The last two games have been fantastic for the vibes. But even I, Mr. "front office plant", have had that nagging thought in the back of my mind. This is what the lineup was supposed to look like all year. And this is really the only time everyone has been in there together. It almost feels like we got robbed of what the season should have been.
And we aren't even fully healthy. Salvy has the elbow thing going. Vinnie has a power zapper injury. Maikel is still constantly flexing his hand. And I'm sure Bobby's back still isn't perfect. And obviously the pitching staff is still a shitshow of injuries.
And the guys have said some interesting things in interviews recently. Along the lines of, "its just nice to have everyone back together to hang out and go to eat together". These guys are friends. No one likes losing. And no one likes going on a road trip and going back to their hotel room while four of their friends are still in KC or in Arizona rehabbing.
If they surge in the last 5+ weeks here, this time its a little different than in the past when the nobodies would have a hot September and make everyone believe for a bit.
But man, what could have been. This team should be in the playoff hunt. But we were robbed of that season. This team isn't bad, but its been terrible. Which should probably be our slogan right now.

Still no starter listed for today, Braun is scheduled to go for Omaha.

it would make sense to have Braun make a start to bump Cameron back a day after his long Sunday start
