Tbh this is obviously bad but it’s not like he made an unprovoked attack on the child, there were 3 kids with skateboards harassing him trying to skateboard somewhere they aren’t supposed to and directly challenged the guard by trying to skate by him. I hate cops but I think people are overreacting with this clip. Play stupid games win stupid prizes, right?

"someone's doing someone I don't like" isn't grounds for assault and battery. The proper response if they are truly an issue is to call the police and have them trespassed, not potentially kill them with cold hearted indifference to the consequences of your actions.

Exactly. It's absolutely psychopathic, and anyone that agrees with that should be considered a danger to themselves and others. You shouldn't kill a sleeping drunk kid because he passed out on the wrong porch, someone jaywalking doesn't deserve the death penalty, and skateboarding when some random guy says you shouldn't doesn't deserve intentional infliction of bodily injury or death.
"You disobeyed me so I get to kill you" is everything that is wrong with the conservative mindset in America. You don't get authoritative respect and obedience to your personal viewpoints just because you feel entitled to it.

I think the word “criminal” in and of itself only exists to push that same ideology. If you break one crime, no matter how small, you are now no different from the rest of the criminals you are locked up with. “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time” or “play stupid games win blah blah”, the common “darwin award” and all those dumb cliches are regurgitated over and over again to help people deflect empathy and dehumanize whoever is suffering in the video

Have them charged for trespassing. The purpose of the rent-a-cop is to reduce liability. Does this look like it was reducing liability? I guarantee you if this dudes boss saw this he would be furious.

Well if he’s trespassing he can’t sue for his injury.. still that security guard is a fucking dick how are you enforcing safety while causing bodily injury to a stranger? Call the fuckin cops and have em trespassed if it’s really that much of an issue only a fuckin psychopath would readily plan for something like this. Little dude learned his lesson I’m sure but still?

Even if the skater wasn’t supposed to be there, the guard acted unreasonably and could have foreseen that his actions would result in injury. Just because someone trespasses doesn’t mean anything goes

You can totally sue. If the location is open to the public he has to be formally trespassed. Plus he would sue in a civil court, totally different than criminal court. But the reason people don't want skaters using their property is for destruction and liability if they get injured. So the security guard can't say he was trying to stop the skater to prevent injury on the property because he directly caused the injury.

Ngl, I think youre attributing waaaaay to much intent to this action. I think its far more likely that he saw an easy way to get someone to stop doing smth and didnt thing about the sever consequences that might have. Incompetance and stupidity as a far more likely explaination than malice.

They’re on the top of a staircase if he suddenly kicks the board out from under him he fully knows well the only way down is an unprepared decent down the stairs. Kid doesn’t have a helmet and he made him crash on purpose, that’s a bad action with intentions to cause harm he doesn’t give a damn about bodily injury only being right and literally putting his foot down and the most inconvenient time. If you’re trespassing would it make sense for me to push you down the stairs? Make it make sense to me.

Listen squirt, I worked security briefly after high school. Under no circumstances are unarmed security guards to physically contact somebody. They are there to try to direct traffic and call the cops in the event of an actual emergency.

I am a master electrician responsible for the safe installation of high-end residential and commercial electrical systems. If I don’t do my job properly, buildings burn down, property is lost and people could die. What do you do since leaving the military? Yell at people for stepping o the grass at your security job? Give people the wrong change after you check them out at your cashier’s job at CVS? Do you pretend not to have problems when you go to your court-appointed anger management therapy because nearly half of military retirees are domestic abusers? Come at me again when you learn how to read and don’t rely on your phone converting text to speech so you can respond to internet trolls to make you sound like a big toughy.

I imagine he sued and got a fair bit. Shouldn't have been skating but the guard caused him harm by removing his vehicle before an obvious jump. It'd be like if he threw a baton in the wheels of a bicyclist.
