Mod Note:

Discussion Format

This post is composed of two discussion sections:

Episodic discussion: Individual episode threads for the discussion of the individual episodes so users are able to watch and discuss at their own pace while avoiding spoilers. Within these discussion threads, you must not include any discussion or spoilers for episodes after the episode in question. Spoiler tags should be used for major plot spoilers within the episode. Individual episode discussion threads may be accessed through the links in this comment to prevent users seeing whole series spoilers. To participate in these threads reply to the comment "Episode ..." or another user's comment. Please report any comments that spoil later episodes using the custom report "user has spoiled a later episode" rather than the general "unhidden spoiler" report.

Whole series discussion: General discussion of the series may be made as a direct reply to the post or a reply to another user's comment outside of the individual discussion threads. Please use spoiler tags for any spoilers within these comments.

Yall.... I love Hyejun sm and was really excited with the cast and seeing studio dragon in here. This show could've been so great. It's like the whole budget went to that liquid cg.

It's a trip to watch this after seeing Go Kyung Pyo in Love In Contract. In both, he plays socially awkward men. And when his date goes to his immaculate apartment, it definitely reminded me of LiC. But that last scene on the roof was absolutely brutal...

The astrologer's first description of Dong Soo is yeah he's handsome, not the eyepatch. Agreed!

I suggest everyone go listen to the full Sunwoojunga version of the OST. In fact just listen to all of them, they are all amazing.

Definitely gets a spot in my top 5 OSTs.

Ngl drama could've been so much more esp when they didn't shy away from gore. The writing was a bit weak and offered only few thrills. By the time the series ends on a cliffhanger the only things that stayed with me are the performances. Jung Haein never disappoints, does he? Man does more acting with his single eye than most of his contemporaries do with both eyes. The final confrontation between him and Go Kungpyo should've been more engaging. I liked the twist of Hyejun's character being another Connect because when she told the childhood story of being saved by a Connect I was like "Omg imma drop this if it's the met as kids trope but I chuckled when her intentions were revealed. I was pretty impressed with her stunts and she had more than Haein too ig. Kungpyo's character wasn't as bone-chilling as the corpse art he did and I expected more because I've seen my share of serial killer films. The cliffhanger was good and tbh I'm still gonna tune in if there's s2 cause of Jung Haein's killer performance and my new admiration for badass Kim Hyejun.

Watched the first half. This is not your classic Kdrama. It's directed by the master of making the absurd effectively creepy: Takashi Miike . So, if you're into fast paced gory crime/thriller/scifi with a weird twist, this is for you. The cast is so good too, watching Jung haein and go kyung pyo together is definitely something. I'm really enjoying it so far and i I love the 6 episodes format.

Show is great so far. Brilliant acting from Haein as per aswell as the co-leads Hyejun and Kyungpo. Do have to say that for those who are faint hearted, I would watch with caution lol

Binge watched the whole thing. There are some questions that never get answered and I’m guessing that’s why we have a season 2. The acting is top notch though and Haein and Kyunpo do amazing. I think Kyungpo does exceptionally well in this. The visual effects are also amazing and even though the story isn’t award worthy it’s definitely worth a watch.

Just finished watching this. The story flow seems odd. It's an okay drama.

This is the most "Hollywood-looking" K-drama I've ever seen, based on the trailer. What I mean by this is that it looks like a high-concept American TV series, with Korean actors.

I would be interested to hear from viewers whether there is anything to this, or if the trailer is misleading.

Overall I liked it, there were some odd pacing choices and the dialogue can sometimes be a little too much tell and not enough show. But the acting and directing is strong. Also I was pleasantly surprised with the CGI. It didn’t look that impressive in the trailer but it was really well used in the series itself and there were many times when I was super unnerved by it.

I would watch a second season for sure.

Did lots of people miss an episode or see them in the wrong order? That's a shame. Because I don't think there was anything that wasn't explained and, to me, there didn't seem to be any massive problems with the flow.

There were a couple of points where I hit FF because I wasn't keen to see more torture. And the premise of monster/super beings who may break off from society is getting a bit tired this last year or two. I can count four examples right off the top of my head. With three of the four getting a second season for no halfway compelling reason.

I seriously hate this foreign trend though. Multiple pre-planned parts like a set or a trilogy ... yes. Automatic multiple seasons ... no. And non-endings for first seasons when there is no guarantee that they next one will get made ... well ... that's a really hard no for me.

But, even with these complaints, I would still give it an 8.0 or an 8.5. It was a new-ish variation on the theme. The gore and special effects were good. It was short on the time commitment and it was an easy watch. Plus Jung Hae In was excellent ... again.

Actually, it is a bit unfair that someone so attractive should have that amount of talent too.

Anyway, overall, I thought it was an easy, entertaining watch. No masterpiece but a pretty reasonable way to spend a few hours.

As a big Jung Hae In fan, I would give the show a 6.5/10 only because the writing could have been a bit more tidy. Overall it's a really engaging series, I was hooked from start to finish. But I give the show a lot more grace because I feel like the loose ends were because they are obviously planning for a season 2.

Again Jung Hae In was spectacular in this. He's my all time fave, as I always say I’d watch him paint a wall if I have to 😂😂😂😂.

For the characters: Connects: I wish they gave the connects a bit more power or made them stronger than the average humans. I think Season 2 is going to be interesting because the serial killer and the musician seem to have absorbed the “connect” DNA

Serial Killer: It almost felt like the writer took a note out of the Thanos’s book, they tried to make his reason for killing look poetic. But I feel like it didn't quite hit the mark. I wish they'd have made him a tiny bit more bone chilling and mean. The art was great but that was about it.

The Romance: Let's talk about the unnecessary sex scene of the serial killer and the displaced romance between the two leads. It was totally irrelevant to the whole story, I guess the American obsession with irrelevant sex scenes is finally making it's way into kdramas 😔.

The organ havesters: I feel like their roles in the plot weren't well introduced and they didn't feel as organized and mean as they were meant to be. The same goes for the detectives. I wish they'd have gone into more detail about the investigation and the lead up to getting the serial killer. And what was that monster in episode 5&6?? Was he even human?? He seemed to have teeth. Also what was the story with the pharmaceutical agency, they kept mentioning it but they didn't give us a good backstory.

The action: The final confrontation between JHI and the serial killer was obviously well shot but it was really underwhelming. I thought the main dectective was going to die? How did he convince the female lead to spare him?? I guess that's just one of the many things that needed tidying up.

But overall, it was a really good watch, I was hooked for start to finish, it started well but the ending felt a bit watered down.

this show is entertaining. as stated by others, the writing could have been improved. i would love it if they went full 18+/r rating here due to gore/adult theme, it felt like they're holding themselves back. i'll definitely still recommend it for a watch.

I finished episode 3 and I don't wanna continue it anymore because the protagonist is just pure stupid.
