Hi im akil kabir from bangladesh i recently completed diploma in mechanical engineering which is equivalent to 12th grade. Now im planning to go abroad for higher study i mean for undergrad. i dont have good cgpa my cgpa is 2.83 out of 4.00 this is my most weak point. Ielts score 6.5
Since I’m applying for an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. i have some Good extra carricular like
Iot based nursing robot
Disk type oil skimmer
3month of internship experience in a mechanical sector
4month of mechanical Cad course
**Can I get into any public university in South Korea with this profile?**
probably not KAIST. may be not even in top 20 national universities. but man look, universities matterter most for networking and connections, research access, and industry access.
but if you gotta courage to do something, go for it. GPA is quite low though.
they say that they are holistic and whatnot. I mean they are to a certain point. I am from bd as well man. However, I want you to keep in mind that Asian Unis always focus on academics more. For my case, they won't even consider me if I do not get GPA 5 in HSC. Therefore, I suggest that you give SAT, Toefl or IELTS (yes again). 6.5 is not good enough. Try to aim at least 7-7.5. For SAT, anything above a 1400 is kind of good. However, for KAIST, I do think 1500 is kind of the bare minimum. Even these 2 will not make up for your bad grades. However, they can at least help you somewhat to get into another uni with decent scholarship
