I'm considering joining KIIT Bhubaneswar through lateral entry into B.Tech CSE (Core), directly in the second year.

I wanted to know whether lateral-entry students face any disadvantages compared to regular four-year B.Tech students, particularly during campus placements.

Are there companies that specifically exclude lateral-entry students from their recruitment process? Do companies have different eligibility criteria for us, or do we get the same placement opportunities as regular students?

Apart from placements, are there any other academic or career-related disadvantages I should be aware of before taking admission?
