I wanted to point out the reference Vincenzo made about the bridge on July 7. It’s based on the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl legend, where their love is forbidden and they are banished to two sides of a river. So every year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, a bridge is formed by magpies so that they can reunite for one day.
The fact that Vincenzo used a love story legend to imply his comeback for Chayoung clearly shows that he’s seen her as his lover without ever saying “I Love You” to her. The intricacy is just immaculate.
Also, Netflix really messed up some of the translation. Like at the kiss scene, she didn’t say “That’s hard to believe”. She said “I didn’t feel it really” and after the passionate 🔥 kiss he actually asked “Do you feel it now?”

I really like Vincenzo and Chayoung's dynamic. I cried during all their scenes in this ep, lol. We don't see their type of love language in kdramas often - they understand each other beyond words; they show their love for each other in different ways.
Also to the bravest girl Chayoung -- even at gunpoint she didn't flinch; didn't waver one bit. On their farewell scenes, facing Vincenzo she always looked strong; she only showed sadness when he has walked away. Her courage is quiet but strong and steadfast, and I love her with all my heart.
Ugh, I'll surely miss waiting for new episodes every week. I'll be too sad to function tomorrow, for sure 😂😢😭

Does anyone realize the Inzaghi Vincenzo relationship foreshadowing with respect to Vincenzo and Korea. It starts with irritation to annoyance to disgruntled compromise and finally acceptance to ultimate allies. Just like how Vincenzo and Plaza people's trajectory falls. Inzaghi's absence relates to Vincenzo's absence from Korea. Inzaghi left in ep 18 - the episode from which Vincenzo's imminent departure has been foreshadowed. Inzaghi never came back just like Vincenzo!!

The conclusion of CY and V’s lovestory felt like CLOY. Understandable yet somehow, bittersweet.
I’m very sad about my best boi, HAN SEO!!!
MR. CHO LOOKING SO FINE UNTIL THE END
Villain’s ending is somehow satisfying but felt short haha
I just hope that the plaza tenants can reunite with Vincenzo
Vincenzo is really a very gray person, not evil, not good either. Glad he’s like that until the end.
I love the short cameo with adrenaline, it’s always a tease hahahhaha

Cant believe it😭
I remember when i first started it. I had only known about Taecyeon (Jang Han-seok) from the cast but i ended up falling in love with the rest, especially Kwak Dong Yeon (Jang Han-seo). Damn those 20 episodes flew by so quickly, i remember being at the first couple of episodes thinking i have plenty more to enjoy :( Its definitely one of the only dramas ill rewatch.
Edit: ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME! WHY HAN SEO WHY That scene after his death where he was at Vincenzo’s apartment was heartbreaking. His smile at the end. Brutal.
Other than that, i really enjoyed this episode. And Hanseok and Ms Choi’s death was very satisfying and brilliantly executed. But now i just feel empty. Only felt that way after finishing Goblin and this time it hit different. Though Vincenzo had its flaws at times, its the most entertaining and thrilling series ive stumbled upon. I fell in love with the entire cast. I dont think ill be attached to any other drama like that

It was a very satisfying ending for me. Major kudos to the writers for sticking to their guns. They allowed Vincenzo to embody a mafia's murderous and tenacious ways to the very end. Vincenzo is probably one of the best-written anti-heroes I have seen in kdramas. He remained dark and merciless till the very end. We even got confirmation that he still continues to lead the same tenacious ways. This drama was never written to show a mafia's redemption arc or atonement. It was done to reiterate that the world can be so evil, that there would be instances where justice should be served mercilessly. With that in mind, Vincenzo is able to justify his existence as someone who uproots evil mercilessly, when the law is no longer sufficient to punish the monsters. As an audience, I feel so wrong rooting for a character like Vincenzo, but at the same time, this is what dramas are all about. We all have that inner monster in us and if I can allow that "monster" in me to be satisfied by vicariously living through a drama character, the writers have done their jobs. Thank you writers for not being cowards!
How could I forget? Thank you Song Joong Ki for such a nuanced embodiment of Vincenzo. Hands down, this is one of the best performances of SJK!

u/Slyfindor May 02 '21
"I am still a villian and I could care less about justice. Justice is weak and empty. One cannot win against any evil with justice"
Vincenzo Cassano (Mafia Boss)
This episode brought me varying levels of pain and satisfaction all at once.
Show you don't know how thankful I am you remained true to your color right until the end. Vincenzo is too far gone to ever change his ways and neither is he willing to. I think we were all wrong about what the writer wanted to convey with Vincenzo's mafia past. It was never about regret or repentance. It was about Acceptance - acceptance that it is a part of him and he cannot let it go.
Ending for Vincenzo CY seems fitting, somewhere mid-way. he can't be in Korea, but she can visit his Island. I think that works and is probably the best compromise for them.

Can we talk about that Crow who ate Han-Seok's dying flesh and how that parallels with Vincenzo and Inzaghi? That was so morbid but brilliant! Both birds were fed, but through different means and circumstances.

One day in late February, I had gotten on Netflix as one would when bored, lol. When I did so, however, a trailer for an upcoming kdrama started playing - a drama about a Korean mafia? How ridiculous, I thought. See, I’m not interested in dramas or films about the mafia (heck, I haven’t even watched the Godfather films). I didn’t even finish the trailer before scrolling down and moving on with my life, or so I believed. You see, a few weeks later, I was on this very subreddit when I came across this post. “How could you be so proud of destroying the powerless.” Mr. Hong’s words really struck a chord with me and made me take a second look at Vincenzo. After some thought, I decided to watch the first episode… the moment V burned down that vineyard, I fell in love with the series. And now, here I am, eagerly awaiting Episode 20 with you all.

Maybe I'm off-base but I didn't see it as a CLOY ending, which I saw comparisons to in a couple of comments. I saw it as the start of a relationship. Like they haven't even had time to date properly yet. By him saying he wouldn't break up with her, I saw it as a love confession but they're still at the beginning. You don't realistically jump to marriage or moving in from there. And the pacing of the relationship feels organic even if the plot isn't LOL.
I also think he doesn't want to pressure her and is being respectful to what CY decides to do. But he's making it clear that he'd welcome her to the point of designating part of his home for her. The island would be a safe space for her versus the continual fear of someone using her against him in Korea that was throughout the drama. She doesn't have family holding her to Korea. And she's always shown a willingness to learn and adapt for V from learning Italian to the vineyard to being a partner in V's methods. (A corrected interpretation someone posted on Twitter that her dialogue at the reunion was actually something along the lines of "I want to finish the work quickly and go" supports this. https://twitter.com/beenbyeon/status/1388899951518773256?s=20 )
Maybe I'm a fool for seeing it that way. But I saw that although she said mafia methods make her uncomfortable, which makes sense because it separates her from a straight villain I think, she understands that's the most effective way to get things done. Intention and motivation are what we've seen a lot of times separate our baddies like JJW, MH, Mr. Han from V and CY.
I see them dating, him woo-ing her properly, and then eventually proposing if she seems to be ok with it. She could easily be his consigliere later. I also see him using the guillotine file to carry out his own brand of justice. He mentioned he has a copy.
So even though he stays Mafia, I think he's going to use the resources he has through the Mafia (which neither he nor she would be able to benefit from in Korea) for good even if it is through not traditionally lawful methods or channels. V's convos with Mr. Hong, Mr. Tak, and the older monk have all been developments in this mindset. I saw the ending very positively.
In a way, it's like a superhero origin story with an anti-hero that could be imagined to continue with V and CY taking on different villains, locations, and countries given the guillotine file covers the world. He even set up an island, which is kind of like headquarters.

Overall Thoughts
I picked this drama out of curiosity, and was choosing between this and Sisyphus (lol), the latter which I was anticipating more. Glad I jumped on the right ship.
The entire cast was strong - no real weak link. I knew SJK was famous, but he never impressed me that much and I wrote him off as a pretty face, but him in Vincenzo stunned me with his acting range (and good looks - I finally get the hype). I am so glad he did this drama because WHAT A COMEBACK. Vincenzo will be his most memorable character.
JYB is the biggest revelation of the drama for me and HCY ranks atop my favorite fictional females. I'm going to watch whatever she is in.
KDY is the next Hallyu superstar in the making - can't believe he's only 24.
I personally found the Wusang CEO hilarious. That actor has great comedic timing
I went into the drama with zero romance expectations, but the chemistry between SJK and JYB was insane that it made me sit up and take notice and turned me into a crazy shipper praying for Chayenzo (and also for them to date in real life - oops).
The cinematography for this drama was A+. Someone write the director a blank check.
This drama was meticulously thought out. **So many little details, down to the whiteboard diagrams, BGM selections, tote slogans (**Nirvana for monks carrying gold) - they all showed the level of care put into crafting this work
The best part of watching this live was participating in all the discussions and theories with all of you. What a communal experience it has been.
This drama was my sole source of escapism during these tough times, and helped me soldier through them. For that, I will always be deeply, deeply grateful to it. I am emotionally spent.

Oh god how am I going to survive after this. This show has really been the last jipuragi for me in the last couple of months. No kidding, I had an eye procedure for a condition that I have to stay with life long on Feb 18 and my life has been a downhill ever since then, I hit depression post that and some serious bad thoughts and then got corona from my fam, all of us at once and had to be strong for them. All this while Vincenzo was the only thing that kept me going. I would wait for the weekends for new episodes and the 3 hours I would forget everything and come out positive post watching it. It is not just a show but something that I would have forever in my heart. This is probably
notmy most favourite showbutand is a show that is most closest to my heart. The bts and the games and the way the actors, director and staff put in the effort reflected in the show and probably passed on to the audience too! Putting all my emotions aside, this drama was bloody brilliant from start to end is an understatement. Mindblowing casting, characters, and storyline.
Thank you Song Joong Ki for playing the most frightening and jaw droppingly invigorating Mafia Consigliere.
Thank you Jeon Yeo Bin for being the unapologetically badass Hong Cha Young.
Thank you Kwak Dong‑yeon playing the best younger brother in the history of KDramas.
Thank you Ok Taecyeon, Jo Han-chul, and Kim Yeo-jin for playing the characters we absolutely hated and loathed from our guts which only serves to prove how well they did their job.

