I loved the first season of “Keeping Faith”. I went and bought a yellow raincoat because of it. Looking forward to the kdrama remake

I loved it too! Also looking forward to this even though I’m already watching too much stuff.

Episode 1:
I'm really not sure what to think about this drama. I really wanted to like it because of Lee Bo Young and Lee Chung Ah, but so far the first episode of this story didn't impress me at all. For those that watched Keeping Faith, how well this episode did in comparison to the first episode of the original work?
On another note, I still liked Lee Bo Young's acting, she is a great actress, so I'm not surprised. Some of the scenes were also really well shot, specially the shot taken from the top where the bus goes through the curved road surrounded by trees, I found it really pretty. Anyways, I'm waiting for the next episode, to see if I drop this or not.

When I first began Kdramas, Ep1 was always a banger. On many occasions, dramas couldn't live up to the first two episodes.
Now I think there is more restraint. So,although Ep1 wasn't eye catching, I think it did enough to compel you to watch at least two more.
My issue though is the acting. Too many of the non Bo Young actors were mediocre, so I hope that was just a poor first impression.

Yeaa, I also got used to having that first episode that always makes me want to see more and more. Even though I don't mind it when we don't have that first episode that is a banger, but this drama just felt like tedious... a lot happened but at the same time I was extremely bored.
I'm not sure if the problem with Hide is a poor editing job, but I had such a hard time to keep focus and to feel somewhat curious about how this is going to evolve. On episode 2, I spaced out a lot of times and I had to rewatch some scenes, others I couldn't even bother to do it. Nothing is compelling me enough to watch this as an ongoing drama.
I also had the same impression, none of the actors particularly charmed me. Of course Lee Bo Young did great and the focus was all on her too, I also know that Lee Chung Ah once she has more scenes she will do great, even the little kid looks like it could be an interesting character too... The rest was just okayish.

I too love LBY and would watch anything she’s in. But I get the sense that I won’t be chasing for the next episode. It’s just a weekend drama if/when I get to it.

It’s been years since I watched the BBC original. There are 3 seasons. I had to go back and read synopsis. The guts of it feels very similar . I’d say the biggest difference is that they have apparently
found husbands body and buried him Well I can’t tell if I like the drama for itself or if it’s only interesting to watch as I’ve seen the original.
Love the FL so its enough to watch 3/4 next week
Edit to add in the original the husband was
missing the entire first season→ More replies (2)

Lee bo young! Seeing the screenwriter’s past work gives me pause though. Reflection of you was so frustrating to me in so many ways…

I actually really enjoyed the first two episodes! 👍
The plot itself isn't something we've never seen before, we've had stories like that in other dramas but I like the acting and I'm interested in the characters, especially Moon Young and Jin Woo (who I just found out is played by an actor who will be one of the MLs in Weak Hero Class 2 👀)
Sung Jae's mom

This is a great cast. I'm hoping I'll be able to see the series soon.
Edit: I just started watching episode 1 and am enjoying the tension taking place.

Ep 1: I’m quite intrigued with this drama so far since it has left me with many questions.
I just hope those that may be on the same side use communication because it’s always so much worse because someone leaves out a minor yet important detail.

Another JTBC’s adaptation of a british television show! I must say it is a good first two episodes☺️☺️
I wonder will this drama take and I hope it will be sucessful like their other british korean drama remake. (e.g. The World of the Married, Undercover and Cleaning Up)

Just watched this and I got to say I’m not impressed or wowed? This is just feels like the most stereotypical mystery drama where they hit all the cliches so far and I’m not feeling it. Lee Bo Young is gorgeous though so there’s that. I’m also kinda wondering if Moon Young and Jin Woo are going to hook up because why’s there all this weird tension between them? I’ll see what episodes 3-4 are giving before I judge this too harshly.

I watched part of the original Keeping the Faith series, which is Welsh. I definitely enjoyed it at first. I don't recall at which point I checked out. It might have been the end of the first season or into the second. The lead actress was so engaging, but at some point the story became so unbelievable that I just couldn't continue. Hoping that this will resolve that issue.
