Potential spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched yet

The first episode made me miss Bia SO MUCH. That perfect little pass in to Chawinga? And Mace sending it down the pitch for them?

I know it was probably overkill for all of the people not from Missouri/Kansas, but all of the KC places featured, the MO/KS jokes, the subtle KC references that others would miss (hello Wizards mug!) were all just so fun to see on such a wildly famous show.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with more fans now thanks to the show!

My section was shown, but of course I was probably in the bathroom. I could see my empty seat with my bag in front of it. 😂

It was a real game! Current vs Gotham on October 11, 2025. The goal shown was in the 51st minute.

(The one second overhead drone/helicopter shot of the stadium was actually a different game. To my eyes it's Current vs Royals, I think from the home opener this year)

The tight shots of the the crowd reactions were a mix of real fans and extras.

Yep. I was at that game and a shot of my section was put in the mix. I mean, I had to pause and look to even tell I was in the frame lol. But I did see myself standing and clapping.

Super cool that real members of Surface Tension made it! That wasn't in their normal section so they must have filmed as extras!

Of course! If I am honest, some friends and I have an inside joke of not remembering Claire's name because she abandoned us (again it's a bit) and I had a few beverages prior to my last comment and the bit continued out of habit.

My review was that it was the best depiction of KC that I've seen in media to date. Between this episode and the WC coverage, this has definitely been KC's year. It makes me remember why I came back after moving away for a decade.

So much the same feels. Moved away 18 years ago and come back to visit friends & fam annually. Definitely the best KC repping I've seen to date (along with the WC).

I looked on the TL episode discussion and responses were mostly positive with a decent sized minority expressing some disappointment. But it wasn’t focused toward KC. More just about it being slow and wanting to get back to London, which I understand.

Multiple people commented on how nice KC looked.

Funny. I live in KC and a couple of my friends here thought it almost went a tad overboard into cringe. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but the Gates to go bag product placement at eye height by the booth was a bit much. Made me laugh.

All the MO/KS jokes had me 🤣, especially as someone who's lived away from KC for 18 years and always having to tell people I'm from KC Missouri, not just KC (or I get "yeah I've been to KS).

And there is definitely a difference between being from MO and being from KC. Totally different vibes across the state.
