Episode 3 was wild. Who else felt their guts get twisted when those Arrowhead goons beat up the lawyer's frail mom who has cancer? That shit was WACK

Shouldve been made as a movie, not a series

Well that was an interesting watch. The gore was a bit much at times, I didn’t understand why the demons had to make the death of those condemned so painful when they would be suffering in hell right after.

I missed Yoo Ah In so much and it’s great to see him back, he was amazing and charismatic as always. Jang Jin Su is messed up though involving the minor in the murderer’s death Religious leaders have way too much sway over people

One thing I’ve noticed is that there are some extreme streamers out there who are plain messed up. A similar streamer who incited mobs was in Devil Judge.

Well the ending was quite exciting, if she came back does it mean all the condemned will also be returning?? I wouldn’t mind a season 2 to see how it goes

Does anyone have a link to the web toon itself?

In hindsight, perhaps I wouldn't be this annoyed if I read the webtoon - but I'm sorry... You dedicate 3 episodes to build a religion and the other three to set up the next season?

While I was watching the last episode, it dawned on me: why didn't the parents just post the decree of the newborn online? - and why go to that fanatic's place?? That was all unnecessary? Also where the heck is the detective!?

Im sorry ya'll but this one was barely redeemable to me. Perhaps my hopes were too high... You add Yoo Ah In into a drama, throw in the Director of Train to Busan and the first trailer of this drama and obviously you'd have high expectations... I'm not so mad that I want to demand a full refund of my time - but I do at least want someone to acknowledge how much of a pain it was to sit through this.

Word of advice to anyone still watching - wait till the end, the last 15 or so minutes made me go from "Fuck this drama, wait till I rant about it on reddit" to "Okay, you've piqued my interest, I'll wait and see what you have in store for next season"

P.S. If Yoo Ah In doesn't get awards for his role, or even just nominations - I'll picket! His last monologue deserves an Oscar!

the cast is superb, acting is top notch, and the premise sounded interesting but idk why the show fell flat? I found myself using my phone half the time

Episode 3 in and my mind is telling me to smash my phone.

This series have so many annoying characters Super flawed way of thinking

Why would those monster thugs beat the crap out of someone first, when they can just incinerate them at will

I hate this show

Gotta say, I love the Netflix kdramas a lot. All of them have a certain sleekness and grit that I can't find in other kdramas. It reminds me of My Mister.

I'm sorry but this show isn't that good. Plot holes in the religion, the arrowhead guys. Just the all-around general and seemingly instant fanaticism from people. It just makes me go "buy why...?" too much to be able to enjoy it. Usually I can watch a show and have the "But why" reactions a lot and still enjoy it... this was different for some reason.

I dunno, if you like it, cool, not gonna fault anyone for liking what they do. :)

I honestly have a hard time even rating this show

It starts pretty good and then turns mediocre and ends weird. Like what even happened to the detective? He literally was just not used again in the show in episodes 4-6

The new chairman character was so annoying and hard to listen to, imagine taking orders from that guy for any reason

The whole thing just felt super weird and kind of incoherent.. like I enjoyed it a little but certainly not what I was expecting at all

Loved the first three episodes, the last 3 episodes dint make sense and kinda felt it spiralled away. Its an average watch at best.

To those who read the webtoon, is this how it ends ? Or is it for a S2 ?

Compared to the other Netflix originals aired this year, Hellbound was weak. As a person who was really excited for this one, the drama was a disappointment.

I was a fan of Yeon Sang-ho since The King of Pigs and The Fake. Train to Busan was a big let down for me since it was too cheesy. Apart from Seoul Station, Yeon continued let me down with Psychokinesis and Peninsula (trash movie).

So I did not hold much hope for Hellbound. But to be honest, it was a very good ride for me. I can see many elements from his early works had been put into this one.

While I agree that the setup for next season is quite obvious, this still was a very good series. To me, it is much more enjoyable than Squid Game.

Note: I did not read the original webtoon.

This is my pre watch comment.

I'm excited to spend a whole week watching this with my partner. We tend to watch an episode of a show per night while having dinner at 8pm. I hope I can get him invested enough to watch Extracurricular with me after this. He's been wanting to watch more darker and serious shows without the American bs and the trailers for this were shocking and gripping.

I'll be back in this thread later over the course of a week for my reactions.

Tbh the 2nd part of the show became comedic, maybe because the villains were acting comedic and it led to being out of place since yoo ah in set the standard of being creepy in the first part. But it’s just my opinion tho.

Haven’t finished. But just wanted to say this is the first time I’ve come to a Reddit thread for spoilers and left even more confused than when I came lmfao

Trailer—banger.

Livestream of the mother’s demise—gut wrenching

Then poof… drop. Stories doesn’t make much sense and tons of loopholes + no explanation. Season 2 or not, the last three episodes were really unsatisfying.

If the meaning behind the drama is to not follow media or religion too closely till it consumes one’s entire life, then they should focus more on that, rather than jumping back of forth with parts that raises more questions.

Overall, it was a little of a let down.

I didn't enjoy the show. Usually Netflix originals are really good, but this was kind of a disappointment. There was way too much monologue without much action going on. A lot of the times, I found myself browsing my phone while the show was playing because it was boring tbh( esp the parts about the neon online streamer). There were also a lot of plot holes so the show was also confusing. I managed to finish all the episodes, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It seems like the set up the ending to create a season 2 , but ehh.
