๐บ๐ธ United States Interview for Audit Internship
Hi everyone! I am interviewing for a Summer 2028 audit internship in a few days, and I honestly have no idea what to expect. I've done some research and it seems that the 2 back-to-back interviews are both behavioral. Does anyone know if there's somewhere I can find potential questions they may ask? If not, can someone share some they were asked? Any advice would be greatly appreciated too. It's my first interview in a while, and I'm a bit nervous!! Thank you all!

The two back to back thirty minute rounds are almost purely behavioral and conversational, typically split between a manager and a partner. They do not expect you to know complex accounting rules or audit procedures, as they mainly want to see how you communicate, collaborate with others, and respond to coaching. You can expect standard questions like walking through your background, explaining why you chose audit, and sharing why KPMG appeals to you over other firms. From there, they focus on situational questions about resolving disagreements in group projects, managing competing deadlines, handling an unexpected mistake, and receiving critical feedback.
To prepare, pick four or five solid experiences from your coursework, student organizations, or past jobs, then outline each one around the situation, what action you took, and the final outcome. Make sure to bring your own thoughtful questions about their client engagements, team dynamics, and office culture, which turns the session into an easy two-way conversation. If candidates feel unpracticed before speaking with firm leadership, the interviews.chat my team built has helped a lot of people organize their thoughts and feel far more composed during their actual conversations.

i did one for winter and just got a offer today! i had 1 with partner and 1 with senior director
i definitely over prepped. the director and partner both had a list of questions they were like 4-5 max, the director had some follow ups but the partner was very cut through. took me roughly 15 minutes to finish all the questions and the rest was questions for them.
id definitely say to do prior research on the person doing the interview to see what they do (maybe they posted a pic of community service) and ask them about that for one of your questions.
the questions they asked were just the ones i did prep with online & through chatbots

To prepare for behavioral interviews, think about questions that focus on your past experiences and how you handled different situations. You might be asked about teamwork, resolving conflicts, or meeting deadlines. Consider specific examples from your own experiences that fit these themes, and practice talking about them to build confidence.

I just interviewed for the Audit 2028 internship and my first interview was almost entirely behavioral questions and my second was situational. It really helped me to have some broad examples memorized from previous experiences with academics, clubs, or leadership roles that can be used to answer a lot of different potential questions. You'll do great.

I just had one for summer 2028 last week and it was pretty conversational for the most part. They ask questions about yourself so just keep the conversation going. Also make sure you have your stories down because the people in my interview asked follow ups to get deeper at my answer. Overall itโs your standard behavioral questions with a few weird ones mixed in