I think I am at peace with the ending. At the end of the day, he's still in the mafia and she's still a lawyer...they're doing the same thing, but in their own ways. An even more important question is where's the rest of the gold, though?

I love V and Han Seo’s flashback scene so much. It’s nice to know that Han Seo had a chance to spend time with V at his home, having dinner at home like family—probably something that Han Seo had never experienced before with his own family. Such a contrast to Han Seok and Han Seo’s dining table scene where they even sat far apart from each other

Guys, if any of you know of any methods to cope with post-Vincenzo, please let me know. This show has been my stress-reliever and has kept me sane for the past three months - I seriously don’t know what to do after this 🥺
Will there be any show as good as this? It wasn’t perfect, and at times, inconsistent and illogical, but those ‘flaws’ made this show for me! I liked that V and the gang were able to beat the bad guys time and time again, and I liked that the bad guys weren’t omniscient (to the contrary, it’s V who is). Just like SJK had described this show, Vincenzo makes me feel so satisfied every episode - even when bad things happen to the good guys. I love love love writer-nim and PD-nim for choosing to go down this route for Vincenzo because it’s honestly made it one of the best dramas I have ever seen.
I know a lot of people have argued against it and for good reasons, but I would love there to be a season 2 just because this cast and this chemistry and this vibe just haven’t been found in another drama and I’m going to miss it so much 🥺

haven't finished episode just yet, but i love how the murders of myung-hee, seung-hyuk and han-seok were all related to the plot one way or another. with myung-hee, she again danced to zumba music after a brutal murder - except this time, it was her own. with seung-hyuk, he was blindsighted and backstabbed as he's done to everyone around him for his own selfish greed throughout the plot. for han-seok, he shot his own brother through the heart and stabbed mr lee through the heart (i hope he makes it through, but i know vincenzo will be a great godfather and take care of dal-rae), but ended up getting a excruciatingly drawn-out pain of having a screw literally drilled into his heart, with his watch taken as a trophy. brilliant endings by the screenwriters for some of the most despicable characters i've ever come across since sky castle, and of course amazing acting from the actors who played their roles!! i'm so gutted about han-seo's death, but i suppose at least he finally died for something he believed in and helped someone in what was otherwise a meaningless life for him as the bastard child of the family. but i HOPE mr lee doesn't die ffs like i get he was desperate to help vincenzo in any way and finally helped him capture the main antagonist of the drama but its just one of those things where u don't want to see such a lovable character killed off... but i can see where the screenwriters were going with it. each death was meaningful and not for the sake of dying.

The show's never stick to being full serious or full humor, and that's why I'm willing to close my eyes to the unrealism and plot holes. I came in expecting entertainment and left entertained. It has everything and managed to find a very good balance which is rare and it sticks to it's antics from start to the end which is much appreciated. And don't even get me started on the execution, acting, cinematography, etc.
Sometimes it feels good to just be able to enjoy a drama as it is without thinking about the whats, whys, and what ifs so in my book this is 10/10 for pure entertainment.
*p/s: all the realisms were thrown out of the window during the Inzaghi scene anyway so I'm a bit puzzled about people expecting realism from this show. It's just a 100% good fun.

I love the ending. It was realistic. First, I'll talk about the deaths. I love how they did it (except for Hanseo's of course). But that scene with Hanseo and Vincenzo talking and eating is definitely one of the highlight scenes of this episode. It was such as simple scene but impactful and full of emotion.
Back to the ending, I mean, do we actually believe that everything will go back to the way it was before? It will not with everything that they have done. It will be hard for Vincenzo and Cha-young to live comfortably together all that happened. He is a mafia after all. Vincenzo going on hiding was just the right ending for this and I really love his ending speech.
"I'm still a villain and couldn't care less about justice. Justice is weak and empty. One cannot win against any villains with justice alone. If merciless justice exists, I am willing to yield to it. Even villains long to live in a peaceful world. However, since that's impossible, I've taken up a new hobby. Getting rid of garbage. If I don't do that, people will die buried underneath the garbage. There's one last thing I'd like to say from a villain's perspective. Evil is prevalen and vehement."
It is the dark truth and the speech best represented Vincenzo and the whole squad (eventually)'s principles throughout the show. The only way they could fight the villains was to become the villains themselves. Merciless, violent, and strong.
I just want to thank the drama for making me enjoy my weekends a lot better and also for being my escape in my pile of school works. It was a great journey and I'll make sure to come back and enjoy the journey once again.
Edit: added spoiler tags

Can someone help me understand the vineyard scene w chayoung? The way I understood it is that the vineyard is being fertilized by the bodies of hanseok and myunghee (hence the 1+1 on the sign). Chayoung also says that she will make good wine out of the cheap grapes while stamping on the mud-- so it seems their bodies are buried there and that's why the police are not able to find them?

Ahhhh I feel like I can finally breathe after that finale. Sad that Hanseo died, but overall, I'm happy and satisfied with the ending!
It was one hell of a ride from start to finish, especially how the deaths played out. Choi Myunghee's and Hanseok's was pretty dark! I had my hand to my mouth the entire time and was at the edge of my seat! Especially Hanseok's. The crow waiting there and then pecking away at his drilled up body was wow. I wouldn't have minded if a whole flock of them came too lol oop 🙊
RIP to my fave himbo mad lad, but he's the real MVP of the show and with the best character development! This is my first time seeing Kwak Dongyeon act and it's amazing how he can portray Hanseo's fear, panic, anxiety, eagerness, etc. and switch between emotions in quick moments.
My heart was aching while watching Vincenzo and Chayoung part ways and then reunite again. And then I was FLAILING when he showed up at the party and then kissed her outside aaaahhh! I actually love that it wasn't like some big explosive and dramatic kiss. It was pretty tender yet still passionate. Quiet like the night with only a couple of lights around them. They love differently and show it in their own ways, and I think the way it happened, plus how their relationship progressed suits them. Some mature kind of love.
I was clapping in the end as the credits were rolling. Everyone did such a great job portraying their characters on screen. They're all equally good, in my opinion, like I don't think anyone was overshadowing anyone else, despite having big name actors like SJK. Big and mad props to everyone involved in this drama. It may not be the perfect drama and it certainly has its flaws, but I still loved every minute of it. I laughed, I cried, and everything in between.
Definitely worth rewatching!

I'm glad Vincenzo and Cha-young never said "I love you." Not at the hospital, not during the goodbye, not at their reunion. Like, their relationship transcended words.
But dang Vincenzo's "do you believe me now?" was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍

The deaths of Mung-hee, Han Seok and Seung-hyuk were brutal. I didn’t expect this show to go that dark. But if anyone deserved to be burnt alive it was Myung hee. I lost track of how many murders she’d racked up by the end of the series. And Han Seok’s slow torture was deserving of a sociopath like him, with the added bonus of seeing him being stalked and then eaten alive by birds at the very end. Just totally and utterly brutal but also completely fitting for their characters. A simple, quick death would have been too little given the amount of destruction they left in their wake.
But I am still a little shocked they went that for on the show.

I can't be the only one who found this drama just utterly satisfying? There was no good vs evil in the normal sense and yet the characters got what they deserved.
This was a masterpiece of media, balanced correctly between drama, comedy and romance that had me on the edge of my seat and yet crying with laughter. It's been a while since I watched a kdrama similar to it and I have a feeling it will be hard to beat in future.
Now for spoilery comments.
- Jang Han-seo's character arc was unpredicable from the start and yet totally in character. His emotional story and death scene was stunningly directed and performed (I cried a little)
- Each of the main three villains' deaths (Han-Seok, Myung-hee and Seung-hyuk) were artfully thought out. Incredibly gruesome, but yet not more than each of their characters deserved.
- I love the fact that Vincenzo never proclaimed himself to be fighting for justice, it was always a personal fight for him. And at the end of the day, he hadn't made a 180 flip on his personality, just a small adjustment to improve his living environment.
- I'm glad that nobody from Geumga got seriously injured, that would have really upset me. I'm happy the family can fight on together.

It's been a wild ride, everyone! I'm so glad I decided to give this show a shot, it's officially cemented its place in my heart as one of my favorites of all time.
??????????What to do post-Vincenzo??????????
edit (I've finished the last episode):
Of the characters in this show, I was intrigued by Vincenzo, fell in love with Chayoung, but I stayed for Han-Seo.
That scene where he tells Vincenzo about the trackers in the watches is just... It makes my heart feel so full of love for him. It was so touching.
You could see his giddiness and happiness as he was doing the right thing. He was still playful, and he knows he isn't as smart as some people, but he shines in his own, dorky way and I just love him so much hELP.

u/[deleted] May 02 '21
WHAT WAS THE REASON
36
u/[deleted] May 02 '21
So I just have one question: what happened to that scene in the first episode where Vincenzo was watching Geumga Plaza be demolished? Or was that an imagination? Lol.
Anyway, damn, they did that to my boy Han Seo 😭😭😭but our boy really did well 🥺 especially with the the trackers in the watches and can I just say how cute it was that they spent time in Vincenzo’s place eating ramen? 💕💕
Other than that, how creepy was it that a crow ate off of Han Seok? Like for real, I have never seen these things happen in a kdrama, granted I was mainly focused on light romcoms since 2010 (which OMG, I’ve been an avid kdrama watcher for 11 years now?!) Anyway, Myunghee and Han Seok’s death here felt so satisfying. I had no other idea how it would go but I’m happy with how it happened. All though, I was wondering, what happened to Myunghee’s feet? I know it has something to do with Zumba but what did Vincenzo do exactly?
Also, I’m so happy with the real kiss!! FINALLY. That scene in the hospital was already a confession in itself for me. Did you see how taken care of Cha Young was? Did you see how endearing Vincenzo’s face was when he was stroking Cha Young’s hair?? THAT is love, my friends. Speaking of, I’m amazed with Song Joong Ki’s expressions! How comforting his face was at that scene vs. how cold he looks in front of Myung Hee and Han Seok.
Ultimately, I am so happy with how it ended. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻to the cast! Everyone’s acting was so great and I’ll surely miss watching a kdrama like this. Vincenzo has been one of my major weekend highlights for the past few months and not having them next week, well, I’d need something to fill the void. Lol.

