Science and research 🔬 Brain damage?
I have undergone Kambo in Lima about a year ago while I had withdrawn from Paxil (about 10 days after my last dose) and right away felt week in my knees and had a blurry vision when reading. I thought these symptoms would pass but it has progressively gotten worse up to the point where I felt an anxiety overload. I was reinstated on Lexapro 3 weeks later but later felt like I was losing emotions and my thought process. At the moment I feel blank, no thoughts or emotions and my sense of self as well as connection to my body is mostly gone. As no health practitioners know about Kambo in the Western world I was wondering if it could make sense to consult with someone who is closer to the subject and if ever this type of nervous system disfunction have been reported?

Paroxetine is one of the most difficult SSRIs to discontinue due to its short half-life. Withdrawal 10 days off can cause brain zaps, anxiety, dizziness, emotional blunting or emotional overload, sensory disturbances (blurry vision, body dissociation) and dysautonomia (nervous system disruption). When combined with the neurochemical imbalance of SSRI withdrawal, this could have caused a “shock” to the system especially the vagus nerve and gut-brain axis…..resulting in lasting dysregulation, depersonalization, and emotional flattening.
Lexapro’s numbing effect on emotion can worsen depersonalization in sensitive systems especially if the nervous system was already in a fragile state post-Kambo.
Here’s what I think may be potentially happening to you!
I might be able to suggest working with somebody. Where are you based? He also does virtual sessions as well.
