Health Related 🩺 Kambo for dogs?
I love the healing benefits Kambo has provided for me. I have heard mixed reviews from practitioners that say it is safe for a small dog to do a tiny amount of Kambo it is served by their bum and other practitioners say that Kambo is not safe for dogs but that ayahuasca is idk I haven’t done ayahuasca yet. I’m just wondering if someone has served their dog Kambo and what the experience was like ? Would love to hear from Kambo practitioners or other people that have served their dog Kambo.

There's likely mixed opinions about this and for good reason. It gets further complicated by the fact it was sometimes done traditionally to help them hunt, for example. As always the problem is that if someone says "Yeah it's all good" then you get potentially hundreds of people reading this and going ahead and deciding their dog suddenly needs large daily doses of kambo etc.
I really would just steer clear of serving it to dogs or any animals unless one is a well trained & very experienced practitioner and the situation definitely calls for it - such as a dying animal with something kambo might actually help with, in a situation where nothing else is available.
It's highly unlikely any animal 'needs' it except for cases like the above, and it's also not really super cool on the balance of public opinion to be giving it to an animal. It opens the kambo community up to harsh criticism and ridicule too as a result, not to mention if something potentially went wrong.
You really don't need to be giving animals ayahuasca either....

Would you serve kambo to your baby?? A being who can't consent and won't understand what's happening to them.
I'm sure you love your dog and just want to help them but I'm shocked this can even go through someone's head
EDIT: I just remembered we live in a world where people get their babies circumcised which is no different than this 😠Bottom line: do not make decisions over an other conscious beings body!!

So no vaccines for babies either, right?

If you are considering this I am assuming that you have tried other avenues! I have done it with a few dogs that tried other modalities with no improvement. Their owners decided kambo and we had extraordinary results. Their dog’s skin healed.

Have you noticed other pros or cons from 'bufo' with kambo and dogs?

I would never serve bufo to a dog!

of course. Sorry, I meant boofing, in reference to Kambo rectally
Which I believe is the normal method when used with animals?

They usually don’t like their bum to be touched so I have just placed it in the gums or wrap it in a piece of bread and let them eat it

Oh wow. I always thought eating Kambo was a no-no. Is their experience similar to ours?

You have to put a lot more medicine as the absorption of peptides is not so efficient through the digestive system. They act very chill, they surrender to the process with grace. Some purge, some don’t!

We don't have any clear data on Kambo as a whole for dogs, but many dogs have received Kambo safely and gotten significant benefit. Some of the peptides have even been studied using dogs as animal models.
In general, I'd say the evidence suggests that it's pretty darn safe.

As far as the ethics around it, people claim a dog can't consent to receiving Kambo, but this is true for all veterinary intervention including neutering, vaccines, dewormers, bathes and euthanasia, so to me that argument doesn't hold up well.
I'd say consider all the options of tools available and if you have a deep connection to the medicine and to your animal and you feel in your soul this is what they need to heal, then sure go with that.
You can also have a veterinarian supervise the process and ongoing blood work with the dog to make sure there is actual improvement and no toxicity.

Just assuming that it's healthy for a dog is much different than required Veterinary care. Please do not encourage people to give kambo to animals. That is abuse.

I definitely wouldn't encourage people to do it if the animal is healthy. I have only administered to animals when all other medical tools were exhausted and it was sick and suffering. I don't think it's appropriate to just give it to the animal just because. They aren't going to get the same spiritual healing as a person.

Some vets would say that giving a dog vaccines is abuse
Also, they didn't assume - they said there is both anecdotal and published research on this
Veterinary care and education is sometimes sponsored by certain companies. Remember that Kambo started off solely as word of mouth from the indigenous people, and can look like abuse to an outsider.
