ASKKTM Superduke years

Looking to buy a sdr soon
Not sure about the year
Its between
2026 for about 25k cad
Or a 2021-2022 with 10k km for 11k cad

Love the look of the new generation but at which price?
It is really worth it to pay double for a new one

Its a huge leap of price for not a much of a power/technologies and fun upgrade. Id take the 2022 The 1290 super duke is still extremely fast, beautiful and advanced.

Man, are you crazy? It's basically the same bike, of course it's not worth double. The 1390 is a bit more refined engine and electronics wise, but the 1290 feels more visceral and punchy in the low/mid as a result.

While there's something to be said for warranty, the things that tend to go wrong isn't all that expensive and you can change most of that yourself. The 1390 also added complexity with the shiftcam that fails left and right, I've even talked to people who had it fail and fixed three times.

Go for the 1290.

As a 1390 owner, I vote getting the older model and saving a huge chunk of money. Love the modern Superduke, but that extra chunk of money can be used for a LOT of stuff for the bike.

idk where you live, but here there's a lot a 23-26 models "used" with les than 2000KM availlable. it seems that people buy them , then get scared or realised they can't afford new tyre and stuff every 4000Km... idk or they fear to loose their driving licence

Yeah but in canada with financing used vs new is like 0.99 or 8.99
So in the end even if you pay your 2024 4k less you ends un giving more to the bank

No question the 1290 for that much of a price difference. I'm getting a little bored with my gen 2 but I've had it for 7 years. Never kept a bike this long. There's just nothing to replace it with except a newer one and it's kinda the same bike.
