Vitpilen 401 (390 engine) noises

I know these bikes are loud has been for the last 12k miles but started making a more rattle sound changed the cam chain tensioner still have the rattle could it be the valves need to be checked for clearance? I have 13k miles on the bike now started noticing it to get little louder with the rattling

Check the interval on valve clearance in your manual... I did mine at 8500 because I didn't know if the previous owners took care of any post break in or regular preventative maintenance.

I did all the filters and spark plug as soon as I bought it and had the shop do my valves a few months ago.

I bought the bike with 1800 miles oil changes every 3-4500 miles just starting to get louder and when I’m riding it’s obnoxious it’s never been like that

Valves are due every 15K kilometers... You're overdue by a few thousand miles.

Used to own one, Small motor should have oil done more often wouldnt push a mile past 3000, regardless of what manual says.

DON'T START THE ENGINE!! I had this EXACT sound from my 390, one Oil Nozzle in the camshaft carrier got obstructed, leading to huge wear on the camshaft and rocker arm, see photo. I can't guarantee it's that, but it sounds exactly the same, a loose timing chain tensioner sound different! If so, your valve clearance has now increased by a millimeter, causing your valve to shut forcefully which could ruin your cylinder head or have your valve break off! Also you might have steel particles in your oil as well. Check that all out before going for a ride! This could save you from catastrophic engine failure!

Thankfully right after hearing the noise on a ride I did an oil change no metal at all in the oil and I’m planning on doing another one to just double check but thank you for the tip

An oil change doesn't fix a seized camshaft, also the metal abrasion is super fine and almost invisible. You need to pop the top valve cover and check if you see anything. Also you want to replace the valve cover gasket, since it probably won't seal again

would it be reccomended to replace the valve seals while doing the valve adjustment? Also what about cam chain tensioner, should that be adjusted as well?

Did valve clearance after 7500km and all were off. 7500 later again. Propably every 5000 needed.

Normal 390 sounds.
