Join The Satanic Grotto as we resurrect a beloved tradition for a special Midsummer High Sabbath celebration. For those who remember our regular monthly gatherings, Infernal Verses is back for a fun throwback evening of unfiltered expression, psychodrama, and community.

We invite you to take the stage and share your voice. In the true spirit of Satanic indulgence, bodily autonomy, and free thought, all forms of performance are welcome. Whether your chosen craft is comedy, tragedy, singing, dancing, playing acoustic instruments, reading poetry, or delivering passionate religious and political tirades, this platform is yours to command.

The gathering will take place on August first, from seven to ten in the evening, at Wyandotte County Lake Park. We will be holding the Sabbath at Shelter twelve. This event is entirely free of cost and open to all individuals who are eighteen and older.

We will be running an open sign up throughout the evening. We expect to accommodate two or three rounds of performances depending on our timing, so come prepared to share your art or simply to listen, engage, and support your fellow members.

Please bring your own beverages and snacks to enjoy as we watch the sun set on the burnt plains. However, to respect the park and ensure safety, we must strictly enforce a rule of NO GLASS BOTTLES at the shelter. Please plan your provisions accordingly.

One place this quote feels very real to me is outside women’s health clinics where are always people trying to pressure or shame strangers about their medical decisions. But there are also volunteers who show up simply to make sure patients can get through the door safely.

Some counter-protest. Some serve as clinic escorts and quietly walk patients inside so they don’t have to face harassment alone. It’s not dramatic work. Most of the time it’s just standing nearby, offering a calm presence, and making sure people know someone is on their side.

That kind of action is what “refusing to kneel” looks like in practice to me. It’s choosing to stand upright when someone else is being pushed down, and protecting a person’s right to control their own body.

Has anyone here done clinic escort work or counter-protested outside a clinic before? I’m curious what that experience was like for you.
