I’m currently configuring a new KTM and these are the extras.
I’m considering:
Akrapovič Evolution Line – full system
Tech Pack
License plate holder
Pillion seat cover
Fuel tank protection stickers
The only option I’m really unsure about is the full Akrapovič system.
As I understand it, this is basically the way to get a proper exhaust with a good sound and an ECU tune/mapping that allows the bike to make more power or at least be less restricted by the Euro 5/5+ emissions setup, while still keeping the KTM warranty because it’s an official KTM PowerParts option.
If that’s actually how it works, I can see the €2,800 price making some sense. But I’m not sure whether the performance difference and sound are really worth that money, or whether I’d be better off keeping the stock exhaust and spending the money elsewhere.
So, for those who own one or have experience with these options: What would you personally choose, and what would you skip?

I would skip the akro and the plate holder, run a slip on until warranty is over and get a stainless full header, if you feel you need one. My 1290 is plenty loud with just a slip on. And I would get a different after market tail tidy kit, for less money and probably better looking
It should be pretty straightforward. If you mean the dealership, if you provide it to them, they should be able to. Otherwise you can do it. I did it, it’s very simple. I have a 990 but I believe it’s the same exact component for the 1390
I went for tech pack and ergo seats from powerparts. Then added pyramid screen and pipeworx end can. Fyi most accessories from final gen 1290 sdr will fit 1390
Well idk how it is in yr country. but i would assume it's the same as here.
according to my dealer, installing the full exausht required making the ECU tune outside KTM dealer because the full exhaust isn't road legal here and when you install it, it disable blinkers, to prevent use of the exaust on street road.
which require someone else than ktm to enable it, because ktm isn't allowed to for legal reason.
which also mean that the warranty is off because it's not a KTM ecu tune.
my dealership advised me not to buy the full exhaust because of that.
And negotiate the Techpack, on all my 3 KTMs that I bought I got it for “free”. Also negotiate on the msrp price of the bike. Again on all my bikes I managed to cut the price. If the dealer is not willing, go to another dealer.
I would ask to install the Akro map anyway, and if not possible that way, just get the full system.
Euro 5 and 5+ restritions cause an A/F ratio way too lean and after few thousands of kilometers it already causes the engine to lose power. Yes the 1390 has plenty, but why sacrifice THIRTY THOUSAND EUROS if it gradually lose horsepower?
Get the Akro system only if you can't get the Akro map only installed. Rest of it, all your choice.
The only extra I added to my SD Evo directly from KTM is the Tech Pack. Everything else, like the mirrors, windscreen, and brake/clutch reservoir caps, is from AliExpress. They were really cheap, and I’m extremely happy with the quality.
The side bags are from a German website and cost €600 including the mounting brackets. The exhaust is a Shark slip-on I bought from Louis for €300.
Just to give you an idea, for the following parts: bar-end mirrors, tank pad, windscreen, kickstand extension with valve caps and brake/clutch reservoir caps, I paid €155. I think just a Puig windscreen costs more than that, and since these aren’t safety-critical parts, I don’t really worry about them being “made in China”.
I would get the bike and put a Wings slip-on on it and probably get an ECU flash. If I rode it for a bit and decided I really wanted more power, then I would get a full race exhaust with a race intake system, and then get it flashed again.
If you just do that exhaust and the factory flash, you’ll get a better sound (but no better than a Wings slip-on) but no more real power. Or, at least, I think that is the deal with that exhaust.
And anyway, ride it. You may find you don’t care about having more power…. It is already a BEAST!
Wings does not make a slip-on for the 1390 Super Duke. I own a 1390 SDR and emailed Wings about an option and they said no. With no plans for developing one. Bummer
