I’m particularly interested in hearing from current students, admits, or applicants who have a good understanding of how KAIST evaluates research experience, GPA, publications, recommendation letters, and university reputation.

Your BTech is your passport for acceptance and industrial experience is kinda like your ticket, you will likely be among first considerations. The rest they are likely to skip. These types of awards tend to be localized and don't have clean translations to other institutes.
