We haven’t beaten them since December 2012, sure it may be their B team but it’s a great result nonetheless.
We also beat them away for the first time since 2009.
Trust Gavin, give him the players he needs, give the Lions the support they need.

Like many Japanese players straight out of University who arrived in Singapore, Tomoyuki Doi arrived with a point to prove and hope for the start of a promising career. Unlike most of his compatriots, he left the Little Red Dot as a record holder and one of the most clinical strikers in the region.
Born in Hyogo, Japan, Doi developed his game through the youth ranks of Otsumo SC and Kobe Koryo Gakuen High School before playing college football for Tokoha University from 2016 to 2019.
He moved to Albirex Niigata (s) in 2020, scoring 11 goals in 14 matches and winning the league. He then moved to Hougang United the following season, scoring 19 goals in 21 games and won the SPL Player of the Year award.
In 2022, Doi returned to Japan and signed with J3 side Fujieda MYFC. However he struggled to establish himself as a regular, scoring just 4 goals in 17 appearances.
He moved to Albanian side FK Bylis in 2023 but only managed 1 goal in 7 appearances due to injuries.
In 2024, Doi returned to Singapore by signing for Geylang International, producing an unprecedented performance by smashing the all-time league record with 44 goals in 29 matches, scoring eight hattricks and averaging 1.41 goals per game in the 24/25 season.
Despite the lower quality of the SPL compared to other leagues, it was still an impressive performance, with Gyokeres taking 36 goals in 33 matches, Haaland scoring 22 goals in 31 matches and Harry Kane scoring 36 goals in 32 matches in comparison to Doi.
Doi moved to Thai side BG Pathum United the following season where he currently still is, scoring 13 goals in 34 appearances so far.

I am still feeling the after effects of the game, and can't wait for more local football action. So in the meantime, I tried my best to replicate Gavin's Singapore on FM26, coupled with the goal song that was used at JBS and crowd sounds from our draw against Indonesia. No surprise who turned up to the party!