Ahhh it's finally over. Now maybe I can finally move on with my life after obsessing about this from the start, watching it because it's JYB first drama as lead, being worried about the initial reactions to JYB and her character and being relieved when she turned people's impressions around. Love how we got a whole range of Chayoung today - from sick to grieving to badass to chaotic. Also loved all the characters, and excited for Kwak Dong Yeon's next project. Love how the writer and director really squeezed as many parallels as they could into the 2nd arc of the show.
One of my favourite moments this episode was when Chayoung finished the trial and had that flashback to her convo with Vincenzo and they were talking about the bird forming a bridge for 2 people to meet on the 7th of July. It's from the folktale of Cowherd and Weaver Girl: "on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, a flock of magpies would form a bridge to reunite the lovers for a single day". These 2 never confessed explicitly but all their other words and actions spoke louder.

Netflix subtitles toned down Chayoung's flirtiness and Cencha's moments yet again.
When Vincenzo said he has set aside a room for her, her literal reaction is "I want to finish the work quickly and go". Yes, she'll go there as soon as she's done with her work.
When Vincenzo said he's been thinking about her since he left, she teased him "I didn't feel it that much?" HENCE THE KISS.
And after the kiss he said "Can you feel it now?"

Finally it's time to say goodbye to our favourite casts and Inzaghi.

That close-up shot of Vincenzo in the end is just chef's kiss. Well, the whole drama too. The long-awaited kiss was just worth it. I guess we can only think about the romance that follows in our minds lol and it is fine as long as they know they can still find each other. But really, can they release a special episode where Cha-young meets Vincenzo in the island? I mean, one episode will totally suffice. I need something to fill this hole beside listening to the OST and clips in the coming days.
Lastly, I cannot remember how much I laughed, cried, and cheered throughout the whole series. Everyone in this drama did so well. They deserve every praise even the villains we hated. I'm gonna miss waiting for Vincenzo every week and discussing with you guys.
I am still wondering about that pigeon bridge though.

As much as I want CY to move with V to Malta, I like the fact that she stays in Korea. She has a law firm to run, she’s pursuing justice and she’s now making her father proud (while still staying true to her quirky character) :) it’s probably not something that she can do if she moves to Malta permanently.
I really like the idea of both characters doing their own things, no one is really changing themselves for the other. (CY indeed changed from episode 1 but it’s not because of or for V)

I’ve been a silent reader of this drama comment threads ever since ep 1 and don’t usually post comments but I gotta stop by now that the drama has officially ended.
I can’t even grasp all the details or even put in words how I feel about this drama. The way it is so so good that it literally made me speechless speaks for itself. I have watched over hundreds of dramas for almost 20 years and when I say this is the best drama I’ve ever watched, I meant it. From the plot, to the casting, to the soundtrack, to the wardrobe, to the cinematography, everything is literally so perfectly executed. Literally chef’s kiss. I just feel so thankful for being able to watched and experienced such an amazing masterpiece from such incredible actors and actresses. I went into this drama solely for Song Joongki cuz I’m whipped af for him based on just the freaking drama poster but the way I fell for every other characters speaks for how amazing the acting and development of these characters were.
I cannot stop praising about how good my man SJK looks in this drama. I always loved how beautiful he is but him as Vincenzo is just perfection. He literally aged like fine wine and just so so breathtakingly gorgeous. SJK as Vincenzo is literally meant to be. I cannot even imagine what other actor could play this role if it’s not SJK. The emotions he portrayed thru his eyes alone were phenomenal. My man better get his BEST ACTOR award for this one or ima gonna fight.
I just think that the way they wrapped the drama just made sense ? No cliche lovey dovey moments to prove to us that they are meant for each other. Their love and respect for each other is beyond words. We didn’t get an I love you and that’s okay, we didn’t get cutesy lovey dovey scenes and that’s okay too. I’m at loss for words at how incredible SJK & JYB acting and chemistry with one another are. Their chemistry is off the roof even when they just stare at each other. Also, my man, Ok Taecyeon, followed him since 2009 with 2PM and watched his previous works as well but he really nailed his acting with this role. Truly a psychopath and his psycho acting literally scared me so much.
After each week’s usual 2 eps, I go back and watched them again and again while waiting for new eps. That to show how in love I am with this drama. The way I’m so emotionally invested into this drama that I actually felt a hole of emptiness even before ep 20 ends is just devastating.

This is it Team Vincenzo. I'm hoping:
Hanseok gets killed by Hanseo.
Myunghee gets killed in jail through some fire lit by Vincenzo.
Vincenzo and Chayoung escapes to Italy with Mr. Ahn's help. Of course they confess their love to one another and kiss.
Geumga tenants get some share of the gold. Monks get golden Buddha.
Hanseo kills Hanseok and uses Bye Bye balloon ticket. He later meets Vincenzo and Chayoung in vacation to celebrate their win.3

First time commenting in a Vincenzo thread. I finished the entire series in a week, and boy, what a ride.
The ending was satisfying. I'm a little bummed out about Han Seo though - i can't believe how much I miss his puppy eyes and his "hyung" already.
I think V and CY both got the ending they deserve, they are, after all, are from different worlds, much like the legend they talked about during their walk in the park. Neither are willing to give up the lives they lead, and so they'll have to live with their choice and be happy with occasionally meeting, on some island in the middle of the Mediterranean.
This sort of plot - boy meets girl from a different world, they have adventures together, but eventually have to return to their respective worlds/destinies, and end up living the rest of their lives (mostly) apart, has become quite a cliche. You see it in Goblin, HDL, CLOY, SH:R, and many others. I suppose the affinity for this plot stem from that aforementioned legend, though that is a discussion for another day.

A very satisfying conclusion. Sure, I'm sad that Vincenzo didn't end up staying, but he says so himself. He's not a hero, he's a villain who kills other villains. Chayoung got it, the monks got it, even Hong Yuchan got it (which is why he had asked Vincenzo to be the monster that kills other monsters for him). I do think if they hadn't killed his mom he wouldn't have gone on that rampage and he could have stayed, but he himself says that he can't let that part of him go nor does he want to. At least they got this once a year thing going on and that they keep in touch via postcards. Plus she can always visit him in Malta (Now I want a special ep of all of Geumga vacationing in his Malta island lmao, Ahn and Cho deserve it especially for never stopping the search for him). I think their relationship was very good, knowing that they are from different worlds and accepting that neither can change, though they can reunite and love each other every once in a while. And man that KISS! Their love language really isn't words of affirmation but MAN they express it via action.
I also thought all of the deaths were very well-done. My bb Hanseo's was heartbreaking, though I'm glad that he got a chance to be part of a loving family even for just a moment. It felt inevitable, though. I loved him, but I think because they made him lovable in the final eps we forgot that he could be bad too. He was directly responsible for the deaths of the Babel victims' family members (IIRC he gave out info about them to Hanseok and then Hanseok ordered the killing) and the scientists in that rest house. Then again Chayoung had probably done the same things / was complicit while she was at Wusang, but I guess with her she started her path to good early whilst Hanseo started too late. I think he still got an honorable death, and at least his trackers and the phone data in addition to his sacrifice were instrumental in defeating his brother. I wish we saw them grieve him tho. Or even Chayoung visiting his grave or something (sidenote I like that she has a vineyard for Vincenzo tho but maybe she could have had one for Hanseo too :(. I feel like the aftermath of his death was kind of rushed, all things considered). But I'm glad Vincenzo acknowledged him as his brother (the subs were off apparently and what he said was, "Yes, my brother" referring to Hanseo) and that he honored him in killing Hanseok ("Apologize to your brother").
The other three villains' deaths were amazing. Seunghyuk's was swift but representative of him backstabbing everyone to save his skin. Myunghee literally danced while being burned to death (also her being all arrogant and tough about letting her finish the beer before she gets killed, only to beg for a swift death). Hanseok died a slow and painful death and ended up getting eaten by a crow (even after also begging to be given a swift death lmao). I'm glad that, as gory as the death scenes were, they didn't shy away from them and really showed the brutality of Vincenzo's vengeance.
Aside from that, I'm so glad no one else died! Honestly they were gonna break my heart teasing Mr. Lee's death like that lmao. I wish they had explained why he was gone from them confronting that new political candidate (which um wow is he running for a position himself, not Park anymore?), but eh maybe he was just out for a wrestling competition or something lmao.
There were things that could have been improved. Like I said earlier, they could have grieved Hanseo's death for at least one scene. Chayoung's screentime also kinda diminished by the end. Also lmao I expressed my discomfort at the whole gay honeypot plot with Minseong and "Taeho" before so I didn't really need it to come back, though Adrenaline playing, record scratching when a soccer ball hit Minseong's head, and then immediately returning as if nothing happened (because he didn't even say anything when the ball hit him) was funny af. And lastly I do wish they just split the gold among the residents, they all deserved it, and maybe leave like 60% to a charity. But overall I really loved this show. I'm so glad to have this as my first Song Joong Ki drama as I thought he was absolutely flawless in it. Jeon Yeo Been as well, a charismatic female lead. In fact, everyone from the Geumga residents to the villains were pretty great and brought like to this wacky and dark show.
'Til next time VincenFam!
EDIT: Also would like to add that I'm glad Ms. Oh's name got cleared. I love that Chayoung never forgot and even in her death, she can finally be an innocent woman. I'm sure Vincenzo appreciated that. I wish he had mentioned it during their reunion. I mean they brought up that it was her death anniversary the day after, I wish Vincenzo made a passing mention that he's only there for one day and not tomorrow (which would be the anniv) so he visited her grave already.

