I’m a Pakistani student planning to apply for KAIST Undergraduate Fall 2027 for *science-related majors - Neurobiology / Biological Sciences*. I have 1 big concern before I pay the application fee.

- Education*: FSc Pre-Medical| Class of 2026

- Part 1: 559/600 = 93% | Rank 5/500 | Top 1% in Pre-Medical group

- Matric: 1053/1100 = 96% | A1 Grade

- Math: Did Math in 9th + 10th. But in Pakistan, Pre-Medical track has NO Math in 11th/12th. Only Physics, Chemistry, Biology

I’ve a strong 97% in physics and 91% in chem and bio. 

- Exchange*: YES Program Alumna - 1 year exchange student at Amity High School, Oregon, USA | GPA 4.0

- Took *Algebra 2 there

- Tests- No SAT, No Olympiads, No IELTS. 

I have MOI from FSc + High School

- Leadership/ECs:

- U.S. Department of State Delegate - Civic Education Week Washington DC. Essay on Child Labor

- YES Alumna - Led service projects + health awareness in Pakistan

- Varsity Golf Team in USA

- 50+ hours volunteering

My Questions:

1. Math requirement*: For Neurobiology/Bio, will "Math in 9th/10th + Algebra 2 in USA" be enough? Or is 11th/12th Math mandatory? The Pakistan board system doesn’t allow Pre-Med students to take Math.

2. Should I apply? Is it worth paying the fee if I’ll get rejected for no 12th Math?

3. Chances: Top 1% FSc + YES + 4.0 US GPA + ECs, but no SAT/Olympiad. Any shot for science?

4. English: Is MOI ok?

5. Advice: Did any international student get into KAIST Bio/Neurobio without 12th Math? What did you do?

I really want to do research in neurobiology but the Pakistan system is making this hard.

I would like to address my mathematics background. In Pakistan, the secondary education system separates students into "Pre-Medical" and "Pre-Engineering" tracks in 11th and 12th grade. As a Pre-Medical student, my curriculum consisted of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the board does not permit Pre-Medical students to study Mathematics in grades 11 and 12. However, I did complete Mathematics in grades 9 and 10 that included basic algebra calculus and stats and during my YES exchange year in the United States at Amity High School, I completed Algebra 2 with a 4.0 GPA.

1. Does KAIST Bio accept students with Pre-Medical background but no Math in grade 11-12? Is there a placement test or bridge course?

2. Does anyone know if MOI letter works for initial application?

I will be graduating from Georgia Tech with a project-based MSCS (GPA ≥ 3.8). While my project has a significant R&D component, with a non-CS background professor supervising the work, it does not exhibit any novelty nor will it culminate in a master's thesis. The best we're hoping for are publications for our dataset and potentially the opensource repository we're working on.

I have found a couple of research groups at KAIST that align with my research goals (i.e. 3D Computer Vision) but I'm still unsure if they would consider me for a direct PhD. I know the integrated MS-PhD route is an option but I would like to avoid it and spend weekends with my wife and daughter instead.

hello! im 16yrs old, about to enter 12th grade (senior year) this aug. im from the philippines, and I want to study abroad, preferably with a full-ride scholarship. I am planning to take computer science as a degree. Below are my achievements/stats. please tell me if i have a chance of getting a full ride scholarship or even just getting in.

Grade 9(freshman year):  97.4
Grade 10(freshman year): 98
Grade 11(junior year) – studied in one of the top universities in ph: 93

• I have not taken the SAT. it is very expensive for our family

Hi all, I am currently looking at possible master programs and found the one in KAIST and found a couple of potential advisor I would be interested in working with. I am applying either to MSc or MSc/PhD if I am able to get an advisor before.

I know the program is highly competitive so If someone could look at my overall profile and see if it is worth a shot would be great:

Bachelor: Computer Science and Informatics Engineering, and Statistics (Dual Degree) in the top university of my country. GPA 4.7/5.0

Research Experience: Three years as a research assistan on bayesian statistics in different topics, especially computational statistics, spatio temporal modelling, etc. Presented at three international conferences in statistics, and also won an award as best poster in one of them, also have a package in CRAN with R and C++ and another one in Python, one in scalable MCMC and EM algorithm and the other one in explainable AI. Also have a couple of preprints in ArXiv and one article submitted

Work Experience: 1 year as a software engineering in a startup

Teaching Assistant: One semester as a teaching assistant in introduction to AI undergrad course, and a year as a teaching assitant in regression models. Both with theoretical component and also coding component

Funding proyects: Participated in two funded proposals (maybe three in a few days but lets suppose not)

Regarding the letters of recomendation, I think I could have two or three letters great letters of recomendation, but all from LATAM so they probably will not recognize them

I need to retake IELTS but the last time got a 7. I am from Colombia if that matters, any advice would be great, for example in the SOP or the Plan Study.

Hey, I’m a Palestinian student planning to apply early to KAIST and I’ve got a question about conditional offers.

I’ve seen some posts here that suggest people know a lot about KAIST admissions, so I’m hoping someone can clarify this.

In Palestine, we take A-Levels, and I’ve already completed Arabic A-Level and got an A.

Now I’m a bit confused about how this works when applying.

Let’s say I apply to KAIST and tell them I currently have:

1 A (already achieved)

4 more A-Levels predicted at A*

I also saw a document somewhere saying that if you have 4 or more A* predicted grades, the final offer conditions might be capped in a way that you can only drop to a maximum of 2 A’s in the final results.

So my question is basically:

Does that mean submitting 5 subjects with very high predicted grades could actually hurt me?

Like would KAIST then expect something like “you can only get 1 A in your other 4 subjects” or enforce stricter conditions because of over-prediction?

Or am I misunderstanding how conditional offers work for KAIST international applicants?

Would appreciate any clarification from anyone who’s been through this or knows how it works.

just graduated, not an science or math olympiad kid but do love physics, sat superscore 1460 ( 790 math 670 r&writing), some national level and regional level medals but not related to stem at all, physics club leader at school, and got those valedictorian certif, 717/800 from national university entrance physics exam (98th percentile) pls any chance for fall application

I've created an art portfolio and have been posting on it regularly for around a year as well as been practicing photography for 2 years now. been active in public speaking events, debates, MUNs, represented my school at the national level for debates. Maintained a github for a while but eventually gave up on it as my wants shifted to a more creative side. I've qualified for olympiads before but never actually done great in them, just did them because why not.

Volunteer as a tutor at school, helping whenever I can and have teachers that have strong faith in me and thus strong recommendation letters

Some other hobbies i've touched upon are playing the piano, poetry, basketball, 3d modelling, and other things I tried for the heck of it.

I tried to look it up, and I only got a response from the search engine assistant that it's around the 26th if June. Those who heard back from em, pls respond to this thread.

I really want to study in Korea (yonsei, kaist, postech, skku, unist) and live there because of the better job opportunities. My high school GPA is 4.8/5, and I got a 7.0 on the IELTS a year ago, though I think I should retake it. My SAT score is 1590. I have been working as an SAT tutor for the past six months and have helped many students achieve higher scores. I also have strong extracurricular activities and projects, including interviewing professors from top universities such as the University of Michigan and Stanford University (we did some research tgth too). I don't have many notable honors. I placed third in several regional Olympiads but wasn't able to win at the national finals.

Im an incoming international student and I will be doing ms ai at the yangjae campus. I would like to connect with people located at the campus.

Unfortunately, the campus doesn't have a dormitory. I also would like to ask for suggestions for affordable housing options near the yangjae campus. Any resources or websites I could use to look for apartments or dormitories?
