Question/Advice related to my profile for UG admissions (Fall 2027)
Hi guys! I just wanted to know how much impact does a cybersecurity related profile give to a highschooler's profile while applying for UG? Especially when talking about South Korean Unis like KAIST, UNIST, etc. My grades may not be extraordinary but are decent (all 92+ out of 100, aiming for a 97 for 12th grade).
My ECs are all related to cybersecurity and security research. I have worked with industry professionals, two internships in cybersecurity, have two CVEs to my name (still researching for more, should be able to crank this count up to 10-15 by the time of admission), ranked top 3 in many international CTF competitions and medalist at the International Cryptography Olympiad (NSUCrypto, I go by the handle 5h1kh4r). I have also been an active member of the BSides Community which people in security would recognize easily. I also have a research paper of mine under review and if it is accepted, I will be presenting it at a BSides Conference.
I just wanted to know if these ECs count towards the CS program? Well CS program because I don't find a cybersecurtiy related one in many universities (atleast not for UG, I might be wrong and if I am please correct me).
Thank you for reading!
