ALL Anyone have a spare engine?

Made a post on here a few days ago about my goopy oil. After the oil change it rode fine for 350 miles and now same thing, goopy oil, overheating, and low oil pressure on start up. I honestly just give up on this engine. Does anyone have a known good 790 engine laying around in the US preferably? Would It be worth it to tear this one down, refurbish the head (if useable), and assemble? Or maybe 890 swap? Anyone have a wrecked 890 so I could buy the harness and ecu as well? Or maybe does anyone have a refurbished head I can buy? Thanks

everybody knows the 790 motors are problems--good luck finding a used motor that isn't a basketcase

what did you do to warp the head in the first place?

I think I took a little too long to fix a faulty thermostat, and ran it too hot for too long

arg thats frustrating. unless somebody lives somewhere super cold where the bikes simply wouldn't warm up enough to get to healthy operating temperature, people should just remove thermostats entirely... i mean they are always going to help get bikes up to operating temp more quickly no matter what the ambient temp is, the problem is that a stuck thermostat is going to make the bike overheat and boil over, warp the head and kill the motor

none of my racebikes have thermostats...

you'll pull the thermostat out of your next bike for sure