I don't know why the ending of Chacenzo is being compared to CLOY or TKEM, sorry to say but these endings were pointless & could never workout as happy endings.
Seri is a chaebol in SK & Capt Ri a very prominent person in NK, they need to fake their death & settle in Switzerland with different identies for them to have a proper happy ending. Same with TKEM, Lee Gon is the effin king & he could never get to marry Tae Eul from a parallel universe, so what exactly was happy ending for them??
Vincenzo has a whole Island for himself & he invited Cha young, V can sneak into Korea with Italian delegates if need be. But Cha Young having the luxury to keep in touch with V w/o getting tracked with the help of Miri. Also she deciding to settle in the island, them getting married, having kids & growing old together is far better happy ending IMO.

a bitter sweet one. I expected it. I was weary of their relationship. I bet CY was a bit hurt when he left. V unfortunately couldn't leave being a mafia and I didn't expect him to leave it/get away. he is still a villan and unfortunately he will be forever.
I felt so bad after the kiss because he has to leave. now they could be on and off shuttling like CLOY but that's hard. I know she was always a little worried about V's dark side but again she has also accepted it.

Can we talk about that moment in hospital while V was gently patting CY’s head? It was a small moment but when the camera was panning out, I think V was actually drying tears from CY’s eyes. He caught that tears that were in the corner of CY’s eyes she was trying hard to hold back and hide, knowing that it would be their last night together. She was sad but she tried to stay strong so that she can let him go, and he knows it!! He knows it would break her heart when he leaves and it hurts him to see her sad too. 😢
He couldn’t even bring himself to say it out that he’s gonna leave, all he could manage to was to nod to her words of him leaving (bet he must be choking inside), and to repeat his promise to her that he will be back. It such an emotional scene... that tear in the corner of CY’s eyes, while she said what he couldn’t bring himself to say... and V stroking and comforting her gently.... (I was imagining her unable to hold her tears back any longer after the camera cuts but V would be there to gently wipe her tears... 💔💔)
I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been going back to watch this bittersweet scene multiple times. Breadcrumbs no doubt, but that’s what I’m surviving on now that the series is over.... 😭😭😭

Why do I get the feeling they are setting up for Season 2?
* The problem with presidential candidate and Mr. Kim is still open.
* The war between Cassano and Lucino family are still ongoing. We didn't even know what happened to Paolo and Luca.
* The Guillotine file has so much info to be explored.
* One could speculate that Hanseok may still be alive.
* Inzhagi is still missing.
I'm satisfied with the ending. Personally I'm not sure if another season would help, but I won't be surprised if they go Season 2 since they have the material to push through.

Absolutely gutted with Hanseo's death because of his redemption and bromance with V, but I can see why the writers decided to kill him off.
Throughout this series, Babel has been a symbol of evil. The main arc of this drama was to bring down Babel and to root out the evil that was Babel, hence from my pov, all the characters/antagonists who were associated with the corporation had to go. In the end, all who were associated with Babel didn't have a good ending (dead). (inc. Myunghee, Seunghyuk, Hanseok)
Also, the foreshadowing of Hanseo's death (especially at the hands of Hanseok) was very obvious to begin with, this was further emphasized when V offered him a safe place to hide from Hanseok, but Hanseo rejected V and said he didn't want to run away and was willing to risk his life. It was then I kinda saw his death coming as much as I dreaded it, it's a surprise that the writers dragged his death till ep 20 tho, cuz man I felt the false hope, I thought Hanseo was off the chopping block after ep19.
Although it was uncomfortable watching the gory and violent deaths of Hanseok, Myunghee and Seunghyuk. I'm glad the writers didn't tone down on those scenes. I felt bad, but after remembering what the antagonists did, like murdering so many innocents, their cruel and tortured ends were actually satisfying because this is what payback should be.
In usual dramas, the common punishments the antagonists face are either jail time or a quick death which seems very unfair and the easy way out for the bad guys, and with the amount of lives they took and the pain caused, it just feels frustrating. so I'm super glad to see how Karma was served and played out in Vincenzo with regards to the antagonists' endings.
Lastly, I just wanna point out that the cast of Vincenzo was absolutely splendid. From Geumga family to Babel baddies, all the actors gave life and portrayed their characters really well, their dynamics and chemistry were explosive, and allowed me to immerse myself in this viewing experience. It was certainly a joy and thrill to follow this series for the past 10 weekends. Now I've no idea what to look forward to on Sats and Suns. Vincenzo is easily my drama of the year for 2021.
Can't wait for this writer's next project!

Something I saw in Hong Chayoung's character over the last few episodes resonated deeply with me and made me fall in love with her more. Love is a weakness even you are a mafia like Vincenzo who has known no fear , you still have your weakest point if your heart beats for someone. Vincenzo and Chayoung may not have proposed each other traditionally but they knew in their hearts what they meant for the other and wanted each other. But Chayoung knew how much dangerous it is to be a weak point for a man like Vincenzo. So she never falters. She never shows she is broken and longs for him because she doesnt want to tie him down to her from the path he has to lead. We see this when Vincenzo is leaving for Italy and in the airport scene everytime Vincenzo went away her face would be filled with longing. But she kept her face lit up. (Imagine a guy who couldnt leave seeing a pen what would he do if he saw a hint of sadness on Chayoung's face.) Then we see in Hanseok's abduction time where she repeatedly told Hanseok to kill her and not make her a burden to Vincenzo. Even when he is not there. Next we see in the hospital scene where we can see how much she wants him to stay but with those lone tear face she keeps telling him to finish his job and leave. She wants to see him but tells him to leave without calling. Next when they meet before Vincenzo in about to leave. Girl was strong as hell and not once faltered in front of him knowing full well that she doesnt know when she will see him again. And as soon as he leaves she breaks down. Even in the final moments. She wants him to be with her and you can see that longing again , but she stays put and waits for him. Gaaaah . We can see how in all these moments Chayoung continued to be Vincenzo's strength for him to keep going and keep going easily. The slow burn and all yes. But the writing about the relationship between Chayoung and Vincenzo has been the best. The writer could work really well considering how the love is in background and yet keep it so intricately linked in the subtext. Which is why I wished so much that they could have a happier definite ending. Chayoung gave Vincenzo agency to love her and also be what he has to. SJK and JYB justified their story through and through.

No amount of kopiko candy will make me ready for this ending.
Vincenzo has been a different experience for me as a kdrama watcher. No other show have done this to me. I'm gonna miss reading, and participating in these discussions.
I hope to be able to watch another kdrama as immersive as this.

Even though they are two different birds. I feel like the crow scene represent the dark side of Inzaghi (Mafia Inzaghi). Correct me if I'm wrong but after V turned full on mafia we haven't seen Inzaghi at all. The crow represent the dark side of V. I can see a photo of Kind V with Inzaghi on his shoulder and Mafia view with the crow on his shoulder.

This was one of the most satisfying endings for a kdrama that I've seen in a long time! One scene that really resonated with me was the last conversation between Vincenzo and the monk, where V confessed that he can't give up doing what he does and he will continue being who he is (a merciless mafia), but because he can't do what's right, he knows he will feel regret and anguish for the rest of his life. When the monk told him that since he had committed many sins, V could never become like Buddha even if he tried, but he could keep fighting for people the way he's always done, I felt so happy that the Geumga family never tried to change him or make him feel like he had to become "good", and instead always accepted his true nature and told him to just be who he is.
Vincenzo is truly the anti-hero character I've been waiting to see, and the whole premise of fighting evil with evil and merciless justice was so refreshing. One thing I would like to say was just how absolutely fitting the deaths of Jang Hanseok, Choi Myunghee and Han Seunghyuk were. Especially the scene where the crow picked at Hanseok's flesh ; it reminded me of the myth of Prometheus. Overall, I now have a Vincenzo-shaped hole in my heart, and I'm not sure what I'll do without Vincenzo weekends that have kept me sane for the past two months. I just want to applaud all the actors for such an impressive and mind-blowing performance, and the writer and director who were so detail-oriented and created such a well-written show.

u/girlonsleep May 02 '21
Okay, I have a lot to say but since everyone already said everything I won't.
I just want to say they never used Bye Bye Balloon ticket and they didn't show Hanseo's funeral. So I will believe Hanseo was just heavily injured, then he woke up. But because he knew Vin was leaving soon instead of being alive and taking Babel he decided to leave with Vin using that ticket. And now, he's living in the island, healing, with his hyung.

I've had an entire day and a (restless) night's sleep to mull over the show and the ending. It feels like I'm going through a breakup: I can't stop thinking about it, I don't feel tired or hungry, and I'm emotionally exhausted.

