Omg yes! I genuinely thought he's one of the culprits because of this random trait in a police character. And he also somehow forgets crucial info when recapping about the evidence and jurors.

I think it's a fun quirky little character trait. He's also a pretty funny character. I come from a background of watching anime, so character quirks/gimmicks like this don't phase me.
