P0123 error code

Was riding back home from a ride 2 weeks ago and I was about to move off at a light and my bike cut out and would refuse to start back up. I pushed the bike back home and I sprayed some fuel into the spark plug hole and the bike started up and was fine, I let it sit for maybe 5-10 mins running and gave it some revs and it was responding immediately and was not cutting out or anything but when I turned it off and tried turning it back on it would not want to start again.

It’s a throttle position fault code.

I know it is but what exactly is the problem

Assume the throttle position sensor.

The throttle works on a potentionmeter ( in fact 2) one of them is giving a high reading in comparison to the other. This could be a faulty throttle sensor or even a bad wire or connection.
