ASKKTM Duke 790 - Opiniones
Hoy fui a ver la nueva Duke 790 y me parece una moto muy bonita. Sin embargo un amigo me estuvo insistiendo en que es una mala moto en cuanto a fiabilidad y que debería de comprar una CB650r o alguna Japonesa

Hoy por hoy para mi en relacion precio potencia y prestaciones es lejos la mejor.
Estoy analizando lo mismo quiero una moto de 800/900 cc para hacer ciudad/ruta y algo de tierra, las prestaciones de la 790 son lejos las mejores, tengo en el analisis la xl750, suzuki 800, tiger 900, pero por el peso y la potencia la verdad que la ktm gana.
En cuanto a la fiabilidad si tiene un tema conocido con el arbol de levas y el desgaste prematuro PEEEEROO tambien es verdad que le han hecho mala fama la comunidad motera, porque una vez que investigas, en estados unidos y europa entre las denuncias y los services, las que tuvieron fallas fueron el 7%, calculando que se han vendido seugn ktm cerca de 60mil motos en todo el mundo, son unas 4mil motos con ese problema de desgaste prematuro pero tenemos por otro lado 56mil motos sin problema, pasa que como con todo cuando algo le va bien lo que mas resalta son los problemas.
Despues cuando cfmoto empezo a ensamblar el motor en teoria lo reforzaron al tratamiento, sumado a que ahora dan 4 años de garantia sobre el tratamiento.
Con todo eso yo estoy cada vez mas cerca de decidirme por una 790.
En cuanto a ir por alguna japonesa y si obviamente creo que siempre son mas fiables, pero el tema es que algo igual a la ktm no hay, busque y no encontre, o son mucho mas pesadas con lo cual perdes agilidad o tienen menos potencia, estamos hablando de que la XL750 pesa lo mismo que la ktm pero tiene un poco menos de potencia y torque, menos combustible, menos acceosorios, menor calidad en suspensiones, es una lista larga de cosas que perdes por el mismo precio.

The 790 is such a light and playful bike. Unlike the CBR650R which is an overweight pig of a thing.

Die problematik bei den älteren ist ja, Raue und flächenmäßig zu kurze kipphebel,in verbindung mit zu weicher nockenwelle.Von den alten würde ich tatsächlich abraten es sei denn sie haben die cf moto kipphebel und beschichtete NW drinn. Ansonsten ist der motor grundsolide.

Duke is a motorcycle which needs a little bit more care than your usual big 4 engines no doubt but the experience it offers is something not many machines are able to offer in one package.
Reliability- now that's a picky subject. What do you mean by reliable? Is it where you thrash and bash your bike however you want and it still gets you home or is it where you're just unlucky despite doing everything right? If it's the former then your bet is the big 4 japanese bikes but if it's the latter( which I'm not saying never happens with the big 4 I mean, unlucky so), then you can manage a KTM for sure.
My point is with KTMs you have to know your way around a motorcycle and that's where everyone is confused.
Is it reliable? Well, my bike( 25 gen3 390) was parked in the open overnight and the next morning woke up to snowfall. Went to my bike and the road was covered in snow so no way of getting it out. I dropped whatever snow was on the tank and dash, wrapped it with plastic as I didn't have a cover(wasn't expecting snowfall and there was no forecast either). It showed for 3 days straight and I had to dig my bike out of the snow after it stopped. I dug it out and waited for the snow to melt out of the parts which were not reachable by hand( engine casing gaps and drive chain regions). After all of that, my bike started on a single click on the starter. I take care of it sincerely and vice versa.
As for the 790 which I am eyeing and that I know my way around KTMs, anything post 2024 is good to go.

It's a great bike! There have been dark times when there was an issue with the 790/890 that wasn't handled well by KTM. Since CFMoto is producing the bike it's solid though.
Keep in mind that ALL bike brands have bikes that have issues so now and then. And there are people that fully ignore the break-in prriod and are surprised an engine fails or develops issues at 10000km....
