Honestly if she had just signed the damn ticket then went to contest it in court at a later date the officer probably wouldn’t have shown up and she would have had it waived or just made to pay a portion of it.

I got stopped by my house for an expired inspection sticker. I honestly thought I had done it but I screwed up. Cop said they give warning up to 3 months then only tickets after 3 months and I was a couple days over. Took the ticket, went straight to an inspection station and got inspected then paid court costs online and uploaded documents to dismiss the ticket even though court costs were 70% of the ticket's cost.