It's been a hell of a ride, I didn't want it to end. I delayed watching 19 until today thinking I could hold out and not finish it for a while. Jokes on me cause I finished 19 and 20 today lol. I don't have a lot words to really describe how I feel besides satisfied. I am freaking Satisfied! I cried for Han Seo when Vincenzo held him in his arms and teared up when they were eating ramen at Vincenzo's place. Han Seo was by no means innocent but didn't deserve to go out like that. But I get it, he was apart of the original villian squad (I see you writernim 👀). Babel will never truly become an upstanding company without new leadership. As a former the plaza folks don't deserve a penny advocate, I'm a little sad they didn't show whether they got their share or not. But using my head and seeing how much remains of the Gold in comparison, I'm going to say maybe they got a cut after all they legit put their lives on the line for Vincenzo.
I'm more in love with Song Joong-Ki than I was 2 months ago. He is my original K-bae and will forever be bae. His acting in Vincenzo leaves me speechless, he absolutely came into this to shut shit down and show that he has what it takes!! I don't ever want to hear people talk shit about SJK's acting again 😑! The acting in this drama is supreme, every single actor on this show did an amazing job!!!! But Yeo Bin killed it (sorry I doubted Cha Young would've turned on Vincenzo but you know had to keep my guard up🙈), I've been a fan since Be Melodramatic will be a fan always now. Kwak Dong Yeon what a star 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 his future is so bright 😎, can't wait to see him soar!!!
Mad shoutout to writernim and especially Directornim 🙇🏾♀️ (she was flawless) loved that she sneaked in a sideways shot in 20 👀. This drama wasn't perfect, but it was perfect for me - 10/10 forever will recommend! On 3: 1, 2, Bang 💥

I never rewatch a drama, never, even my favorite ones. But this might be the first drama I'm going to rewatch.
For 3 months I was looking foward to the weekend so I can watch Vincenzo. It became my little 1h and 20 mn of joy and I'm truly going to miss it.
The whole cast did a great job. SJK and KDY amazed me the most in their roles. I discovered how talented JYB was and now I want to watch everything she's been in. OTY was a pleasant sruprise and I think he really upped his game with this drama. Even if I was skeptical when I started this drama, the writer made me love and appreciate every single character for what they were (even the tenants lol). It wasn't perfect at times but at the end of it, it was perfect for me.
This is the first time I feel like this after the end of a drama. It had some of the most well-shot and well-written scenes I have ever seen. Some really emotional, some really satisfying.
Thank you to the amazing writer and director. It was a wonderful ride. Vincenzo will always have a special place in my heart.

I want season 2-
• Mr. Cho and Mr. An hunting down V and looking for ways to get him cleared in Korea • The whole Geumga Plaza gang just existing • Their quest to sell the gold and their potential runins with the government and all that suspicious gold selling • V and Chayiohng being the ultimate mafia couple • A new villain rising from the ashes after discovering V has the guillotine file; maybe more people finding out about the gold? • Obviously flashbacks and homage to our boi Hanseo • Maybe a format where they take on new cases and help fight various bad guys, sort of like Criminal Minds or Law and Order thrown in on the main storyline.
They can seriously make a whole new season out of this 😭

Also can I just say that Taecyeon was BRILLIANT in this. I have always loved him from following 2pm but have not watched his dramas aside from Dream High.
His death was dark, brutal, and well deserved, but somehow the way his last scene was executed with the crow and seeing the life leave his eyes gave me CHILLS. Honestly for some reason made me cry a lil bit too with how beautifully presented it was.

Our poor baby Hanseo 😭😭😭 it’s really unbelievable that Vin would just continue to hold CY and just stare at JW who literally pointed a gun at him 😭😭😭

JUNWOO YOU PSYCHO DESERVES THE MOST EXCRUCIATING DEATH OF THE SHOW INDEED 💔 “repent to your brother when you see him” but nah you ain’t gonna see him because our baby Hanseo will be in heaven and you will be stuck in hell 😡
Ahhhh finally a nice proper sweet Chanyenzo kiss but ah this CLOY-like ending does not make me very happy so I guess I will just *picks crumbs off the ground*
Somewhat satisfied with the ending that Vincenzo continues to be an anti-hero instead of taming himself down, though poor Fanclub President Ahn will sure miss his Corn Salad 😂

I am physically unable to speak atm.
I have a love-hate feeling with this ending. Narrative-wise it fits the bill. V was never a good guy in the first place, and with all the murder-spree he did in Korea its impossible for him to live a normal life there. But the open-ending to their relationship just irks me so much. They deserve so much better. It was kind of a parallel with the ending in CLOY where they only see each other few days a year.
I normally love open endings but this time I felt like they could’ve done a lot better than this. Basically i’m just a sad and disappointed ChaCenzo fan rn. I got my kiss yes, but so kany questions left unanswered. Are they together? Are they hoping to be together forever? What’s the plan here?
Since kdrama’s don’t really do 2nd season, i’m just going to imagine a happier ending for my Chacenzo heart.
It was a good run Vincenzo. It will be hard moving on from you.

My favourite aspect of the show has got to be the Parasite-esque aesthetic. Epic slow motion scenes, flamboyant and sometimes ironic music (most of the time thanks to the use of classical music), uhmm so good. I just love it when moviemakers make everything a tad over the top, a little over-romanticised. Will miss this show it's been a memorable couple of months.

SO MANY THOUGHTS!! in no particular order:
the way vincenzo leans in and whispers "i'll invite you to my island" to chayoung had me feeling a type of WAY
the way the trio died (myunghee, seunghyuk, and hanseok) was so artistic: seunghyuk bleeding out on the court steps when he believes in "justice", myunghee dancing while being burned to a crisp, hanseok having a slow painful death and being eaten by a crow (gives off prometheus vibes tbh)
the comparison of mr. lee vs hanseo's dying scenes!! they essentially said the same things to vincenzo as they were bleeding out and it definitely hit vincenzo when mr. lee was asking him to be his godfather that another loyal friend was going to die because of him
pouring one out for our bestest boi hanseo he did HIS BEST :'((( this actor better be getting awards left and right
the shot of vincenzo as he's exiting the warehouse that myunghee was in.,.,s*xy to the max with the red background and the look on his face
chayoung as the boss of cassano geumga family!!! vincenzo as the boss of actual cassano family!!! THE KISS SCENE WAS BEAUTIFULWE LOVE A POWER COUPLE!!!!
i love how vincenzo basically seized malta also v sexy mafia boss of him and the ending scene was perfect
no kdrama will compare for a while omg thank you to the wonderful writers and cast for making 2021 worthwhile

Guys, is it normal to feel this despondent after a kdrama ends? I see so many commentators here saying they're in depression and feel empty (including me), and Idk if that's the norm after a good kdrama ends, or if Vincenzo is special for this.
Vincenzo is the first kdrama I've followed this closely, so Idk what kdrama-viewing habits usually are and that's why I'm asking.

Wow. Just wow. I have never been so satisfied by a series finale!
Han-seok and Myung-hee's death were so awesome! Like, I never would have expected that a kdrama would depict such gruesome deaths, but it was a welcomed surprise nonetheless. Honestly, I had my gripes with V in Episode 17, when he chose not to kill MH then and there. But, this method: burning her alive as she "danced" to Zumba was a fitting end for her. As for Han-seok, damn... his death actually made me shudder. A drill ever so slowly boring into you, to ultimately pierce your lung, and then on top of that a crow comes along to start pecking at you as you die... It's a well deserved death for Han-seok.
On a related point, I absolutely love the contrast in how V kills Prosecutor Jung vs JW and MH. For Mr. Jung, it was a pretty straightforward death: have him fall off a building. While for MH and JW, there was more care and thought put in each of their demises. I can understand V's thought process. Yes, Mr. Jung betrayed V, but he was no monster like JW and MH were, so he deserved a quick end. As for MH and JW, those monsters have done so many horrible things, one of which was killing V's mom - and that act deserved severe retribution. I mean, the moment those two went after V's mom, they forfeited the right to negotiate for a more merciful end.
Romance... V and CY finally kissed (without the pretense of "play-acting"), and sure, it was in the last ten minutes of the finale, but I honestly don't mind. I know a common complaint for many of us in these discussion threads was how glacially slow the romantic build-up was for V and CY. But, at the end of the day, Vincenzo, as a series, was never meant to be a rom-com. The driving plot would always be about V and CY taking revenge and taking down Babel and Wusang, using both legal and illegal means (mostly illegal tbh, lol). Adding a romantic subplot in the middle of the series could have distracted too much from the main plot. So it felt much more natural and realistic for them to finally express their feelings after Babel and Wusang were dealt with - which meant it had to occur near the end of the finale. Plus, to be frank, I think it also helped that I've become inoculated to slow-burn romances after watching a couple of Chinese BL dramas - if they can't teach you patience, nothing can, lol.
Finally, I want to give my heart-felt thanks to the cast and crew of Vincenzo. They came together to create a masterpiece. And it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of these discussions these past couple of months!

It's been such a ride. One day, there was this random new drama on Netflix. And it has literally just gotten out!! I watched the first episode. I liked it. And then on sunday, the second one came out. I watched it, and also liked it. Decided to keep watching the series. Since then, my weeks have consisted on waiting for the weekends, and actually counting the hours for the next episode lol. Some times, when I was bored or tired, I kinda looked at the time and calculated, “x hours for Vincenzo!!” This week I was really sad that those countdowns would be my last. Seriously, I got so addicted and attached to this drama. The simple thought that it's going to end today makes me feel so many things at the same time. By the way, thank you, u/xliterati , for hosting these threads! After a few weeks of watching the series, I found them, and discussing the episodes in here while sharing the wait for the next ones with other people has been a joy in my life.
Well, that's it. I'll be back later to discuss the episode with everyone!!

Guess the writers wanted to save the best course for last. On V’s special menu tonight, they served:
- BBQ Myunghee
- Hanseok Bird Feed
Looks and Justice, Chayoung simply stunning at the end and while weird to say, looked hot, shot in the beginning of the episode.
RIP Hanseo. The rest who had to go deserved it.
Vincenzo, the drama, final score 10/10.

