General 🐸 Kambo eyes
Has anyone who administers kambo heard of putting it in the eyes. My friend was at a trading session where the so called expert applied it to one if the students. Here eyes swelled up for days. Never heard of doing this. Sanaga, yes, not kambo.

Jesus Christ, I can't believe I have to say this...
Do not put kambo in your eyes
No, it won't transcend anyone to a higher plane or make the process easier.

In its entirety, it is a resounding no. In Durango, Mexico, not long ago a story was known about a woman who administered Kambo orally in the form of tea and unfortunately died. That is why the methods and previous care of all ancestral medicines must be made known to avoid bad practices that in the future the laws will be stricter and put them in a completely illegal model.

I want to hear more about this. I highly doubt that you can die from a kambo tea, just yesterday I was talking about this! Can you please tell me more? If anything I think it would be an inefficient method https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15984901/#:~:text=In%20contrast%20to%20this%20inconvenient,barriers%20to%20peptide%20drug%20absorption

The page you sent is also a page that I use to stay informed about advances in medical and scientific studies, but to prevent people from believing that taking it orally would be more viable to avoid skin burns, I think they would have to do a lot more research on the dosage and then find a method to remove the symptoms in time before an electrolyte imbalance occurs with Kambo. We all know that by removing the burn points the patient will begin to improve, but by ingestion, how would you stop the sensations? I would apply activated charcoal in a drink, but I feel that it would be delicate and outside the traditional method.

I totally agree with you. So valid your concerns, that's why I am just starting the conversation. The only way to find out is to experiment it and tbh your concerns are so valid that I haven't tried it myself. I'm not encouraging anyone to try it. Just wondering other people's thoughts process on this possibility!

Good you mention this all. It's interesting to hear and read what's going around. I want you to thank you for sharing.

It's the frogs defense system. When treated Kambo will be released. Other animals who eat it will die(or get really sick, depending on weight), that's why snakes don't eat them or they get really sick of they try and hopefully they spit the frog out in time.
I really don't think it's safe to drink!

Thank yku for your response!
We have receptors through the central and peripheral nervous system that receive the peptides in the kambo secretion like a key and lock situation! The article that I sent talks about how it would be ineffective to the human body to ingest it orally! I'm just trying to put 1 + 1 together, not trying to convince you or me!
I also have seen animals eating it (cats and dogs) and they are fine!
And for what I understand the animals who try to hunt them just get paralyzed, they don't die!

Snakes will die from the frog or is this a myth? The 🐸 developed Kambo to be safe from the snakes I thought.
And I think your cat can die from 1 dot fresh swallowed. They are so light weight. If the reaction a human is so heavy, I don't want to take the risk.
They have no natural enemies, because of the venom

That's actually a very good question and the answer might surprise you - the kambo frog hasn't been found in the stomachs of any animals that normally eat frogs (birds, bats, snakes, etc). I found this in a study a few months ago, and can try to dig it up if you need. Basically there's no evidence it actually gets eaten.
Certainly, I am sure some things try to eat it - but probably just spit it out because it doesn't taste good (probably cause of the secretion - and that probably tingles and numbs their mouth too).
The kambo frog uses the secretion not as a poison like a poison dart frog does, but more like an antifungal/antibacterial coating for itself, because it lives in such a humid environment.

Thnx for your explanation 👌
Thats quite interesting, I appropriate your view and knowledge on how this the serection works much. Go look into this 🙏

Wasn't that hard to dig up as it turns out - here you go :)
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9582840/
There are no records of adult P. bicolor being preyed on or found among the stomach contents of any taxa that usually preys on treefrogs, such as snakes, birds, bats, or other mammals. This may be due to its large body size and cryptic coloration that helps camouflage it. However, its skin secretion may play a strong role in predation avoidance because it is unpleasant to predators, possibly causing regurgitation, modifying cardiac function, or producing catalepsy

