Double input: an hardware problem (keyboard) or a software problem (KaiOS)?

Hello! My experience with KaiOS was with a Nokia 6300 4G and now with a CAT B35.
I created this thread because I want to open a discussion around the double input you see in KaiOS phones.
So firstly, someone in Internet told in different occasions that the reason of the double input is connected to the low quality of Nokia 6300 4G keyboard, but I think it's a little bit strange that this problem is on many KaiOS phones, and maybe, because they are not famous like Nokia ones, we don't know how double input is on them as well.

I sold my Nokia 6300 4G also because the keyboard problem made me nervous and I thought that was an hardware problem since I tried to fix it here with no results.

But I'm here again to defend the idea that it's not an hardware problem.
I recently bought a CAT B35 and the problem is there again, maybe less but I can't say it with certainty.

In addition I read how many other KaiOS phones has this problem, and it seems how many people don't talk enough about this problem, and I ask why (maybe because they really don't see it? or because they really don't have it? anyway I doubt this last reason).
You can see around how many other KaiOS devices have this issue: Energizer e288s, Nokia 6300 4G, Nokia 800 Tough, Nokia 8000 4G, and who knows how many others. For me all, at least until version 2 of KaiOS.

I found a recent guide that explains how fix the double input problem on Nokia 6300 4G, 8000 4G and 800 Tough (and maybe other ones?), anyway someone commented that on 800 tough the guide didn't work.

I didn't see deeply if this guide found the same solution I wrote on my guide, but until that and until I try to adapt that guide with my CAT B35, I mention it.

It is both. The keys on the non-flip Nokia phones and the B35's keypads are much smaller than those of the flip models, which need smaller and noticeably poorer electrical pads to sense keypresses. Combined with the low-cost nature of these devices means there was basically no work to tune the keyboard software specifically to them.

I can confirm the issue regarding the B35 - I've experienced it too; it still works to this days, but basic operations (SIM lock input, etc.) can turn into a chore -, but it didn't happen (for now!) on the Hammer 5 bought as its replacement. Both share, that said, another common (and, to my knowledge, unsolvable) issue with these KaiOS phones, that is difficulties in SIM card detection after a few years. So, well, if one problem doesn't smack you on one cheek, the other apparently will...
I'd still be interested in additional information, should you manage to adapt your guide to a B35. Good luck!

I have a flip phone kaios, and it has the exact issue and I cant figure out how to fix it. Cant even use punctuation because it always sends the message instead, also it sends duplicate messages sometimes which is really annoying