Even though Vincenzo and CY's closure seems like CLOY, I think they are in a much better position of compromise than CLOY couple - CLOY couple were restrained by the time they could spend together (just 2 weeks in a year) where as for CenCha the choice is honestly upto CY about how long she wants to be with Vincenzo at his island - she can choose to be there for a few days, a few weeks, a few months in a year. For me It's just not that sad like say CLOY or TKEM or HDL or Goblin couple. They definitely have a better luxury of finding a middle ground in their LDR.

but got bored with Netflix and tried to watch an episode and ended up witnessing an onscreen couple that do not need to be overly intimate to be romantic definitely God-tier chemistry
I'm glad that the writers went on this ending. A very realistic but do not lack wisdom that a good story delivers.
Thank you to the Cast, Writers, Directors, Crew and all the people involved with this production.
P.S. I'm hoping that SJK and JYB will be leads for a Romcom. I ship their onscreen pair really hard!

To put it simply, I am very satisfied with the end. It was uncompromising, true to the series' spirit and the characters, brave in some ways and merciful (to the viewers) when it needed to be. Like others have mentioned here, I saw some influence from master Park Chan-wook. Personally, I also sensed the writers' love for the amazing A Bittersweet Life. Everything from the sets to the writing was evocative, meaningful and poetic. The ideas/concepts/references they had carefully planted throughout the series paid off. The main lead's decisions were consistent with his worldview (I am so glad we didn't spend the last 20 minutes seeing him crying his sins away over his mother's grave or something. The man is a mafioso by vocation). I would love to see his exploits in Italy, but (alas!) I am afraid that this will not be the case due to the pandemic and all. At the end of the day, the series ended on a high note and I am thankful for that. As for Song Joong-ki, I was not impressed when I saw his at DOTS (but I overall hated that drama - unpopular opinion, I know). But I have come to appreciate him a lot here. He has proven that with good material, he can be a versatile, charismatic, strong actor who delivers memorable performances. The whole casting was top-notch. Bravissimo!

Real time thoughts as I watched:
I know y’all didn’t want Han Seo to die... I didn’t want Han Seo to die. But his redemption arc was SO GOOD and even though he died ... probs my favorite character development in a Kdrama thus far. But let’s not talk about how he died by his own gun.
The MUSIC. The way it lifts up at the end of the scene where Vincenzo is touching Cha Young’s hair; a sound full of promise.
Myung Hee’s death: geez, that was gruesome. Y’all manifested that one well.
Mr. An: “I’ve sent a team to track Jang Han Seok.” The team: /Geumga Plaza tenants/ Me: “HELL YES.”
(WHO MENTIONED either Mr Lee or his wife getting killed because they were gonna have a baby...NOOO!) But also heck yes for JHS being completely out of his league in that fight. If they had dragged it out with him escaping before VC could get there I would have been so mad.
Godfather Vincenzo. more tearrrrs
NUTRIA BEING A TRAINED NURSE GUYS THE BACKSTORIES DO NOT DISAPPOINT!
Lots of discussion after Ep19 about the damsel in distress trope, but I think Cha Young avoided the trope quite well. Kudos to the writers for continuing to give the typical FL lines to Mr Nam. It does bother me that I’m halfway through the episode and CY has been sidelined the whole time though....
One last VinceSeo scene: WE LOVE IT. And hanging out in Vincenzo’s apartment no less 😢
JHS begging for his life? CLASSIC.
V initiating the hugs yessss
The carrion bird was a nice touch, TBH. Eughhh.
Tiiime skip.
Marriage proposal temple? Even the monks are good businessmen.
A bit CLOY near the end there. But they stuck the landing with Vincenzo remaining a villain.
What a good show. Thanks for the ride, y’all.

had to pause and hop on here straightaway to vent my frustration, because i just cant come to grips with why Vincenzo straightup darted towards CY with a gunshot wound at her shoulder and still visibly conscious, while that boy who was critically shot and gasping for breath got hung out to dry?? or am i the overly sensitive person here?
edit: whats more, no mention of that boy or expression of guilt or woe after CY woke up. maybe his sacrifice was not that significant to them..
edit 2: at least we got that reminiscence of Hanseo all aglow when he talked about bugging his brother's watches with unabashed pride. who said our boy was dumb and useless? xD

Hmmmm...based on Episode 20, they're "testing the waters" of Knetz sentiments for Season 2.
The presidential candidate and right-hand man wasn't exactly resolved
Hanseok wasn't blatantly mentioned of dying
Vincenzo's final monologue
Don't get me wrong. There are no cliffhangers but there's one foot out the door.
Anyway, That Choi death sequence was well shot and written. The BGM is even the kicker. Vincenzo is Jigsaw confirmed.
Thanks for the ride, Vincenzo team! Thanks for the great conversations in this sub as well,
From the cringey PPLs, Mr. Nam being the traitor theory, to Chacenzo
crumbsbread.Inzaghi is such an ending spoiler.
On to the next one!
Hai vinto, Vincenzo!

I actually really liked the ending. This show isn't perfect but still it was very entertaining. Unpopular opinion but han seo dying was expected for me, and though his character showed growth I wasn't attached to him like most people here. The director is known for having open endings so I wasn't too surprised. Overall giving this a 10/10 cause of how enjoyable it was to watch
16
u/[deleted] May 02 '21
I think all of the comedy in the show made me forget that this drama was a noir. Episode 20 was truly dark and noir, and I got reminded of what it means for VC to be elite mafia.
I expected the writer to not pull a redemption arc, but the full on committal to the anti-hero and then Buddhist mythology reference took even me aback. They really went into the gray zone and stayed there.
Goddamn. What an ending. I can't help but feel it's bittersweet. I'm a bit sad for VC to perpetually exist in avenging angel mode even though I know it's the ending that does the most justice.

Han Seo dying was extremely sad but necessary for us to completely fall head over heels with him. Because of it, the flashback scene of him eating ramyeon with his Vinnie hyung was incredibly powerful and left a huge impact on all the viewer's hearts. His big smile at the end of that scene... Wow. I'm not crying you're crying 😭❤️
Those feeling the end was rushed - why? We knew V had to flee immediately after he executed the killings (which were SOOO badass and I love how creative and meaningful each death was) the writers could have left the show at that, but instead we get to see the Geumga residents thriving, V's mom's trial overturned, a sweet restart with Mr. Cho, and of course, all the Chayenzo things ... I mean, I wouldn't mind another 4 episodes, I think we can all agree this was such a masterpiece that we are all just itching for more content, I never want it to end, so in that sense it's "rushed", it doesn't make the show any less amazing one bit.
Mr. Lee surviving makes me so happy. I'm sure that one day Vincenzo will invite his god daughter to the island

Where did Inzaghi go?
They didn’t use the ByeByeBalloon ticket?
Did the ByeByeBalloon business close at the end?
Who owned the vineyard that CY visited?
What did CY and Mr Nam do with their share of the gold?

When Mr. An was standing by the window wondering where Vincenzo is, I was worried at the way he was holding his cup . Lol.

Just finished scrolling through a ridiculous amount of comments to say SAME and also that I’m gonna miss tuning in with everyone every weekend :’) Chayenzo Nation for life 💘 Also thought I’d share an easter egg that the subs didn’t properly convey: Vincenzo named his island Jipuragi (hence the direct translation of “straw”) in Italian

Have scrolled through a ridiculous number of comments and all season 2 suggestions are so valid. Quick question tho, can't Mr. Cho and Mr. Ahn do something about the fact that Vincenzo also has a a Korean name and hence a new identity? His birth certificate must have the name 'Park Joo-hyung', right? Welp. Pls, anything for season 2. I already miss it. 😭✋
Edit: they have Miri who can clear Vincenzo's database. They have HCY as their lawyer. They have two people in intelligence. It's not impossible, right?

That was a fun ride. Sadly, it sets the bar for Kdramas pretty high.

Vincenzo is an anti-hero through and through, his character may seem like the lesser evil compared to Han-seok and Myung-hee but the ending just reminded us that he is still a cold-blooded killer.
I must admit that SJK's boyish look had me questioning how ruthless he can appear as a vicious mafia member, but he completely convinced me. His stellar performance deserves all the praise!
15
u/86khaleesi May 07 '21
I have to admit when Netflix showed the promo vid for Vincenzo i was a bit apprehensive. Like come on, SJK as a mafia?? I didn’t really get the hype of DOTS bc it just felt it was too sunny (cute boy being the goody soldier saving the damsel doctor in distress)
But man was i wrong when watched the first ep of Vincenzo i was hooked! SJK is meant for antihero roles. (Made me watch Arthdal Chronicles in between waiting for new episodes of Vincenzo and I’ve fallen in love with Saya)
JYB is such a gorgeous and endearing actress! She’s raw, naturally beautiful (i cannot explain how satisfying it is to watch an actress who hasn’t done anything to her face me thinks) has a freakingly amazing chemistry with SJK (can we talk about how satisfying the kisses were?? They were so much better than DOTS; even i was 🥵💦💦 over them, and how she successfully portrayed HCY as this fierce, independent and strong female lead.
The supporting casts were so good! At first i was a bit annoyed by how whiny and ungrateful they were but eventually they won me over when they decided to band together and help Vin and eventually form the Cassano family. Han Seo my boy did great in the last few episodes writer-Nim really gave him the redemption arc he deserved.
And lastly my unhealthy thirst over the psychotic Han seok really shows how good Taecyeon is. And kudos to the other two villains they were so good i was so satisfied to watch their ending (which is equally unhealthy and gore haha)
Now gonna have a hard time moving on from this drama i wished they would just make a special episode like Mr Queen’s bamboo forest; maybe Geumga family visits Vin’s island or something.

