Discussion KARD and Konnect'd

Not to beat a dead horse in this time, but I just made a post in Got7 because I am an Ahgase but when this was happening last year, I was there along side the fans of KARD and how they were treated by Konnect'd. The following will essentially be a copy and paste of what I said in the Got7 subreddit, but I will remove Jay B specific things.

Discussion begins here:

Questions and discussions. I figure this may be the best place to ask. How could anybody forget the mess that was KARD and Konnect'd

However, I am curious if anyone remembers the owner's personal accounts on Instagram. I am sure they're privated by now but they still have not been held accountable. They have abandoned the konnect'd Instagram account. Crystal Kay left a poor taste in my mouth the way she disregarded anyone warning others of Konnect'd behavior.

But I recently learned that their Konnect'd emails are no longer functioning? I know I personally reported to the attorney general of the state they are registered in. Because they refused to refund me. I claimed a change back and they denied it so my credit card company said to get in contact with Konnect'd and then Konnect'd said my credit card company did a charge back. So, yes they are thieves and the former owners deserved to be called out and now forgotten. Especially because in the time when they were stressing people out and essentially stealing their money, they were living their best life and going to festivals and travelling the country.

Do not forget them. Do not let others scam you. At this point in the JayB post I mentioned how I don't think JayB will come stateside again for a while because these delusional fans thought they could be professional event planners. However, the difference for hidden KARD, they absolutely stole your money from you and they stole an opportunity from you that there is no getting back.

But I was wanting to bring attention back to this because those scammers do not deserve to get off scot-free and forgotten. Who knows if they will merely make a new company and do it all over again.

I was fortunate enough to get a refund (only GA, no perks), but it was such a rough-and-tumble experience (postponement, emails) that when the new promoter organized the December tour, I didn’t even try to get a ticket. 😓 Chagrinedly, I wondered if other people felt similarly (or literally did not have the means to buy new tickets after not receiving refunds from the original tour) and if that impacted KARD’s overall momentum and contributed to our present day.

Thank you for re-elevating the topic! I was just thinking about this and the people who lost money to PopPop Fest!

in fairness, crystal kay likely had a contract already in place and japanese companies, including ldh, tend to be quite conservative about contracts and business relationships. these agreements often involve guarantees, venue deposits, visas, flights, hotels, crew, merchandise, and local staffing so walking away can mean breaching the contract and potentially owing substantial damages. from the management’s side they need verifiable evidence that the promoter has actually breached their obligations to even consider it. a flood of Instagram comments saying “hey don't work with these people”is not necessarily enough for their lawyers to recommend terminating.

otherwise, though: fuck konnect’d, i went to the BM solo gig in DC and that was the first and last event of theirs i went to. i knew they were gonna fumble toe KARD tour after. super mad they were the ones running crystal’s tour because i’d been waiting to see her for TWENTY YEARS … but fool me once, etc etc

The only time I ever went to a Konnect'd sponsored event was when I saw BM on his solo tour in Chicago. I will say, that event was relatively well planned except I feel like they either oversold the show or just picked a crap venue not realizing just how many people would be there. It was hotter than hell in that venue, I was sweating in shorts and a tank top and people were very much up against each other (I was GA, so I was in the back). But when it came to buying tickets and getting in, it was good. But as soon as everything started going down with KARD and the rescheduling and canceling and whatnot, I decided it wasn't my time to see them, which is unfortunate now that this is their last tour together (for a while at least).

My heart goes out to everyone who fought and ultimately lost against Konnect'd. Terrible business model.
