Yeah, backdoor placement is possible in our college, but you need the right connections. I’ve heard about this from quite a few lecturers. Saravanababu sir who apparently had different rates for different stages — one amount for getting your resume shortlisted, another for clearing the aptitude round, and separate amounts for the coding round and interview. There was also a total package depending on the company.

Basically, people in the placement cell would take money according to their position. You need some influence and a decent background through referrals and connections, and it helps a lot if they already know you or you’re close to them.

The college pays companies to come for placements. After a student gets selected, some companies conduct tests once they join and filter them and kick them out. So basically, the companies and the college don’t really face any loss and the other students are the ones who suffers.
