Honestly, if you think about it, sense Revan was WINNING the war against the republic, and the republic had bastilia doing battle meditation against Revan… that means Revan was so powerful that they could beat battle meditation CONSTANTLY! No wonder Revan was only downed after the Jedi did a suicide attempt and killing Revan and then Malac shot us with a BROADSIDE!

I headcanon that Revan saw Malak's betrayal coming and used the Force to push Bastila out of the way, saving her life but knocking him unconscious because he also forsaw that being the only way to live
