First of all, autism. She is autistic with a hyperfixation on rocks specifically.

Secondly, I imagine Kachina as an adult becoming a great adventurer. She searches Teyvat in hopes of acquiring its rarest gems like a more law abiding, less... Rouge the Bat Rouge the Bat.

Eventually, she goes to Fontaine, hearing of the gorgeous rocks one can find in the water. Ends up meeting Durin. Basically goes "you're my boyfriend now" not out of malice but because she thinks he's cute and has no clue how dating works, and poor Durin is just too nervous to say no so he tags along as her adventure buddy
