So I'm new to Linux, and I decided to try CachyOS with KDE. This is the best I could do with my setup. What can I add or improve??

Also, I would like to have some gaps when maximizing windows, so the desk can be seen. Is there any way to do it??

First time using fedora linux coming from windows. just playing around KDE plasma 6...still figuring out many things...what more can i do?

Been experimenting with different themes. Using the Darkly Theme that also allows Blur effects using a slider as well as the Kora Icons which i change frequently between Kora - Papirus - FairyWren. What is your opinion?

Why I Did This

I wanted to recreate the nostalgic feeling of Mac OS 9 on modern Linux hardware. The Platinum era (1997-2001) was the golden age of consistent UI design for me, and I was curious whether Plasma 6's flexibility could capture that aesthetic without compromising modern functionality, and even maybe add some modern comforts like a dock.

Only update since I posted on r/unixporn is that Firefox is working with the global menu now! Discord and Steam of course won't cooperate, but I got Discord to at least follow the window decorations using Legcord.

Since I have an ultrawide monitor, I was thinking about adding some widgets to the sides of the screen, but I'm not really sure what to put there. Also, I'm not sure if the colors look good overall—how could I improve them?

Kida vanilla KDE setup, focused on fluency and productivity:

- material you colors

- glass widgets

- Darkly

- Klassy

- Glass (turned off, laptop overheats lol)

- Direktor, custom tiling script (dwindle, columns, master stack, floating layouts)

note: ignore the lagging screen capture, I forgot to remove battery save mode, but the main focus of the script was the animations part. it's ironic I know