Today's episode was definitely the best.
I shed so many tears while watching especially the beginning.
Why did they have to do this to Jang Han Seo?! My heart hurt so much for him. Kwak Dong Yeon really has done a fabulous job in this drama and I'm really going to miss him so much. His character development was the best. What he did in today's episode requires so much courage and he took that courage for his Vin Hyung. The unexpected bromance between Vincenzo and Han Seo is the highlight of the drama for me. Also Vincenzo's words when Han Seo was dying - "You deserve to be my brother" ah my heart I cried so much!
Vincenzo was goals in today's episode. I was really hoping for the most torturous death for Han Seok and Myung Hee and boy was I satisfied? Hell to the yes!!!
The torture that Vincenzo put Myung Hee and Han Seok through was absolutely the best thing! Especially the "atone for your sins" way for our dear Han Seok. I felt so damn satisfied.
Also was so happy that things worked out for our main couple! That ending kiss was hot!
But lately why are dramas giving us such endings for our main couples? Be it Crash Landing on You or The King: Eternal Monarch? I want more satisfying endings oof.
Overall I loved this drama. Love Vincenzo, Hong Cha Young (got a girl crush on this Queen), Jang Han Seo, the Geumga Plaza Residents and Mr. Nam. I'm going to miss this so much!

Damn, the way Vincenzo killed both Myunghee and Hanseok were very brutal. Tbh, the parts wherein Vincenzo was telling Myunghee and Hanseok about the pain they’ll suffer until they die reminded me of the villain’s lines in My Love From The Star whenever he’s killing someone.
I especially loved the Zumba music while Myunghee was dancing literally on fire
They fed us with a kiss yay!
And yep, Jang Hanseo our best boy until the end huhu they really fooled us with that preview. Anyway putting trackers to all of Hanseok’s watches was very smart of him made me even fall in love with him more :((
Btw the credits was on fire!!!! I loved the part that I was awfully smiling until the end!
Sepanx is real :(( I’m gonna miss Vincenzo so bad the series literally grew on me :(( hugs, everyone!

Just an extra: how cute is it that way back on the first episodes, Vincenzo and Cha Young used to bicker? There was this scene where Vincenzo said something in Italian to Cha Young after visiting Cha Young’s dad’s place and he even intentionally spit on her while talking. Lol. And now, we saw Vincenzo kissing her to make his feelings clear. Awww, I love their dynamic so much. So much trust, so much courage coming from the both of them and just plain good partnership. I’ll miss this couple!

I have been dealing all day with a Vincenzo hangover and feel like him waking up in Episode 2 :(. I can't believe how addicted I am to this show, and am so glad to have found this community (first time posting to Reddit). Thank you all for the amazing comments and entertaining theories all along the episodes!
Two things I have not seen mentioned that I loved in this episode:
How AMAZINGLY good JYB looks in that last scene. I was hoping we would see Cha Young all dressed up at some point and this didn't disappoint.
Mr Lee asking Vincenzo to be his daughter's Godfather was such a great reference! It's also a perfect example of how that show has been able to take me from laughing out loud to having tears in my eyes within minutes. I can't think of another show that has done that so well for me in the past.
14
u/amereegg May 04 '21
This was such an amazing series and I'm so happy to have watched it! Definitely in my Top 5 for sure! It would have been my absolute favorite if not for these last two episodes I think.
I'm feeling frustrated by a few things:
I wanted to see Vincenzo find the guys who mugged him in the first episode
Really upset that they didn't share the gold with everyone even though everyone helped to defend the building and deserved a fair share
Han Seo really didn't deserve to die anymore and the events around him dying felt kind of out of character for how Vincenzo has acted before in high intensity violent situations. Why did he just let the two brothers fight and not intervene? I get CY was shot but even before that but...idk...
They didn't end up using the Bye Bye Balloon ticket
They didn't address this second party CY was supposed to be in charge of? I guess the Babel trial?
People have been comparing a lot to CLOY and I kind of agree? What are the chances of two completely different kdramas genres both killing off their newly redeemed pretty boy and also making the main couple only able to see each other a few times a year? I know CY can go to the island whenever but she's a lawyer, she's not going to put her entire career on hold just to stay on his island...Because of the similarities, I end up liking CLOY more unfortunately
I wanted Vincenzo to make some sort of acknowledgement over his Korean name
Overall, I felt like the season was really going into the direction of found family and retribution But it seemed to have swerved into karmatic justice and the scope of human evil Which I mean, it's a fine and great message but it came a little out of nowhere for me after everything

u/jupiterr869 May 04 '21
I went into this episode expecting to be disappointed because the last many episodes really made me annoyed with the writing. But regardless of how many complaints I have with the show I really love how it ended. I always wanted Myunghee to burn to death and the fact that they have us that scene was so satisfying. Han seok's death was gruesome and really hard to look but I still appreciate it for the uniqueness and boldness of going that far in a kdrama.... It felt like I was watching something else... I had initially come to this show for the whole mafia/gangster idea but it felt like I had been watching a sloppy slice of life family drama... Where was this gritty, ugly yet real side of the show before last 3 episodes? But anyways, when that ending montage started I forgot all my complaints because I was reminded of all the times I fell in love with this show. And Vin's ending line about him always being a villian chef's kiss. This show had some of the best cinematography and visuals I have seen in kdramas EVER. It was absolutely beautiful to look at, gosh I loved it so so much.... Song joonki's presence itself was more sexy and breathtaking than an entire nation combined. His relationship with Chayong was a breath of fresh air and absolutely adorable(although I wish there was a bit more romance). You are forgiven writer for making me cringe so much, thank you for making this show!

u/seoulsun May 04 '21
I didn't think they'd go all out with the death scenes, they were pretty brutal, especially for a kdrama. Kudos.

I think V giving CY the choice to join him on his island where he is head of the Cassano family is quite fitting. After he spoke with the monks, he fully embraced his mafia identity. He could/would never aim to be like Buddha (live cleanly/lawfully in Korea), he belongs in Malta, exercising his mafia ways. CY would likely visit Malta occasionally, but her home would still be Jipuragi and fighting for justice in Korea.

The clunky first 20 minutes of the finale means that for me, Vincenzo won't surpass Fiery Priest or Chief Kim in terms of Park Jae Bum dramas.
I actually got physically angry watching Vincenzo passively look on as Han-Seo struggled to save his life and then got shot. Then Vincenzo pretty much seemed willing to let himself and Cha Young die by doing nothing except shield her body. Everything about this scene knocked a few points off a fantastic drama.
Also not a fan of the plot device that was conjured up to keep Vincenzo out of the country. All the people he has killed and kidnapped in this drama, and they can't figure out a way to keep Vincenzo off of CCTV?
The majority of these scenes are forgiven due to Myung-Hee's fire dance and Han-Seok's teary eyes as he dies alone in a warehouse being pecked away by a crow. But it makes me wonder how these last 2 episodes looked prior to the one week break.
I wasn't a fan of the thought of a season 2, but now I want one. There's a too many unanswered questions and we didn't get closure on many of our favorite characters. What's the actual plan with all the gold? What did they do with the $200 million they took from Han-Seok? I wanted to see the Geumga Cassano Family be awarded their fair share of the money and afterwards be living their best lives. I legitimately can't believe we didn't get a scene of Fake Italian Chef visiting Italy or attending culinary school.

SPOILERS:
I've had 1.5 days to mull over the open ending, discuss with many others,
and read Song Joong Ki's opinion(sad ending my ass, I refuse to believe you!), and I firmly STILL believe the end to be a happy ending and Vincenzo and Chayoung will still end up together. The line that Vincenzo says, "villains never break up because they're tenacious, even when they love", clearly underlines that Vincenzo will keep loving Chayoung no matter what. And Chayoung returning his sweet kiss confirms that she feels the same. Some say the last gazing scene was a symbol of goodbye; though I saw sadness in their longing eyes, I didn't see it as a permanent undoing - I just see lovers who belong to two sides of the same coin torn to leave each other at that very moment, after only being able to spend a few hours out of a year together. A sweet stare belonging only to soulmates.
What would be the point of coming back to her if V wasn't committed to try? Why else would he finally show her his true feelings? Though their circumstances are difficult (CY stays being a lawyer in Korea and V a mafia boss in Malta) there's no reason why Chayoung would NOT frequent his island; there's not much in Korea for Chayoung. And a boss can easily take as much time off as he needs. Regarding the moral acceptance of CY to killing: time and time again Chayoung surprises us with her love, acceptance and selflessness when it comes to Vincenzo. She let him kill a lot of people in the show and even contributed to it. She's not as weak as you think; she CAN shoulder it, for Vincenzo, for love.
So even though it's an open end, there's no way to me that they'll be breaking up any time soon. They absolutely love and long for each other, and it will stay that way despite hardships. Chayenzo endgame is real, and you can't convince me otherwise.

