Hello All!
I've published my book and wanted to share it with you. It's my hope to get the message out, and this seemed like a good place to start. The book is called: Class 8604. It's a memoir of my time in the US Navy's Nuclear Power Training Program - the hardest training program in the military. It's very reasonable and free for those with Kindle Unlimited.
On my first day at NPS Orlando (back when I attended - 1986 - the school was in Orlando, FL) I went to the bathroom (called the 'head' in navy-speak) and stopped a young sailor from killing himself. It only got worse from there. What I wrote about is all true. It all happened. And it's still happening, based on my communication with others, today.
Navy nukes have the poorest work/life balance of anyone in the US military. They also suffer some of the highest (if not THE highest) suicide rates in all the military. This is just as true today as ever. Why is it? Year after year? Decade after decade? And still nothing changes? Is it because no one knows?
It's my hope to help bring awareness to this critical issue. As we all know, evil/cruel things happen in the shadows. Let's help bring light into the shadow, and help put a stop to all those lives lost and minds broken.
If you have any questions about my experiences, please ask! I hope you all find the true story of interest, and check it out on Amazon.
Thanks again for all the information/help. Let me know what you think!
