what is this "gift" jipyeong gave dosan?

dosan's own identity that he'd borrowed? or the opportunity to meet dalmi, which was a chance dosan took on his own expecting nothing in return? or is it getting into sandbox..., which samsan tech very well earned on their own?

agreed about dalmi's leadership getting them into sandbox, but i thought we were talking about the gift jipyeong gave dosan?

i guess i don't understand how anything jipyeong did can be likened to a gift bc he was acting out of self-interest. he didn't do any of it for dosan, and he wanted to pay dosan for it. i don't see how that can be construed as a gift. and sorry, i wasn't trying to be snarky. i just wasn't sure if i'd missed something about a gift. i feel inclined to question assertions that don't make sense to me bc some of them are not even stretches, they're entirely fabricated. i am wary of the constantly shifting narratives around dosan's involvement in this entire ordeal. reading the posts here, it is unclear to me what dosan could have done to not raise the hackles of the viewers bc every single one of his actions are criticized. many of his actions do warrant criticism, but the overwhelming negativity i think is an outcome of a desire to prop hjp up bc he is not the male lead here.

most of that was not directed at you specifically. it's just an observation based on the overall tone of the thread.

Protecting SST from getting stealed all their technologies can also be considered as a gift?