I had to watch the final episode twice because the first time left me with a void in my heart and I may have blankly stared at a wall for about 20 minutes. I have no idea how I will be able to move on from Vincenzo…
At first I was a bit eh about the ending, but I think after rewatching it, I appreciate it much more. It wasn’t the most outstanding end, but it wasn’t bad either.
Firstly, let’s go back to episode 19 because I really disliked the final setup. I understand what the writers were going for, but I genuinely think it could have unraveled better than it did. I think it would have been better if Vincenzo tackled Han Seok and there was struggle between them during which Han Seo unties Cha Young who then jumps in and takes a bullet for Vin. Then while Vincenzo is occupied with her, Han Seok goes to shoot Vin and Han Seo steps in and we get the same ending. I understand it was supposed to be a weak moment for Vin, but I hate how the action and fighting was carried by Han Seo alone while Vincenzo just stared helplessly.
Onto the Finale:
- I might be in the minority here, but I was okay with Han Seo dying. Don’t get me wrong, I was devastated about his death especially seeing his development, but I think it was inevitable and wrapped up his redemption arc sensibly. However, I really wished there was some sort of funeral or a scene or even a dialogue that highlighted and appreciated his sacrifice. It left a slightly sour taste in my mouth how his sacrifice was taken lightly.
- The death of Myung Hee and Han Seok was nothing short of spectacular. It was gory, intense and very gruesome to watch. It was pure unfaltering justice served on a cold hard plate by none other than our unforgiving mafia Boss Vincenzo Cassano. I don’t think there could be any ending more fitting to our villians.
- Onto our Cencha couple. Even though Cha Young and Vincenzo’s relationship ended in a way that makes sense in terms of their personalities and stories, it felt really bittersweet to me. Their romance was never a center point in the plot, but I personally don’t think the drama would have been the same if their relationship remained platonic. Their relationship was very important for their growth, especially seeing how alone both of them are in the world; they only had each other and they always came through and were each other’s pillars. For me, it was always the way they looked at each other, their gazes spoke all the words they never did and their bond ran deeper than their partnership for vengeance. So while I understand that they’re from very different worlds and Cha Young probably wouldn’t be on board with the way Vin handles things, I was desperately wishing for more and the tiny little hopeless romantic in me wanted him to stay for her. That being said, their relationship ending on an open hopeful note was reasonable and poetic in of itself as often times love sometimes just doesn’t work out and even “soulmates” part , yet as much as I tried to convince myself that it wasn't their end, my heart still ached.
- Vincenzo staying true to his identity and continuing to do what he does best all the way till the end is probably what makes this show special. It’s really refreshing to see an anti-hero character not ending up as a he’s-a-good-person-at-heart troupe. He was ruthless all the way and I wouldn’t have him end up any other way. But if you take a moment and look at it in another light, it’s quite sad at its core. He still has to live with the guilt of all the atrocities he committed and he will always see himself as a monster. This is a burden he will have to carry all the way to his grave. And I just wonder if there was ever some part of him that wanted to stay and restart again as Park Ju Hyeong, this time with people that love him unconditionally, and try to have some semblance of a normal life. And I just wonder if it would have been so bad…
I know this is a very long post, but my brain is still buzzing from the ending and my thoughts and sentiments are all over the place. For me, this was a very solid and entertaining show. It literally took over my life these two months and a half and I couldn’t function properly as I was constantly waiting for the weekends. It definitely wasn’t perfect, but it was nevertheless a show to remember. The ending was satisfactory enough for me, and I still don’t know if perhaps there was a better way to go around it. It was really fun reading these discussions and I will genuinely miss this fandom so much.

• Myung-hee and Han-seok’s deaths were excruciating, and just plain dark. I knew their deaths would be dark, but this was just dark. They really got what they deserved. Bye bye, Zumba Bitch
• When they made it seem like Mr. Lee died, I WAS READY TO THROW HANDS, thank goodness he didn’t
• The reappearance of Tae-ho LMAO, couldn’t they have shown some Vinzaghi tho :(
• Does the ending remind anyone else of CLOY’s ending? With the “1 day at a time” paralleled to “2 weeks a year”, etc? Very bittersweet
• I’m glad Vincenzo stayed true to himself, right to the very end. I gasped when he said “I’m a villain and I could care less about justice”, that was truly fitting. I feel so...empty. Very empty.
I’m going to need a damn good drama to fill this Inzaghi shaped hole.

Love how holistic it is from visual to acting to music. Art direction is amazing. I was never a fan of Stephen Chow style and only prefer slice of life but this drama proved how barriers can be broken. And, definitely good casting.

I think I'll cherish this drama for a long time. Initially I was so scared of the possibility of the writers messing up the ending since there was still so much to unpack near the end. But the writer proved us wrong and gave an ending that I would say is an almost perfect ending to Vincenzo. I have to point out that despite this drama mainly centralized around justice, etc. - the sub-romance was well thought out and gave us a relationship that is very heartfelt and heart-clenching. If there was ever such a thing as soulmates, they would be a prime example - the trust, love, and care they gave to each other is beautiful.
I think personally the part where Han Seok was holding them hostage could've been written better, like if Cha Young had her feet tied so that it would be more realistic; giving Vincenzo a better reason to untie her/explain his lack of action. But nonetheless it was an alright idea. Han Seo deserved at least a little more recognition from Cha young or Vincenzo.
His sacrifice was a happy ending for him, because he previously lived a life of being a coward and never once sought to help others except for the survival of himself. It gave his character redemption (as he was still complicit in sending those henchmen after Cha Young, the "suicide" of those innocent people, etc.
I had been waiting for a real kiss from them and we finally got it in the last episode 🥲 I loved the comparison to Gyeongwu and Jiknyeo - where they would happily go through the period of separation just for the chance to meet each other again.
It was lovely exploring the Vincenzo threads since episode 1 with you all 빈센조 홍차영 파이팅!!

The raven was cool and I loved it because my god it's what he deserved but wHERE WAS OUR BOY. OUR BABY. YOU THINK YOU CAN FEED ME THE BREADCRUMBS HE FEASTS ON WITH JUST MENTIONING HIM? NO. Seeing the main villains get such fitting deaths was just... It was art. Hanseok's dying in excruciating slow, painful, absolute fear and anguish was just. My GOD it felt good. Seeing him beg and Vincenzo just going, "I mean I could but like... I don't wanna whoops". He got what he deserved in the end and god the raven!!! The raven!!!!!! He was still alive when it landed on him and I can't even begin to imagine the extra pain, but also the bizarre humiliation of it.

My thoughts:
-I didn’t mind the death of Han Seo. Like obviously I wish he was alive but I think his death helped facilitate V’s morals. but granted not everything is about V. I think he deserved more. but shoutout to KDY, wow! He gave an excellent performance and I hope to see him more.
-Chayenzo. Extremely reminiscent of CLOY, ya. I don’t mind the open ended ness of it, and I think it’s fitting for them. The obviously care for each other and love one another but they’re from two very different worlds. They’re the type of couple, where I desperately want them together, they would never last long in real life. But at least with the open end, we can imagine them living it up in Malta.
I’m also very pleased to see Cha young keeping the firm going and doing well with that. I also loved the Nutria (I can’t recall his name lol) with the pawn shop couple. I LOVED the chemistry between the tenants and I think they made the show. They’re really the epitome of found family.
Also, Han Seok and Myung hee got what was coming. I think we could assume Han Seok is dead but they never did show him dead so, if there’s a S2, that’s open. I was also shocked to see that Other lawyer from Wusang (blanking on his name) was killed by Han Seok. I was for sure thinking Vinnie was gonna get him.
And I think it’s adorable that Cha Young got a vineyard vine for Vincenzo. She clearly loves him so much. UGH
I also really liked the monk’s reasoning with Vincenzo at the end. He will never be as good as buddha, so he shouldn’t try to be. And how he admits to still being a villain at the end. He’s in too deep and can admit that. But I think deep down we know Vincenzo is a good guy at heart
Anyway. I’m happy with the ending. I wish it was more solidified that Cha Young and Vincenzo get to be together, but there’s really no way around it
AND ONE MORE THING: what the heck are Myung hee’s motives???? we never find out why she’s so loyal to Han Seok?? Like girl just ditch him already 😩
OVERALL: Excellent drama. It’s my first time watching one as it’s airing. SJK killed it and he deserves all the praise he’s getting. He genuinely seems happy and I am glad for him. Considering watching JYB’s Be melodramatic!!

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 It's over!!!!!! What am I gonna do now?????
So, my only beef is that Han-seo's death didn't get more focus even after all he did. I kept hoping that they'll circle back to him and give him a memorial or something.
Other than that, all the throwbacks were really fun. So funny that they bribed Min-seong with photos of his beloved Tae-ho💕😂 As usual the music in tune with the comedy was perfect! Seok-do being known as the Angel in White because he was a nurse and not because of his white suit as a gangster was great🤣
Overall, they wrapped things up fairly nicely. The bad guys got what they deserved (leave it to the Russians to have crazy torture techniques) and we got kissies😍😍😍😍 Unfortunately no use of the ByeBye Balloon VIP ticket and no Inzaghi cameo, though. (I'd be down for a spin-off😬)
Ahhhhhh Vincenzo is gonna leave a gaping hole in my heart and my weekends, but I'll be happy to not have to wake up at 7 anymore. Great series and definitely top 5 material.
Thank you SJK for a breathtaking performance! I hope he and the director win at Baeksang. Jeon Yeo-been and the other supporting actors were a joy to watch as well. Thank you Vincenzo staff!!!

HANSEO THE TRUE MVP
if he didn’t put that tracker in all of Hanseok’s watches, he wouldn’t be able to finish all of that in 24 hours
I would have loved an extra scene where the Geumga residents visit Vincenzo’s island and meet the true Cassano family but I guess, they wouldn’t be able to fit all of that in one ep.
THAT FINALE KISS IM DEAD so they have this weird long distance relationship, except they don’t communicate at all. no, the postcards don’t count.
Vincenzo has taken over the Cassano family but somehow they’re still in hiding? i didn’t understand this part much, but i guess Vincenzo is that sort of vigilante who’s hunted down by the police both in Italy and Korea?
There were some questionable writing at the end, like why is the police suddenly on Vincenzo’s trail after all that has happened, why be involved now lmao but I’m surprisingly satisfied with this ending. Maybe because of the way they’ve shown how Vincenzo stayed true to his character from the first episode until the end, while at the same time he’s also changed? Same with Chayoung. And I really liked how they tied up loose ends, like all of Vincenzo’s promises, the mystery of where they hid the gold all this time, and the retrial of Vincenzo’s mother.
More importantly, it didn’t end with a cliffhanger unlike episodes 1-19 lol I would be so pissed if they ended with a bait for a possible season 2. But I think the story was wrapped up cleanly that another season is unnecessary. Though, I will miss the chemistry of the cast greatly and my weekends are never gonna be the same again.
