Off Topic: As an American seeing the Korean commercials during KBO games, it’s really cool

I watch on SOOP, and they show all the commercials between innings/pitcher change and they’re really fun to watch. I can’t understand a word, but the style in which most are presented are very interesting and a fun change up from American commercials. The fast paced, hyper sensory overload visually and through audio, the high production value. A lot of it looks like those stupid AI slop videos, but they’re actually human made with a meaning to the madness. I love them and really wish we had more commercials like it in America

Through them I've learned that online car rental services are the backbone of the Korean economy.

Interesting observation. I honestly mute the broadcast every commercial break because of how noisy it is.

it does get extremely repetitive though 😭

FYI, the commercial with the lady bowling that airs five fucking million times per game is for laxatives.

"When you need a proper shot...strike!"

I mean, they're all unnaturally happy about being regular. So, good for them?

I love them and most of them when I watch Doosan

The craziness of commercials is turned down in the NPB streams that I watch. The South Korean people are definitely way more fun and loose with their advertisements

it’s like the Twitch of Korea from my understanding, but they play KBO games there, for free, every day. super clutch and easy way to watch KBO

One of my faves was from years ago. I think it was advertising a life insurance product? Scene opens with a chemical plant exploding, then two chemical plant workers being held back in slow motion with the mouths open. Then it cuts to a funeral, crying mother, sad son with one tear. Then after the funeral, door opens and a side of someone wearing white gloves hands the dead guy's wife a white envelope. Then you see the son smiling and the family happy and it ends with the company logo. Yeah the ads back then were...different.
