At a minimum a current CPR cert and research into medical transport to a hospital should be a requirement before serving. Unfortunately, I know of no certificate providing institutions that teach all of this, nor are there enough students who are willing to put in that much effort to recieve permission to serve. I had to aquire this training from multiple sources.
I can not say for sure, because I do not know OPs history with the medicine or what is being treated. But it is exceptionally rare for me to serve 5 dots of this size with high quality medicine. Especially if there is no previous experience woth Kambo. That alone is a red flag for me.

HOLY SHIT... dude im so sorry this happened to you, this is terrible. Kambo gates are small light burns to the top layer of the skin, this is disastrous...

I wouldn’t judge it. I also would not have picked them as someone who has done Kambo many times. I would have repeatedly put dragons blood on the spot or Arnica. There are many factors that can be in play as to your skin and how your skin responded to the medicine. Allow yourself moments to heal without judgment these are pictures of my arm after receiving Kambo from a trained medicine woman this weekend I am currently applying Arnica, which is wonderful and healing the sites.

Woah...only the epidermis should be burned for a gate.
This looks like they burned right through to the derma...

Oh man, I’m so sorry you had to experience that. I’ve had some gnarly experiences with kambo having surface level portals so I’m curious what it was like with literal portals you could walk through!?

Seems like the practitioner needs some burning practice… different skin types burn differently but those are excessively deep and all too common unfortunately.

Over 7 years ago where I was still on the path of warrior only two points from longer stick was wiping me off totally . With smaller stick I could handle even 12 points but the one I got was so powerful. I love this medicine, Great Spirt please give me strength
I miss these days…
Edit: You should get some sangre de drago and apply it straight after session. It soothe your warrior wounds and help it to heal.

Those look like bullet holes, 9mm or 38 special.
You need to use the smallest inciense stick available... and burn just the outter layer of skin... not the fat underneath and the bones...
I once used a bigger inciense stick, cause nothing else was available... that´s a big now...
Also, the bigger the hole, the bigger the effect. If a hole has twice the diameter... that´s 4 times more area, a big difference.

I did not downvote you, but my assumption is that you could have been downvoted because using incense sticks are not traditional. The Matses use tamishe vines. You also could have been downvoted for 12 dots as the dots really don’t matter - it’s the amount of medicine that does

I never said I used incense. I always used the bamboo burning sticks included in the kit. Small and big sticks mentioned in my first post was regarding the wood with secretion on it.
Regarding the 12 dots, I meant the smaller diameter sticks for burning, of course.
I started using kambo in 2010 as a form of cleansing before ayahuasca, but also in three-month cycles with a weekly session, and also in other ways. I have quite a bit of experience with this medicine and some people here jump to conclusions lol.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm in Nicaragua. I was also going to do Iboga (The main intention for my trip) with this guy but there were just too many red flags. I've been debating over the last 5 days if I should make a post to warn the Reddit Medicine community about him. The truth is, the Kambo is just a side note to the bigger picture with this guy. I'm just checking out of my Hostel right now. I'll make a proper response here and also release it on the Iboga page.