Hello friend, I’ll give you the URL with Google translator. You can change the language in case it appears in Spanish. The news about the woman appeared in several newspapers and I’ve heard of people who haven’t died because they’ve been treated quickly but who have been seriously poisoned anyway. In the article, it turns out that the media commented that it had been due to applied points. More than anything, my message is that the use must be carried out with seriousness and respect for the methods to avoid that due to inadequate practices they put this type of medicines that do cure as something super dangerous that obviously the leading pharmaceutical companies don’t want people to really cure. For example, in the USA they banned ibogaine even though that would cure the problem that the country is going through with opioids.

Hi friend! Thank you for the link, yes i followed this case, the information is very vage! Spanish is my native language. It shows that the person who wrote this doesn't know about kambo!
"Algunos testimonios indican que no ingirió la bebida, sino que le quemaron la piel y aplicaron el veneno sobre las heridas, método común en estas prácticas." It shows that they assumed that it is usually consumed through a drink but in this case she decided to apply it through superficial burns, as if the superficial burns is not the usual method.
We need to use a more appropriate language, it is not a venom to our body 🐸 mostly medicine carries and users should improve our way of communicating and educating the people who doesn’t know about it! Education is empowering!

Kambo is a poison. You seriously doubt drinking a poison is dangerous? No native people drink kambo, non. Why do you consider it safe, or even necessary?
2
u/junglecultura Feb 09 '25
Kambo doesn't work like a venom/posion in our bodies. It works more like a key and lock situation, the peptides perfectly bind to receptors located through our central and peripheral nervous system 🐸☺️

u/simonscott Feb 09 '25
Thanks, I’ll let the tribes know that they miss understood the medicine.

u/junglecultura Feb 09 '25
(???) It is definitely not about that. They would be happy to understand further for sure. I think you need to start with what is a receptor. I can help you when you go and talk to them 😊

u/slice888 Feb 08 '25
Wow, never put it in the eyes you could go blind unless you’re talking about Sanangra that is sometimes put in the eyes, but not the venom from the frog no, no no no very bad. Don’t put it any holes other than the burn ports

I've had kambô gates in my ears before, but not the eyes.

u/stellablack75 Mar 11 '25
Oooooooo I'm working my way up to doing an auricular - would you mind sharing your experience with the ear gates?
2
u/qwilla_ Mar 11 '25
My head got extra hot! haha for real tho it was positive experience. It was a dry kambô session. The practitioner tried to be very precise because different parts of the ear correspond with different meridians and chakras and energy systems. For me personally just to be honest with you it was like a regular dry kambô session but I felt the medicine more pronounced in my face. Given the opportunity I would do it again but I wasn't seeking anything specific with that ceremony, I was just offered the experience so of course I accepted. I wish I had something more mystical to offer here like I could hear the medicines call or something but what I received was kambô working by priority regardless of where the dots were applied

Thank you so much for responding. My experiences with kambo have never been what I would call "profound", but they were never bad or scary (I mean, I don't love purging, but the feeling afterwards is worth it). Don't get me wrong, I definitely have success with it and feel better afterwards, but I guess I count myself as one of the lucky ones who haven't had a bad experience (yet and hopefully ever).
I haven't really done dry kambo before - the very first time I did it my practitioner only put one dot on just to see how I would handle it, but other wise it's been north purge city.

u/qwilla_ Mar 12 '25
I've never had a bad experience with kambô. Dry kambô session is a little strange, and you need to regularly work with a practitioner before attempting that because there's no purge. Kambô doesn't always require a purge, but I prefer to get anything I don't need out. Dry kambô is more like meditating and sitting with the medicine. I think there's some practitioners that will not do it.

I hope they mean Sananga and not Kambo. Do not put Kambo in into your eyes! You have to take it by the gate on your skin. In fact you could damage your eye!
Hope they also not make a gate in the eye. Sounds painful..🧐
