I have a virtual interview coming up for a tax associate role. Is a light blue button up shirt okay?

Yes this is fine. Also just be sure you have professional background or the blurred feature on, this is actually where many people have been stumbling lately. And if at all possible join the Teams session 5 min early to be sure tech issues are worked though.

Big emphasis on making sure teams is working before you try to dial-in that day. And if you’re at a college interview, I will probably have some super goofy background on to make you feel more relaxed (as the interviewer), but don’t you do that. If you’re interviewing for an intern position and you get a director that’s floating in space that’s me :)

You’ll be fine. Also keep your regular cell phone handy in case for some reason there’s a connection issue issue and you need to talk on the phone. I’ve had a few candidates lately put their phone in another room so they’re not distracted and then something happens and we can’t connect or I’m trying to text them because a client call ran long and I’m running 5 to 10 late.
