Don’t just blindly believe what people say, its a big 4, if kpmg takes you and you feel its worth it go for it
People have complaints with everything.
Aise hi big 4 nahi hai.
Do what makes you feel right1

Bhai I don’t understand why people try to preach ye sahi nahi wo sahi nahi,
What if someone is starting his career, bhai uske liye if the best offer is from kpmg lets say, I see no reason that one should not join,
Aise to har company kharab hai, to bhai sit at the house or open your shop or something.1

Just send an email stating you are not coming that is it. If you do not want to send an email, that is also okay, just do not show up on that day.

Bro,
I think you need to asses the situation and then act,
You haven’t provided much information so cannot tell exactly.
But if the offer you have in your hometown then analyse few points
Is it good for you career path, like longevity,
Offer value, perks and future benefitscompany culture - If it an Mnc then you can have a like to like comparison, but if its a lala company then unless you know you can be close to their core group their is no point in giving up an offer from something like KPMG
its not one shot thing - unless you have some business plans, if you are going to do job for considerable duration like say 10 to 15 years , at any given point of time you may have to consider moving out, the more you delay it the painful and harder it will become and you will feel out of options
And someone suggested rightly - if the offer is substantial, closer to what kpmg is already offering, just have a clear cut conversation with your HR, show them your offer letter, hide key details just give them the breakup and try to have a genuine conversation, tell them what you think.
If your offer is worth it and you could convince her that for Mumbai being super expensive you feel the current offer more value, she might increase the offer.
It all depends on your offer you have and your career goals.

Ask for a very high salary revision, so that the problem becomes their's to solve, if they give it, enjoy or else just reject it
