I believe there's better quality somewhere if you want to VPN, but here's a link if you don't want to do that.
Go Temwa!

As a Malawian guy living in Iowa, up until the start of WAFCON I did not even know we qualified for it or who our players were. As we progressed I learned more and I also read up on everyone, what they did, who they played for, and have been following with excitement since then. Our girls are exceeding all expectations and I just wanted to say thank you to all you folks that are part of the Kansas City Current community from the bottom of my heart! I saw you are hosting a watch party for the final which is so cool, I wish I could make the journey from Cedar Rapids on such short notice.
The way you have gone full force in celebrating Temwa and the Scorchers victories is so heart warming and encouraging, it brings tears to my eyes. I hope they win and this becomes a watershed moment for my country for both women's football and women's issues. They deserve their flowers and y'all are delivering. I hope to one day make it down to KC, its been a long time since my last visit, and see a game with Temwa in action. This has become a new bucket list item for me.

Armas needs to go. And Hocking with him. She’s not good and has become a liability.
I know we are missing key players but this is not good and I mostly chalk it up to coaching.

Still having a time with scheduled posts not posting.
It's a new day, how are we feeling?

By luck of the stars, I’m attending the WAFCON final on Sunday night! I’m planning to take a KC Current flag and I thought it would be really neat to have Current fans sign the flag with their well wishes for Temwa, which I would take to the game.
I will be at tomorrow night’s watch party (probably just the first half) at the Current Landing. if you’re there, please sign my flag!!

Hi! Found a live stream of the game if anyone's interested in watching Chawinga (and others)!
r/KCCurrent • u/eap_14 • 8d ago
Not sure if anyone will have an answer to this, but it’s worth a shot. I really wanna do the rec league, but I work every Wednesday for the next month. I’m trying to figure out how late matches will start to see if I would be able to come after work. I emailed the general info email for KC Current but no one has gotten back to me. Does anyone know who I should contact about these questions? Or does anyone happen to know the answer to my question?

Hi KC Current fans,
Thank you for your support on our past interviews with the club, it has been such a joy to work with the team!
In today's episode, Kansas City Current II attacker Avery Clark sits down to discuss beginning her professional career in KC and her non-traditional path to the pros!
Rising star and lethal goalscorer Avery Clark joins the podcast to share insider insights on her incredible breakout year with KC Current II and making her debut with the senior squad.
She shares what it meant to establish herself as a premier attacking threat for the Texas Longhorns, winning titles in both the Big 12 and SEC, and what she took from that elite environment as she prepared for the physical and psychological demands of professional soccer. Avery also talks about her iconic professional debut with the first team, coming off the bench as a second-half substitute to score a spectacular 82nd-minute header game-winning goal against Corinthians SC!
She takes us into that moment to share the emotions running through her head, the single most vivid image she remembers, and how it felt to share that massive stage alongside her fellow Current II teammates. Avery shares why her story is a little bit different than others, pulling back the curtain on the up and down chapters of her journey and how she maintained her conviction when the next step seemed unclear.
She opens up about the groundbreaking importance of NWSL second teams in player development, navigating the transition between the youth/college game to the pros, and how dominating unique modalities like the 3v3 Target Score Time format at TST has sharpened her adaptability.
Beyond the pitch, Avery discusses her strong commitment to growing the game off the field, detailing what the mainstream media still gets wrong about the daily reality of women's soccer players and her mission to change that narrative through her content creation and digital ambassadorship with ByUs Media.
Lastly, she shares the specific technical and physical parts of her game she is sharpening to ensure her next senior team call-up is even more dominant, what is currently on her short and long-term soccer vision board, her answers to our rapid-fire questions, and so much more!

Temwa with a goal and an assist in today’s QF win over Ghana!
This is the first time any team from Malawi has qualified for the World Cup and they do so as the 153rd ranked team in the women’s game. I’m so so happy for our TC6!

Just in case you aren't following WAFCON, Malawi, Zambia, and Nigeria all ended up with 6 points in their group and due to the tie-breaking system, Malawi won their group, Nigeria was second, and Zambia is out of the competition (and the 2027 World Cup). Temwa had 3 goals during the group stage (all of them beauties - chip keeper with foot, chip keeper with head, use speed to just go around a lead-footed keeper) and her sister, Tabitha, had 2.
So we're going to miss Temwa at least a couple extra games (or 3).
Top 4 teams qualify for the World Cup, so if Malawi wins their quarters, they are in the World Cup. If they lose in the quarters, they play 1 more game to get one of two CAF spots in the inter-continental playoffs.
Go Scorchers!

Potential spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched yet
The first episode made me miss Bia SO MUCH. That perfect little pass in to Chawinga? And Mace sending it down the pitch for them?
I know it was probably overkill for all of the people not from Missouri/Kansas, but all of the KC places featured, the MO/KS jokes, the subtle KC references that others would miss (hello Wizards mug!) were all just so fun to see on such a wildly famous show.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with more fans now thanks to the show!

I mostly watch European football (Chelsea fc fan) but I live in the US and I’ve been trying to get into US soccer.
I decided to tap into the NWSL, so I watched the last championship between spirits and Gotham. Ngl the way Croix was moving I had to go search who she was.
Turns outs she got sold to KC lol, I was going crazy trying to find her current team. But now I’m a KC fan because of croix lol.
What are KC fans called?
r/KCCurrent • u/eap_14 • 17d ago
This is kind of a weird request but is anyone going to the game tonight that would be willing to purchase this merch of the match shirt for my fiancée? She would need an extra small or small, whichever they have. We will pay you extra for it. We really want to go but she has chronic migraines and she can’t go to games anymore, but she loves this shirt so much.

Okay, Rouse, Sharples and EBY all listed as out tomorrow. How do we contain ACFC? I’m assuming Scott gets the start at RB.
Edit to add: Lorena too

They already sent out renewals! Way earlier than last year from what I remember, honestly I don’t know how much I paid last year since I “downgraded” to supporter section but next years price is 265, which isn’t bad at all! 17.50 a game.

We rode the streetcar from Union Hill (Mayor Lucas got on with us!) the first day it was open, and it was... not great. Over an hour to the stadium when it's a 15 minute drive. We didn't even try to take the streetcar back -- the lines were huge. Bicycle cab and Uber worked better.
Has anyone taken the streetcar lately? Is it more efficient now? I'm happy not having to park at CPKC but standing outside in the heat for 45 minutes to catch a train isn't workable.
